  1. TealOS - Palm Pre Lookalike

Works Flawlessly. No issues to uninstall or just disable whenever you want. I never liked any skin etc. till now but this is the first one I am using. Will take you a few days to get used to the swipe/wave etc. and also it'll be good if you disable cards for very frequently used apps which already have a hard button (like Phone/SMS/Contacts etc.) otherwise these apps keep adding cards. Best part is that the phone screen remains as it is while the apps screen is replaced by this thing. Compared to the normal apps screen this will be a little slow as you can't type the first letter of the app to go to that app but have to swipe up/down. But overall the only skin i have kept installed. Offcourse, there's no added/better functionality - only a much impressive look of swiping cards around and getting the wave launcher etc. So if you are very utilitarian then it may not be for you. I like it though and so does almost everyone who gets to see it. Here are some screenshots:
  2. Development Resources For Windows Mobile

THANKS A LOT. Was looking for something like this since ages.
  3. Strage. It works perfectly on my handset. Just tested it and it is blocking call instantly w/o any reset etc. Let me search on the developer's website if any one else is having this resetting problem. will let you know.
  4. I have been using Call Block 2.0 Free which is working fine on my Treo 755p. Attached Below. CallBlock_2_free.zip If it doesn't work pl mention if its giving any error or not blocking calls or what...
  5. I have been using tablet PC for last 4 years as i've RSI in my wrists due to excessive compulsive usage earlier in my career. I have HP TC 4400 - no problems in 3 years. though Tablets are priced at a slight premium, the build quality is much better than laptops as Cos have been trying to make this category pickup. have only upgraded RAM from 512mb to 2.5gb. Runs Windows 7 (much faster than XP) & PCLinux. Excellent handwriting recognition & good speech to text. Am looking at replacing with either lenovo X200 or HP TZ2500/TZ2 - HP still selling very bad old models in India so waiting for these to be available. Good deal at the mall adjacent to INORBIT for 40K
  6. TealOS - Palm Pre Lookalike

OK Have used it for past day or so and it seems quite good. Otherwise I don't use any other skin etc though i've tried all the ones posted in this forum. Advantage with this app is that my normal screen & wallpaper (which is displayed on pressing the hard button with phone icon) remains as it is and this replaces the Apps screen (hard button with home icon). Although the wave launcher took some time to master it is quite amazing once your thumb gets the hang of it. Also the recently used apps shown as cards thing is quite good with capability to 'throw out' any icon you don't want by swiping them upwards. you can bring it up in any app & it looks quite magical. The speed of moving cards left right etc. and also moving the app categories up/down/left/right is quite good. It doesn't take fonts from font smoother for some reason. But since the only text it displays is its menu (rest are all images) thats not too much of a problem. Thanks for a great app. This is the first skin i am keeping installed. Till Sadik gets us the REAL PALM PRE, that is !

Looks really interesting. Am trying it out now....
  8. HTC added two new models to its Touch series of smartphones: the HTC Touch Diamond2 and the HTC Touch Pro2. While the names lack imagination, the handsets get some spiffy makeovers and incorporate new features that bring a "people-centric approach to mobile communication." The two smartphones share some features between them, including the new single-view contact integration. This brings your complete conversation history, whether it be text, voice, or e-mail, onto a single contact card and can also be viewed on the in-call screen. In addition, the Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 are the first devices to employ HTC's new Push Internet Technology to help speed up downloads and rendering of Web pages on your smartphone. Finally, both devices use HTC's latest TouchFlo 3D interface, which brings more relevant information to the forefront and includes enlarged touch focus areas to make them more touch-finger friendly. Now, the differences. Obviously, form factor is one thing. The Touch Diamond2 is the next evolution of the HTC Touch Diamond, sporting a thinner design (4.25 inches high by 2.09 inches wide by 0.54 inch thick) and larger 3.2-inch, VGA touch screen with a gravity sensor. There's a new touch-sensitive zoom bar that makes it easier and faster to zoom in on Web pages, e-mails, text messages, photos, and documents. The Windows Mobile 6.1 device claims to have 50 percent better battery life and also includes a 5-megapixel camera, 512 MB ROM/288 MB RAM with expandable memory, and a 528MHz processor. Moving onto the HTC Touch Pro2, the HTC Touch Pro is still very much a business-centric smartphone and adds HTC's Straight Talk technology, which claims to improve the speakerphone quality using asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics. The speakerphone will also automatically activate when you the phone over and place it face down on a flat service. Like the Diamond2, the Touch Pro2 gets a boost in screen size. The smartphone is equipped with a 3.6-inch WVGA (480x800) touch screen with a proximity sensor and the aforementioned zoom bar. It also boasts a sleeker design and keeps the slide-out full QWERTY keyboard for all the messaging nuts. As far as availability, the HTC Touch Diamond2 is expected to ship in Europe and Asia during Q2 of 2009, while it will reach the rest of the world (read: the United States) later this year. The HTC Touch Pro2 is slated to ship worldwide this summer, but pricing for both phones was not revealed at this time. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13970_7-10164758-78.html http://www.htc.com/www/product/touchdiamond2/overview.html http://www.htc.com/www/product/touchpro2/overview.html
  9. Htc Touch Diamond 2 And Touch Pro 2 !

Both seem to be GSM though. Any idea if HTC will launch CDMA versions or not ?
  10. RIL is definitely planning to launch a telecom service once the non compete date is over. however, their plan is based/dependent on getting quite some regulatory changes, which may be difficult in the current changed scenario - but you never know what MDA might be able to push through. They plan on using WIMAX for last mile & also allowing Mesh network among customers- which is causing nightmares amongst current telcos. They are deploying the OFC network under guise of captive /closed group usage. I have a friend who is working on the project. But its a long shot i think, even for MDA.
  11. OK figured out why testmy.net is showing such high speeds. When using opera mini, the opera servers are fetching the download image used for test and compress it before sending it to opera mini on my Treo. So testmy.net is actually showing opera server's bandwidth at 3 Mbps and not my treo's. Is that correct ? From what I understand opera mini works by routing all traffic through opera server where it is optimized for opera mini/small display/etc.
  12. I tried testmy.net with opera mini and here are the screenshots: 1st I tried 512kb test - tried 2 times. same result. Then i tried 1024kb test - again 2 times. nearly same result. Finally tried with Blazer. It was even faster but the site kept forwarding to next larger test (if test is completed within 7 seconds or something, it fwd's to next size), went to 2 MB download test after which I quit: I know the speed can't be so high as shown by these tests i.e. 3Mbps, But I promise I haven't done ANY hanky panky; What is the meaning of this ? I leave that as an exercise for the reader to figure out ! Maybe my handset is special ?
  13. Can you please check speed before 1.08 update with some site like testmy.net which work on Treo browsers like blazer ? I forgot to do that so have no idea what speed i was getting earlier though I am checking the speed now (after update). Thanks.
  14. Internet is definitely faster after 1.08 than earlier. Offcourse its a little subjective but this rimweb page is 70kb & loaded in 2 seconds, emails also seemed to download faster. Posting from Treo/opera mini so forgive any formatting issues. Strange thing is that after update i have 10 mb more free space! although i did nvbakup before update & restored fully afterwards & all my apps & settings are present. maybe hard reset free'd up some cache etc but this didn't happen last time for 1.07 update.
  15. Have updated to 1.08SPNT. Also updated sadik's roaming prl again just to be sure. The 'radio reset before internet connection' problem is still there (error 3000), but seems to have reduced a little - in the sense that sometimes I am able to connect internet after making/receiving calls but sometimes I am not. Will update after some more trials.
  16. Does anyone know if any FAX software can work on Treo 755p/RIM ? like CS Fax 3.0.9 ? Their website says it works very well on CDMA network. But its not working for me on reliance. Technically, with the right AT commands it should work. Also if it works does anyone have the SOLUTION for CSFax 3.0.9 ?
  17. The New Palm To Look Out For

  18. The New Palm To Look Out For

Brilliant ! Any idea when it could be launched ? And whether it will work on Reliance or does it have ME*D etc stuff ?
  19. Are you guys using the Palm Desktop which comes on the CD with the treo 755p or is anyone using the updated Palm Desktop 6.2.2 from Palm Site ? Is 6.2.2 better in any way over the one which came with the CD (ver 4.xx) ? Thanks.

  21. thats weird coz the update to 1.55 adds support for plam treo755/centro well u can install the file attched ...it works for me ....after installation go to the pda reach folder on ur desktop and replace ur exe with soln Yes, that's quite weird. Tried with your attached file also but NO Go. Have tried innumerable times earlier also but it always connects with 1.54 and never with 1.55. Gives error 773 which as per the pdareach site can be solved by trying 1.55 & 1.54 as different models will connect with either of these. Doesn't work before or after replacing the exe with the solved one.
  22. Is it possible to set a Proxy in Opera Mini on Palm Treo ? Am using softick ppp to connect to office LAN over BT. Office LAN needs a proxy for browsing. While i am able to set proxy and use blazer I have been unable to find anyplace to put proxy settings for Opera.
  23. Is anyone able to use PDA REACH 1.55 with Treo ? I have been using 1.54 but I can't find any SOLUTIONS for it. Ver 1.55 doesn't work for me inspite of repeated attempts and refuses to connect with Treo. Or if anyone can post the SOLUTION FOR PDAREACH Ver 1.54 it'd be very good.
  24. After copying it, you have to run the file as mentioned in the original post where the files were attached. If you can't see the CDMA Updater icon check if you have "All" apps category selected at the top as it may not be visible in the "Main" apps category/page.
  25. Just wondering if there is ANY way to fix the Treo 'reset radio before using internet' problem ? Does anyone know why it happens ? I use internet/email a lot on the phone and while resetting radio before connecting is not a major issue it still gets on my mind sometimes. I was thinking if maybe we could all contribute to a 'Bounty' for any techie who manages to fix for this problem. I'd be willing to contribute 500/- or little more. Any takers ?
