Because some of my friends in Bihar/Jharkhand and Delhi NCR circles are complaining that they are unable to receive incoming calls from a few networks after getting their numbers ported out of Aircel. For example, a friend of mine who shifted to Gurgaon two weeks ago got his Aircel (Bihar/Jharkhand) number successfully ported to Airtel (Delhi NCR) yesterday. But after porting, he is able to receive incoming calls from all networks except Jio. Whenever a Jio customer tries to call him, he/she always hears the following message- "All lines in this route are busy, please call after some time". What is the reason behind this? Is there any solution to this problem?

    You're welcome my dear friend. Now, you can see in my earlier comment that I've added another link to generate UPC code from Aircel website. This is just a small gesture from my side to help millions of those Aircel customers like you who are unable to port their numbers due to various issues like no network, customer care numbers not reachable, offices closed, etc..     Aircel has launched an online portal for generating UPC codes for its existing customers. Those who are still not able to generate UPC code through SMS because of network unavailability can get it done online. Just click on one of the following link(s):-

    After opening the webpage, enter your 10-digit Aircel number, last 5 digits of your SIM number (which is printed on your SIM), select your home circle (if required), and then click on Generate UPC.

    @me_saket, the screenshot was taken on a Moto G4 Play handset that I am using for the last 1 year, updated to Android Nougat version 7.1.1 recently. There are three different preferred network modes in it (just like all other 4G handsets available in the market), and now I'm going to share with you my personal experience using a Idea 4G SIM in that handset on each one of the network modes (as Idea has its own 2G, 3G as well as 4G networks in Bihar/Jharkhand). Below are the three different modes discussed in details:-

    1. 2G - In this mode, the phone scans only the available 2G/GSM networks, because whenever I select this mode, my SIM automatically latches onto Idea's 2G network only and does not latch onto its 3G/4G networks even if they are available at that particular place, and either 'G' or 'E' is displayed on the left side of the network bars,

    2. 3G - In this mode, the phone scans only the available 3G as well as 2G networks, because whenever I select this mode, my SIM automatically latches onto Idea's 3G network wherever available, and in such a case, either '3G' or 'H' is displayed on the left side of the network bars. In areas where 3G network is not available, it automatically latches onto the 2G network and either 'G' or 'E' is displayed as mentioned in Point 1 above. However, in this mode, the SIM never latches onto the 4G network even if it is available at that particular place,

    3. 4G - In this mode, the phone scans all the available networks, i.e., 4G, 3G as well as 2G, because whenever I select this mode, my SIM automatically latches onto Idea's 4G network wherever available, and in that case, '4G' is displayed on the left side of the network bars. In areas where 4G network is not available, it automatically latches onto the 3G network and either '3G' or 'H' is displayed as mentioned in Point 2 above. And, in areas where neither 4G nor 3G is available, it automatically latches onto the 2G network and either 'G' or 'E' is displayed as mentioned in Point 1 above.

    Now coming to your point, I am quite sure that the new code belongs to a 4G network because it is displayed only when I scan the available networks using 4G mode. Whenever I scan using either 3G or 2G mode, the new code is not displayed, just like Jio. And, talking about CellOne which is not a 4G network, well it is displayed in 4G mode as well, because as I mentioned in Point 3 above, the 4G mode scans all available networks, whether it is 4G, 3G or 2G.


  5. Since last 1 month, while doing a manual scan of mobile networks, I am always seeing a new network with code 405 882 in 4G/LTE mode in Patna (as you can see in the screenshot attached). Whenever I search for this network code on Google, it says this code belongs to S Tel in Bihar/Jharkhand circle. But as per my knowledge, S Tel no longer provides mobile services in Bihar/Jharkhand as the company's licence was cancelled by the Supreme Court way back in 2012. Can anyone confirm which company's network code is this? Whether S Tel is making a comeback in some way or other or this code has been allotted to some other operator after cancellation of S Tel's licence?

    Better to have an interested player like Voda or Airtel buying out Docomo rather than to have a sleepy/cribbing operator, not interested in the telecom business.. More of a bad news for buyers/sellers of CDMA phones as there's one operator less in the country.

    I agree with you as it is better to have an interested player like Voda or Airtel than to have an uninterested player like Tata. But, i don't think its a bad news for the CDMA industry because Voda already has a pan-India UAS licence and if it acquires Tata's CDMA spectrum and gets DOT's approval, it would be able to offer services on both CDMA and GSM platforms under its current UAS licence just like Reliance.

I think for some customers it would be beneficial if tata sells its entire telecom business to vodafone because tata docomo's cdma network has one of the worst indoor coverage in bihar & jharkhand. I had purchased a docomo cdma sim a year ago which offered me unlimited docomo to docomo calls (cdma & gsm) for 30 days but it never used to work inside my room which is at ground floor of a 5-storeyed building. I always had to go out of my room to get signal and make calls. And talking about docomo's gsm metwork, well its worse than cdma because docomo doesn't have its own gsm network in Patna, and has a tie-up with aircel which has the worst network among all operators in my area.

    But, i've been using vodafone since 2010. Even though its a bit costly (if not the costliest), it has the best coverage in my area among all the operators including airtel and idea. I get full signal all the time even at the basement.

    My question is- what's the use of freebies and cheaper call rates when you can hardly get any network?


  8. Same Recharge can be used for different benefit. Its the way retailer sends the details which changes as far as I know.

    Reliance has been using this funda for few years now.

    I think for normal voice call & SMS benefit retailer does recharge with denomiation similar to top up but for data benefit he has to use some other code.

    As far as i know, only BSNL, Tata Docomo and Uninor are the three operators which offer one particular recharge amount for two different benefits in the form of "top up" and "special recharge". Are you sure it is applicable in case of Reliance too? Because, the manager of Reliance mobile store in my vicinity says there is no such option or code on a Reliance e-recharge sim that offers a particular recharge amount for two different benefits as one recharge can be used only for one benefit.

    Sir, in Bihar & Jharkhand (and may be in few other circles), Aircel and Uninor are also offering a few recharge options which provide some added benefits if recharged online. However, these recharge denominations have been clearly mentioned on their respective websites as "online recharge". For example, Aircel website says, "Get 105% TT on RCs of 258 and 358 through online recharge". Similarly, Uninor website says, "Now recharge online and get extra TT- Rs.80 = Rs.90, Rs.170 = Rs.200, Rs.340 = Rs.410, Rs.470 = Rs.580".

    Now, as you said, if Rcom is also offering these recharges through their website for some other benefit, then why hasn't reliance highlighted them as "online recharge" and mentioned them on the website?


  10. Today, after a long time, i checked the RCOM website and was shocked to see a few really confusing recharge denominations posted on its 'Plans and packs' section. As per the website, for GSM customers of Bihar & Jharkhand, STV 14 is available in two forms:- (1) a SMS pack which gives all sms @5p for 30 days, and, (2) a 2G GPRS pack which gives 500MB free data for 3 days. Same is the story of STV 29 which is available as:- (1) an onnet pack with free local onnet calls from 11pm to 6am for 30 days, as well as, (2) 2G GPRS pack with 1GB free data for 7 days.

    To check this out, go to http://www.rcom.co.i...nsandPacks.html, click on GSM service, go to Special Tariff Voucher section and select Bihar & Jharkhand circle.

    Now the question is- how can a single recharge denomination be available in two (or more) variants? It seems like Anil Ambani led Reliance Communications is chalking out these new tricks to make more and more money by fooling its existing customers. Reliance customers in all the circles, beware, as you could be the next victim of such a practice.

    So one thing's clear that after 20th apr '09, no new customer would be able to recharge with 550 jaadu pack as the offer is available only till that day. But, does it also mean that the existing jaadu 550 customers would be charged as per base rates, i.e, local@Re.1 and std@Rs.1.50 after 20th apr? Anybody having ample information, plz clarify.

  12. I've been noticing since the last 4-5 days that if i either call *225 or send BAL to 53670, my account balance is Rs 7 less than the one obtained through *367. That means, if i call *367 my account balance is Rs 118.24, and at the same time if i either call *225 or sms BAL to 53670 my account balance is shown as Rs 111.24. What might be the problem and which one should be considered correct? Plz help me in this regard.


  13. I've got a lifetime connection and i'm interested in buying the lifetime jaadu pack of Rs. 550 but i wanna know a few things before doing so:-

    (1) Will i be able to use other jaadu packs (such as 195 which allows unlimited local r2r, 490 which allows 2000 mins local & std r2r free, or 49 which allows local r2r@33p) to reduce the call rates further, after recharging with this pack?

    (2) Will the validity of this pack lapse if i recharge with any other jaadu pack?

    (3) Drawbacks (if any) of this pack?


  14. NEW DELHI: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani led Reliance Communications today announced new pre-paid mobile service plans for its customers wherein local and

    STD calls for one minute duration would cost 50 paisa and one rupee respectively.

    This offer is available at a one time recharge of Rs 550 and for a period of lifetime, the company said in a statement.

    Called 'Lifetime Jaadu Pack', this scheme is available to both new and existing subscribers with lifetime validity.

    The same tariff plans would also be available for the post-paid customers with a one time monthly subscription of Rs 49, it added.

    The company said before this offer the lifetime validity subscribers were required to buy packs and special tariff vouchers every month for making outgoing calls.

    This scheme would eliminate such hassles, it added. This scheme would be available for recharge at more than 500,000 E-recharge outlets of the company.

  15. Hey friends!!! If ur a Reliance Mobile prepaid customer then there's a gr8 news 4u. Reliance has dropped the std call charges to Rs 1.50/min for all its Freedom and Lifetime customers from earlier Rs 2.65/min and Rs 2.99/min respectively. Further, the roaming charges have also been reduced. The new call charges are as follows:-

    (i) Local calls - Rs 1/min

    (ii) STD calls - Rs 1.50/min

    While roaming:-

    (i) Local calls - Rs 1/min (within visited circle)

    (ii) STD calls - Rs 1.50/min (outside visited circle)

    (iii) Incoming calls - Rs 1/min (from anywhere in India)

    If ur std and roaming charges are higher than the above mentioned tariffs, just send an sms as
