My favourite and default mail id is Gmail. Somehow, the simplicity is just the best for me. For chatting though, I prefer yahoo. Not many of my friends are on Gtalk as they are on yahoo. Also, the smiley support in yahoo is great. But the chat from the page on gmail is too cool. I think there should be different choices for mail n IM in this survey.

It is nokia's speciality to create phones that look much better in photos that in reality. For example, 6255. I'll never forget my disappointment after first seeing that piece, after waiting for months for it to launch, and seeing those pics showing it as a much slimmer phone that it actually is.

The only thing Tata lack is the coverage. Their network is often so congusted, it is at times impossible to call any Tata phone in peak hours.

Well, no offence to the 6255 owners, but the phone is TOO big for its features. And inferior camera. Most importantly, if you search on web, there are images that show 6255 oh-so-slim. When I went to buy 6255, I had big expectations, but when I held it in my hand, I thought there is no way I can travel in crowded trains and buses with this brick in pocket. The phone is good for people who don't usually face too much crowd, but here in Mumbai, crowd and life are attached together. Again, no offence to 6255 owners.

Even I think it shouldn't create a problem. Only thing, it will considerably slow down the speed of working of computer.

What's the price? It should be around 2500, then it will be worth buying to those who want only phone and good talktime. Nokias are famous for HUGE battery life.

Don't forget the Balbir Pasha and Manjula ad. I am sure many Manjulas and balbirs are now in deep discussion with their lawyers! But really, it IS a bit humiliating, considering that the boy will be really teased by his school friends now.

It must be nokia's strategy not to give a complete handset. Each handset is missing some important feature or other. the 6155 and 6265 are not having expandable memory. and the 6255 is too much bulky to my taste. the prices should be around 10000-12000. nice handsets, but major drawback of not supporting expandable memory. And, again a series 40 phone. Sigh, I have stopped expecting anything from CDMA, especially in India.

The PDA part workingi is a good news. Have you transferred your number to other cell? I had some other problems with my 7135, and I am yet to go to ASC. My recommendation is, don't replace the m/b, especially when the repair costs are so high. This will be criticised by most members, I know. But the reason I am suggesting this is, 7135 comes without any warranty. Later, if some other costs arises, then the effective cost paid for the phone will be too high than the right cost. So use the pda, it's very rare to get a good pda at 8000 Rs, and use some other phone. Even when I am taking my phone to repair, mostly I will see to it that the pda starts functioning. I don't care if the phone part works or not, because one the phone and pda are combined, then battery life is hammered as hell.

I think, most of the time, its not your bill date which gives you warranty but the activation date of your phone on Reliance network gives you warranty. That means, even if you dont have bill you get warranty. If you activated the phone in less than a year, there are chances that Kyocera will help. BUT, since you have tried doing things like upgrading the softwares yourself, there are also chances that the warrany no more exists now even if the phone is not even one year old. Other members may throw more light on this. The phone doesn't come with any warranty. It's clearly stated on the receipt from Reliance.

Ya, this incidence happened near Pune University. But it is a few years back. There was even a Marathi picture based on this named "Saat chya aat gharaat".

And is the pda part still working? The SRCP is quite the most dreaded error on 7135. I remember reading that some readers fixed the problem by actually opening the phone and doing some simple stuff, you'll have to search on net. And make sure u transfer ur number to other cell ASAP, because if the 7135 goes dead, then it will be a big fuss for getting the number transferred to other cell.

Can anyone pls tell some inspiration or motivation you got from the movie? Because I just can't think of any. It's quite strange and curious to see a masala movie with petriotims twist, is stated as inspiring, satisfying and what not. Till the interval, the movie goes nowhere, and after the interval, the movie goes on a typical masala path, with hardly any unexpected turns. The most unexpected turns I found in movie were when the army/Rapid Action Force attacks activists preaching with peace, and then lastly the boys who all nation knows as school children. How the power of media and even people's organization is showed to be totally denied. But I agree, that liking or disliking any movie depends how you can connect or relate yourself to the plot. For the records, my most favourite movie is Swades, the movie that actually made me think for many days.

Listen buddy, I really, really don't want to get in a fight. but what inspirations do you get from movie? Can u tell me, what is the probability of such events occuring? the film is said to be based on Captain Gadgil, a Mig21 pilot crashed and the ministry blamed it on him. His mom gave him justice, and the ministry actually accepted their mistake. She, the brave mother, won it by legal, court matters. What does this movie show? That u should take law in ur hands to save it? Some scenes are very classic, i agree, but if u see a whole, u'll see nothing but a typical hindi cinema, with real life twist. Since start, all the friends are boozing, enjoying, flirting, suddenly a twist occurs, hero falls in love, then country calls, hero sacrifices himself. Have they shown a single hope in politicians? This movie just cashes on present feelings in youth. And sorry, but I don't think watching or liking any movie makes you an Indian either.

The phishing scams are hitting the email scenario quite hard now a days. I received an email from someone claiming to be from E-bay! It's very obvious that it was a very poor attempt. If you have received any such mails, do post them here. Here's the 'Warning' from ebay!

Hey guys, after seeing Rang De Basanti, frankly, I found nothing great about it. Sure the direction and acting is cool, but what's the substance? The story is built on events that just can not happen in India. Media will fry politician's balls if they do anything like that. In the end, when the tear rolls out of the pilot's mom's eye, it was so damn filmy, that it ****ed. Seriously, besides the Krantikari story which is told fabulously, the film is so typical hindi type. How the heck can you explain a politician coming and accepting an actor's role in a film? The movie is ok to good for 3 hrs, but if you are finding inspirations from movies, and especially like these ones, then frankly buddy, you need a time out.

Hey, LG 2330 and 6130 have same charger, so mostly these will be inter operatable.

Ya, I am one of those unlucky users. I am yet to give the 7135 for repairs. Do check my "7135 Blues" thread before making any decision. BTW, is there any smartphone around 10,000, not necessarily in RIM, and more trustworthy than 7135?

Fully agree. Hoping that RIM will ever launch these phones is like ... well, just no such hyper example. BTW, what happened to the much hyped iPod phone (I hope they are not calling the 6230 as that phone), the caller tunes, and all other jhols?

My 7135 was working perfectly till sunday. Sunday afternoon, when I was in a call, it was suddenly cut down. In evening, I checked that though the network was there, I could neither receive nor make calls. i checked the Service programming setup, there all the fields were blank I remembered the Directory number n Phone number, but I didn't remeber the Home SID. I called up Ashok, n entered the SID as 14655, but still no avail. Next day, I went to Kyocera Vaashi Service center (it is now shifted from worli). He couldn't go the th eprogramming menu itself, I showed him how to. He told me that the MIN (mobile identification number) should be there. He took my ESN etc. He got the MIN number today, and he told me to insert it in the place of directory number and telephone number in SPC mode. I did it. Now the phone can make only 2-3 outgoing calls, before it returns to the same problem. Sometimes it refuses to start up even after reset, sometimes it hangs while saving the SPC settings. I guess it is because of instability of phone software. What do the experts think? Also, can someone pls guide me in the updation of phone firmware? EDIT: Ok now it seems working. But still. I am not sure about it's stability. I still need to upgrade the software I think. EDIT2: The phone is suddenly hanging, ie stops making/receiving calls on after any random incoming/outgoing call. Pls, I need that upgrade ASAP.

The 7135 is still lying lifeless with me. I haven't got much time in past days to take it to the KYO SC. I'll take it there maybe tomorrow, and see what they have to say. I'll keep you updated on this front.

It is possible. I remember some pics of handsets that had not the numberpad, but just some 3-4 keys, maybe for different numbers. Perhaps u could get it programmed from service center or data cable.
