  1. Hey Guyz,

Thiz Forum haz really helped a lot to enhance my handset RD2030. Thanx! :(

Anywayz gettin to the point, I Wud like to know whether we can thru Bitpim or Anyother EFS Readin s/w we can put Music filez (wav, mp3 probably) etc on RD2030 handset. Well i have sum ideaz dunno if it mite help.

Since the handset haz VoiceMail, there shud be a way we can add Audio Filez into that section. Whenever we wanna play any song we can open it from there  . In RD2030, even for Ringtonez we have to Overwrite an existin Ringtone if we want ourz we cant Add new 1z. Same with SMS, we cant add new to the Messages Section unless we overwrite it. So for the Voice, i guezz sum1 haz to send it (whc iznt possible yet) to uz so we can overwrite that with our own. Alzo wat cud be the format(extension) of the Waveletz Audio n Video stored in Multimedia Section. I tried many waveletz, none worked even the *.wv (Wavelet Audio n Video format of Wavpack).

Let uz know if Any1 of Yall can get that Voice Muzic Thingy workin.

    TC Yall. ;)

hello everyone ... once again :P posting after a looooong loooooooooooong time...

    dude alintanfern,

its not still possible since all voice ... is compressed (for 2030) using the QCELP codec... and thats qualcomm propritery.... anyone willing to crack the codec ? :help:

  2. sorry buddy, you cant do that.

as i told you before , JPEG IS A LOSSY COMPRESSION.

that means that the exact RGB values will never be preserved unless you save it in a NON-LOSSY compression format such as RAW BMP.

and if you do save it in BMP format the size is gonna blow up.

as a suggestion i might like to add is that you could actually write your own progressive compression alogrythm, is quite simple, but then the other problem would be that no other image viewer would be able to open your bitmap.

for a progressive set encoding (compression) what you could do is ...

store repeated RGB value sets into a single counted RGB set for each number of same pixel stored on the same line.

if your image has a high redundancy you'd get a very good compression.

if you want better compression, go in for a huffman.

lookup google for more info on huffman, im not going into the details.

  3. speakers with built in amplifier will have own power source?

oh god, i mean come on...!!!

how do u suppose that something can generate its own power ?

its not possible, how can it have its own powersource...

who the hell then needs MSEB or some crap like that..

we could all just s uck power for our homes from those speakers.. isnt it ?

  4. one that i know of is Keil C compiler for uP's and the like, dunno the exact dollar value, but to the tune of 10-15 k dollars.

but i really dont think that at rimweb we need topics like these...

which is the most expensive software is what we see today...

tomorrow, maybe we'll see something like... which is the best underwear ?

    i really dont think so..

i could've closed the thread altogether , but i guess you all should judge for yourselves.

  5. I will start with this question. In small mp3 players or mobile mp3 players, we have an outgoing socket, in which we can insert the pin of external headset, and listen the music. What will happen if I connect huge, 600-1000W speakers to the mp3 player? Will it still produce small sound only? Why?

Also, if we connect the small speakers of a walkman to a 1000W system, and play it in full volume, what will happen at exteme cases?

    hmm,

    Power (watts) = V(voltage)(volts) x I (current)(amperes)

    Power(watts)=I^2xR (Resistance)

    Power=V^2/R

so, we see that power is related to resistance.

now, for the speakers to have 1000w (PMPO) it should have approximately 95 watts RMS rating.

95 watts means something like 95=10 volts x 9.5 amperes , but 9.5 amperes is dangerous since it can easily kill.

Hence a balance has to made between voltage and current.

Now the walkman has say like 4 pencil cells

    4 pencil cells = 4x(1.5volts)=6 volts

and each cell rated at 3mAh ie. it can supply 3 milli (x10^-3) ampere of current for 1 hour.

Hence to get 95 watts rms at 6 volts,

    95/6=15.833 AMPERES!!!

which is not possible for the batteries to supply.

    Thats all there is ,

basically its just the principle of Conservation of Energy.

Electrical Energy converted to Sound Energy.

MORE Sound Energy = MORE Electrical Energy.

    :D

    use an amplifier ;)

  6. ooh boy,

you want real good security ?

    absolutely watertight ?

    theres only one solution!

    write your own firewall.

That way you can be sure , theres no rogue code in it.

Who knows tomorrow NORTON might launch INTERNET MUTINY !!?

I dont see the point in this discussion, you'r not protected, ur dead.

    Simple aint it ?
