Any success with LG 3500?
-
@thinkpositive Chillax buddy. Everyone needs a laugh some or the other time, and drali2 is kind in providing that laugh/amusement from time to time for RIMWEB members.

Thanks Umesh. Wish I had your number yesterday, i unnecessarily tripped over to poolgate. I went to that shop today, the offer is on still stocks last. he also has LG6230 for 4k odd. Unfortunately, he accepts no exchange
-
@ Honest: I tried Koregaon park, and Poolgate, but there were no such offers. They were selling that phone for 1400 only. THerefore my questions is still the same, can someone please point me to the exact shop (in pune/thane/mumbai)?
-
Can you give some location? JM Road? near Balgandharva? etc?
-
Where is this offer available, and for how many days? I want to replace my 1325, so can it be exchanged?

I think motorola will be better than LG6600. If you see LG6600 and it's GSM counterpart, the difference is clearly visible. LG6600 has very less quality (material wise).

That was 'soft'core

Need A Suggestion For Cdma Phone With Best Signal Strength Reception
ani_meher replied to Anupe's topic in Handset Suggestions
My nokia 2865 has the best reception among the RM phones I have used in past, but I think it would be same as 6265. If 6265 couldn't get range, I think it will be difficult for any other handset to get range as well. You may consider taking a GSM connection, or using call forwarding. -
I believe spice c810 supports most of the requirements. 1) Bluetooth (Yes) 2) live voice call recording (Yes) 3) MP3 player (Yes) 4) Web browser (not sure) 5) MMS (NO) 6) Expandable micro SD card slot (Yes) 7) E-mail (optional) (not sure) 8) Camera (Yes) 9) Atleat 3 hr. talktime (Yes)

XP to me. I tried Linux many times, but each time it's one thing or the another that leads me to change it. For example, I have one really old pc (guess Celeron <2 or even 1.5ghz,and 256MB RAM), and I wanted to use it just for viewing movies. I installed the puppylinux (it being one of the lightest linux distri), but still the movies were not smooth. I installed XP, increased page file, got KMP and voila! Even the MKV files are playing smoothly. I am having a bit problem with playing RMVB files, so OT any help regarding that ?

Great review, buddy! I didn't know some of the points you made, like FM couldn't be played thru the speakers n all. Keep it up!

Reliance Communications To Launch Gsm Service By Fiscal Year (2008) End
ani_meher replied to Arun's topic in Miscellaneous
Can someone pls explain the matter in plain language? What's the meaning of 'to interconnect'? How does it affect to us end users? Does this in any way mean that RM will start GSM services and CDMA users will be able to retain the same numbers on RM GSM? -
New Handset From Lg Rd10000, Features Like Iphone - Officially Launched!
ani_meher replied to P. K. Daga's topic in LG
I have long felt the need for full QWERTY keyboard phone for taking quick notes. LG 9800 doesn't allow that, you can't type full notes in that, only character limited notes. If this handset allows that, then maybe it will be worth it. But I am sure RM will kill whatever sales it might have by pricing it outrageously. -
The camera seems 'strictly ok'. No focus whatsoever. Reminded me of LG6130 camera.

Petition In Parliament For 'reasonable Restrictions' On Use Of Mobile Phones !
ani_meher replied to Honest's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Well, I guess the name of the petitioner must be Mr. Insecure Idiotwale, because the petition is nothing but controlling the public. Banning the use of mobiles while driving is good, because it may result in accident. But others are just spectacular BS. Why not just call a ban on mobiles themselves, and go back to good old landlines?! As per carrying the phones to "places of worship, cremation ground and burial places", I have already seen this happening at shirdi as well as tryambakeshvar, where you can't carry a cell phone inside the temple (which is personally very rude for me. They should just ask to shut the damn thing off and if anyone is caught, then some fine can be applied to him). The fact that this becomes a national news is sad in itself. (And Honest, buddy this is not against you ) -
Well as long as this part holds true "where the remote user should co-operate to this", this is perfectly legal. We can use it to monitor our home pc from office, or solving some problem on friend's pc from our own. There is this site : www.LogMeIn.com It is free, and it provides a very good solution for this. You can't 'hack' without permission, but if you get the permission from the owner of that pc, you can see the screen of his pc on your comp, and literally use his comp thru your desktop. Only thing will be, whatever you do on his pc will be displayed on his monitor, so you can't really work hidden from him.

There is no JAVA in c810 either.

Suggest Dual Sim Phone In Low Budget Segment
ani_meher replied to MOBILE FAN's topic in Handset Suggestions
FLY mobiles have got such handset in 5k range. Check them out. -
It will surely work on tata then. For reliance, wait till the techies on the forum guide you.
-
If it is bought in India, then it is a GSM version, hence it won't work on Reliance.
-
@ tushar.vaidya : can you post a small review about the handset please?
-
That's strange really. But how can you call your sim using your phone? Doesn't it fall under cloning?
-
Guys, as none are commiting to this handset, here is a bit info on it. I am impressed by the features, but not the looks, so tried searching the net for any further info. This chinese page has great info on this handset. Seems like a nice handset, with 3.5mm headset jack! http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/news/?news_id=6915 If you are like me who doesn't understand chinese, here's a google translated page: EDIT: Sorry guys, the direct link is not working. Copy paste the above link in google, and you'll get the option to translate it in the search results.
