Today I got a call from Docomo. There is a technical problem from Reliance side. They are working on it. Finally I am out of Reliance. All issues are resolved . I am able to receive all calls to my Docomo.

Yes. I have port out frm RCDMA to Docomo. But still RCDMA is active and all reliance calls are still coming to RCDMA. When contacted Docomo CC, they told me that it is a technicla problem from Reliance.

5. I too shifted to TaTa Docomo from RCDMA. Yesterday morning my porting process is completed. Still my RCDMA is active and all incoming calls from RCDMA , RGSM and BSNL calls coming to RCDMA only. Call from all other operators are coming to Docomo. Please cross check with Docomo about early bird offers. Still early bird offers are not activated on my number. I gave a complaint to Docomo. I will update you soon. Regarding network, Docomo is premature as compared to RCDMA. But I am happy with Docomo because signal strength is excellent at my home and office. For Roaming , they have shared network with Idea & Vodafone. Roaming charges are equivalent to other network when we are in shared network But when we are in Docomo network it is 1P/Sec. After calculating with RCDMA present postpaid plans, I felt Docomo is cheaper.

04:02.2011 11:00 pm. Number is ported. Now I am facing following problems, As per website,I suppose to get 100 MB data free, itemized bill and 1p/6sec T2T local. But as per CC these are not activated for my account. CC guy is not ready to take complaint for it. Not able to send and receive SMS Not receiving incoming calls. But able to do outgoing calls. Still I am receiving a SMS for VAS services to my RCDMA phone. I think the early bird (launch) offer is till 30th Jan2011 only, if you see the fine-print.. It is not at all worthy imho, as MNP was launched just on 21st Jan and seven FULL WORKING days are needed for porting (that excludes Jan26th and Saturday and sunday in between)... Early bird offer applicable to 31st March for postpaid. I am able to receive incoming calls from TaTa, Airtel and Idea. But not from BSNL and Reliance. I doubt these top two MNP port out operators are doing some wrong gimmicks.

Port in request is forwarded to Docomo. 03-02-2011 : Early morning 8:30 am called Docomo CC about MNP status. No info. 03-02-2011 : at 1:10 pm Got a call from Reliance. Call looks like formality. He asked me that why you want to transfer. I said that I want to migrate to GSM. Why not RGSM. I am using RGSM but I am not happy with RGSM. He said Thanks. Almost 7 days passed including holiday. Let see when my number will be ported. Hope I will update the port in status soon.
9. Not like that.If one operator lost 50000 connection with average ARPU of 200/- .It will be loss of 1crore.it is not small amount.Probably new port out customers are high ARPU.Till many users not aware of MNP.
10. Hi All, How is the network quality and signal strength in Pune. In Vishranthwadi Reliance GSM network is pathetic. I am planning to take a new GSM connection. Comparatively TATA DOCOMO network is good in my area. How it is rest of Pune ,maharastra & AP
11. Will MNP Help "The Big 3 Cartel"?

First of all they need to improve their arrogant customer care and also improve the Tariff plans.
12. I think it may not happen today also. May be it will happen on 27th.
13. Really I am not understanding the Analysts and Telcos view about churn rate after MNP. Simply theu are considering only Postpaid customer retention. Why they are not considering Pre-paid customers and multi SIM users. For example I am using CDMA for last Seven Years.I don't want close this number. But I want GSM , so I took a Docomo GSM number considering cost of GSM handset and data rate. Now I am using two mobiles every time . Because I don't want to miss the calls to old CDMA number. Once MNP is roll out, I will shift from CDMA to GSM and start using only one phone. Similar way few of my friends using multi SIMs. There are lot of high ARPU users in pre-paid too as compared to Post paid.
14. Does any one tried BSNL 3G Data card. user experiences and reviews are appreciated.
15. TaTa Docomo website is showing on their home page for MNP count down time. So MNP roll out on Jan'20 will be realistic.
16. 80,000 subscribers opt for MNP service in HaryanaMansi Taneja / New Delhi January 15, 2011, 0:52 IST Haryana has seen a significant jump in the number of subscribers requesting mobile number portability (MNP) since the launch of the service in the state on November 24. There have been porting requests of about 140,000, of which 50,000 were rejected. The actual churn was 80,000, according to initial estimates made by the service providers. Haryana has a total subscriber base of 19 million. MNP allows subscribers to change their service providers while retaining their numbers. The facility will be introduced in the rest of the country from January 20. “MNP has become a hit in this initial phase. It is expected to gain momentum. Service providers are offering new schemes to retain clients, but the users are trying the new facility. The actual impact will be known after the all-India launch on January 20,” an executive with one of the operators, which offer services in Haryana said, on condition of anonymity. The view was echoed by other service providers. MNP is expected to increase competition between providers to improve their service. According to an earlier industry estimate, about 25 per cent of mobile users would like to shift to a new service provider.
17. Maximum time either I will be in office or in home. Fortunately signal strength is excellent at these locations. Docomo provides free missing call alerts. If some how I am out of coverage area, I will get a MCA. So that there is not much problem. It is much better than RGSM irritating & frustrating voice quality and signal fluctuation. Also I found docomo CC is much better than RGSM.
18. I am using 222 recharge from long time. I always got full talktime. As of now I am very happy with Docomo. No single issues. Except Network coverage. I feel Docomo network is still premature. But wherever network is available voice quality is excellent.

hey i too understand what r u saying but i think u didnt understood what i am saying.
look at the last line of the E-recharge vouchers. customer will get full talktime only in Rs 222 regular recharge else all other recharges services charge(10.3%) will be deducted.

19. Great A++++++++++ to Mr. Rajan
20. I agree. Voice clarity of RGSM is lot of irritating.
21. Good news. Waiting eagerly for MNP.
22. "We are planning to launch the MNP nationwide by January 20. Once it comes into effect, then consumers have options available even in a situation where some licencee or service provider loses his licence. Consumers can switch over, without losing their numbers or services, to other operators,” DoT secretary R Chandrasekhar said. Asked whether the launch of mobile number portability (MNP) will take place as scheduled, he clarified that all operators will launch the service on time. The DoT is likely to launch nationwide MNP services from January 20 this year." MNP to shield consumers
23. Please let me know tentative dates of MNP in Maharastra. I have decided to switch over to other operator ASAP. Reliance using cheating process. I lost 500/- in this month due to unauthorized deductions towards mobile internet and false SMS messages for cheating "Merawala offer". Useless CC. They speaks very rudely. If some one feels , MNP will be delayed further, I would like to go with new number too. I will ready to bear the problems while shifting to new number. Frustrated from Reliance.
