yeah, AMS mean Application Manager Software. the ams folder in rd2030 holds all the java applications which have been downloaded thru r-world. the only one which is permanent is the 00 directory, which holds the "Reliance Discovery Application"

Will have to wait for the SINGLE S/W version. That (U/l w/o Bitpim) Is currently out of question. Increase In File Title Size is also impossible, since the format only supports 10 bytes (10 characters) ringtone title size. yeah it'll surely be able to play both w/o renaming.(atleast hope so) keep them coming..

hmmm no idea about that, but why are u bothered as long as the phone is working fine with any one of the PRL's look, the PRL's do not have to do anything with you'r roming habits. it's just an identifier for the service provider (reliance) dont bother

well, it's showing PRL 2 because the phone is currently using PRL 2 for current operation.

i beleive that there are two copies of the PRL. PRL 1 and PRL 2 one of them acts as a backup

well, let me elaborate a bit. it's just like ashok says, that the software comes pre-loaded. but then how is it pre loaded?? isnt it? well, therer's this flash/EEPROM/EPROM/ROM on the phone's PCB. this is a chip which is (generally) mounted in a socket. this chip is programed using a rom programer and is then put into the socket in the phone's PCB.

the service provider can be surely found out. all u have to do is to do a WHOIS lookup on the persons IP. but generally, getting an ip address means that u can open a direct data channel to the persons machine. i'll not go too deeply into this cauz, it's kind of hacker stuff.

good question, well, look carefully at the phone's filesystem see a folder called "meldl" ?? and then ther'es this folder called "icndl" ?? isnt it? get any ideas? well, as far as i can guess just as the "meldl" dir is used to store melodys i.e. ringtones the "icndl" would have been used for storing icons/ wallpapers but it.. for some reason , is not used. that's all i can say

The PRL is -> it's the part of the phone's operating system. not exactly the operating system, but a part of the carrier signal infomrmation.
