  3. Handset Cost

Hii All, Can we have a price list for all the Reliance ready handsets available in the market ? That will really be helpful for people who are planning to change their handset. Shuvabrata
  4. Infocomm To Suffer Loss

This comes as a major blow to my expectations of RIM. And the impending issue to breaking the Reliance empire means that the steady supply of funds from RIL's petrochem business is going to stop or reduce. I am worried. Lets hope that the new top management amassed by Anil Ambani does a better job and still keeps the consumers happy by offering all the benefits of Mukesh regime. Long LIVE the RIM Shuvabrata
  5. Infocomm To Suffer Loss

The reason of the losses forwarded by Basant does not make sense to me at all. Here are the points that i would like to raise: 1. RIM customer care can hardly be called poor given the kind of customer service we are used to getting from state-owned enterprises like BSNL. And regarding ARPU, an avg. ARPU of Rs. 330 is more than the Indian Average. 2. Its the same with all operators given TRAI can't stick to a policy for long. 3. After BSNL, RIC has one of the largest spreads of network and its 80000 Km OFC network is unmatched in India. 4. This point is ridiculous. What happens to BSNL then ??? In my opinion, RIC is yet to come out of the RED coz of the huge Capex for their network rollout and the depreciation & interest costs incurred. Lets hope it turns profitable this fiscal. Shuvabrata
  6. I totally agree with you. Thats what i meant and TRAI need not intervene in this case. If the GSM operators could manage to offer FREE STD, let them do it in the best intention for the customer. The fact remains that GSM, although hugely successful in Europe, is able to handle far less number of user per cell site compared to CDMA. Even in Europe when they are switching to 3G, they rely on WCDMA or UMTS, which both uses an extended version of CDMA 2000 that Reliance is using. So let Airtel come up with a terrabit OFC network to compete with RIM. That will eventually meet the Govt's goal to increase indian teledensity to reach the desired level Shuvabrata
  7. Hidden RIM URLs

Hi, Is there any website from where non-RIM users can send SMS to RIM over web for free. Airtel and Hutch in Kolkata gives that service through their web application called web2cell. This SMS site is not free i guess, it charges you per message as per the plan. Right ? Shuvabrata
  8. In my opinion, TRAI should not intervene in this case. Let the market decide which company will prevail and that will ultimately benefit the consumers. But you never know with the limits of stupidity that TRAI has shown before. In any case it showed how ill-equipped the GSM operators are in India to challenge the technological leadership of RIM. I feel proud to be a RIM subscriber and lets hope that UNLIMTED STD prevails. Shuvabrata
  9. Hidden RIM URLs

Can anyone send me the URL from where we can send web to RIM SMS ?? It was mentioned in the first post of this thread but the URL wasn't there. Shuvabrata
  10. Free Incoming at a Charge!

Hii All, Tata Indicom has launched this scheme of Free Incoming while Roaming where all incoming calls while roaming in all Tata circles are FREE for a Monthly Rental of Rs. 100. Is there a similar plan in the pipeline for RIM ??? Can anyone provide any such details, since RIM has already launched the Chennai-TN roaming pack. http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3129 Whats your views on that ? Keep us updated or lets shoot a mail to the chairman's desk. Shuvabrata
  11. I am from Kolkata and i study in IIT Kharagpur (WB). So i face a lot of problem with Kolkata and WB being two different circles. I guess Reliance offers the same solution to all the metros at least. And at a later point of time all India roaming incoming free with a subscription fee. That will be great. Shuvabrata

Hii Mani, The problem is fixed. It was probably due to weak signal strength. Now R-Connect works fine with 5130, although the connection shows as LG RD 2030 connection. Thats not a problem though. Shuvabrata

  14. Unable To Install Rconnect On Lg 5130

Has anyone used R-connect with 5130.... with a third party cable. Since all of us here are stuck with third party cable only. Has anyone faced the difficulty using a reliance authorised cable as well. I tried to install in Win 98, where also the same problem is happening. Please tell me how to check whether the cable is faulty or there is some problem with the drivers or software ? I am using a cable from Netcom.... with files downloaded from www.relianceinfo.com .
