i was working on a Bloomberg-it is basically a terminal pc used by share market related offices- and I noticed that on the wallpaper, there was info like last reset, system running from so much time, for so much time etc. It was looking very cool, and I didn't see any extra applications running in the system tray either. SO what is happening? Can we do in on home pc?

I don't think there is any difference. In fact, atleast to my eyes, 2340 looks cute than 2430. no difference at all in battery life/call quality/network reception. Mostly same hardware in different clothes.

I prefer resco explorer. Looks just like windows explorer. If anyone knows any other more powerful file manager, do let us know.

I found that Launch'em is much much better n faster that ZLauncher. Is there anyone who has experience of ZLauncher?

It is always better to uninstall the new version, if you are downgrading. Unstalling in palm means deleting the respective files. If you have any file manager installed, like resco explorer, just browse and find the files by webpro name. there will a db file also. Just select n delete all those files. then you can install the new file. As far as possible, I avoid overwrite in Palm. Ashok, I have answered a question directed at you, hope that's cool with you.

I was searching for the term "palm 7135" without quotes on google. When I hit search, it showed a result page, but I was remembering that in the morning itself, that particular link was on the first page itself. So I hit the search button again, and then, on next page, I had the morning's link on the front page! And I noticed, that even the total searches found number was significantly different. Now, does this mean the pages are not stable on ranking? It is ok for ranks below 10-25, but it was a second number result. The first site was constant. here are the two pics. Look at the second result, and the line "displaying 1-20 of...". Can someone explain me why this has happened?

Try Foobar. http.//www.foobar2000.org/ The best mp3 player, if you can get used to the plain interface. It just blows other mp3 players by sound quality, and it is very light weight as well. But no - or just a few - eyecandy. Don't expect the looks of winamp.

Hello Mr.Detective. If you see the start of this thread, you will see that it started with a question about the legality of this site. It was not made any complaint, or any help-in-investigating sort of posts, but a simple opinion seeking. Later, the guy's intentions revealed, and the case was solved. But then, that guy came to Rimweb, and started making claims that in all this jhol, only he is saying is truth, and everyone else is fool. What do you expect from so many members, that they will keep cool and entertain this guy, hoping with our fingures crossed, that some wise guy like you will be playing mr.detective? I am not taking it on you or anything. I know you are on the good side. Only thing is, you just can't expect that everyone will understand by their own what is YOUR motive. If you had such intentions (noble, I must admit), you should have informed atleast the mods by pm, and they could have in turn notified us by some way or other. And pls, don't start with 'you guys are all dumb and only I am wise', in order to avoid further complications.

Lots of softwares were installed, but none were conflicting with the phone. However, I suspect some hacks were tricky. Yes, I received a call while syncing the phone, n I did remove the phone from sync cradle, but I don't think it showed me any error of any sorts, both on phone as well as pc. I transferred the mp3 to the phone by using a external card reader, by moving the files in /Audio folder. I just can't stand the slow transfer of the Downloader. I tried overclocking the KYO. It was running on 39MHz for few hrs. But after listening mp3 for 1 hr, I felt the phone was getting bit hot, so I disabled any overclocking. For SMS, I don't receive much SMSes. And the few I do receive, I didn't have any problem. One more thing, when I tried to upgrade the phone software, it doesn't accept the SPC code as 000000 as well as 111111. What to do?

I tried to upgrade the phone software using posted softwares. but it is showing me 'wrong SPC, phone will not accept any read/write command for next 10 seconds'. Fully agree. You just can't expect the image quality of a cell phone to be as good as a digicam. Maybe u can after some period, but not atleast now. Before going for mp3, make sure u check the mp3 quality of the mobile. You will be hearing it thru the earphones, so u will notice the difference. Don't compromise on this point, and go for only that mobile which has mp3 quality acceptable by u, and not even a notch below that.

Ya, this reader is good for quick viewing. But it certainly lacks some fine points. If you want to print from pdfs, then you may not want to use this. It screws up printing, but the on-screen reading is good.

But is it so quick, that google has removed the 4800 - 659 = 4141 entries in a few seconds? I doubt it would be so quick to remove 86% entries of any result in a few seconds.

Did you see something like this below when you searched the second time ? In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the xxx already displayed. Google has changed how they handle crowded results. The most extreme case of this is searching for Yahoo on google. Google claims to have millions of pages in their index, but they only will display about 40. It looks like they have become very aggressive with their clustering of results. As you can see in the screenshot, there is no such indication that they have omitted some entries. These two seraches were done just few seconds ahead. I first typed the search query in the firefox google search bar, and hit enter. After it displayed the results. I again hit enter, this time while selecting the search term in the google results page, and got the second result set, with very less found items. I don't think google filtered the searches. Atleast it didn't say so.

One more cool tip. We usually have to call the RIM CC from time to time. So we have to go thru that tedios process of press this n that. Now in 7135, we can save that trouble. When you dial any number, press the arrow down key, there are options like Time Pause, Hard Pause etc. The time pause will do what it says, I don't know yet what the hard pause do. For contacting to the RIM prepaid CC operator directly, enter *333, time pause 3 (for english language), time pause two times, 4 (for inability to use service), time pause, 2. So the number looks like *333,3,,4,2 Dial, and after some time, wait in line to talk to some CC guy! Cool, isn't it?

There seems to be some "changing contrast problem" faced by some people (not in india) When I have my contrast adjusted about halfway it almost goes brighter every time I close and reopen the flip cover. how did u update ur firmare? ur self or the service center? the old info (atleast on my cell) Phone software: MZ 1.0.34 (yours 1.0.44) PDA Software SZ 1.0.20 (same as u) PRL 1 (yours 2) So thee pda sofware is same version, the phone software version and PRL are different. Using the date book. Either click on the date book, or press the first hard key from left. You can set the alarm from there. The alarm ringer will be the one that is set in the pda or phone prefs. But it is next to useless. Use the BeeOnTime software for this, for getting comparatively louder alarm. I am still searching and experimenting how to use vibrations alarm on 7135.
