1. Incoming MMS on LG 6130

Two helpful tips to those not able to send mms to themselves: 1. Use format 91<MDN.No.>@mms.ricmail.com only. MDN No. is 93XXX XXXXX. If u use MDNNo. or 093XXX XXXXX, then u will get the error messages while downloading. 2. Very importantly Check settings on site under preferences for Secondary devices retrieval. Enable it if it is disabled. One Good news: MMS portal was used by me also extensively last month i.e., in April 2005 and there are no charges in my Bill, received yesterday, for the same. So unlike R world where Reliance charges Rs. 3 for sending every MMS and that too limited pics and ringtones, here the choice is unlimited for FREE!! And unlike indiatimes u don't have to pay for every ringtone downloaded. So all you techies and lovers of MMS, go ahead and make hay while the sun shines. CAUTION: Today it is free, tomorrow no one can predict!!! Site address is http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal/servlet/MMSLogin
2. How To Upload Ringtones/wallpapers ?

Hi Arun, I am having LG RD 6130. It's a great handset with cool multimedia capabilities. However, I have checked it's files and directory structure both thru bitpim as well as QPST2.7 and am not able to locate the said meldl or wallpaper files. On opening of root directory, I see three subdirectories named ams, data and nvm along with two files $USER_DIRS and $SYS.FACTORY . 1. On expanding ams, I see sub-directories having names 00, 01 and so on. In addition to two files named contentinfo and locale in this sub-directory, there are files named 01.jad , 01.jar, 02.jad, 02.jar and so on. 2. On expanding nvm, I see three subdirectories- nvm, prl and sms. Here also, there is no sub-directory or file to suggest anything about ringtones or wallpapers. 3. On expanding data, there are two sub-directories f and m. They too don’t contain any file to suggest it can be changed. I feel really disappointed. All my efforts have come to nothing. Will appreciate if somebody, maybe somebody using RD6130 can suggest how I can change ringtones or wallpapers in this mobile, especially since Reliance has stopped MMS portal too.
3. How To Upload Ringtones/wallpapers ?

GUIDE TO SPC CODE USING BITPIM: Well You can use the following procedure for getting your mobile's SPC code. Goto bitpim file system, open up nvm folder. you will find another nvm folder. In this subfolder you will find file with name nvm_0000. Right click on file and you will see command hexdump. click on hexdump to see a series of 0s and other digits. DONT CHANGE ANYTHING. Just note down the first six digit number in right hand column. You are right- that is your SPC code!!! Hope this helps.
4. Incoming MMS on LG 6130

I was able to send ringtones via MMS without any problem or delay yesterday. If you are experiencing any problems, just try later. Afterall its not an official way of sending free MMS ringtones 30477 Well it is official now guys!!! The MMS portal doesn't allow to send MMS anymore. I logged in using different mobile nos. today and it says you are not subscribed to this service. So there, bye bye to all the original ringtones and wallpapers.
5. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

I hv already tried BitPim 0.7.30, it can detect ur 6130 but not able to communicate properly. 30046 Hi Rajan Can u tell me which is the phone id u r using while connecting with bitpim 0.7.30 - is it the default VX4400 or VX6100 or some other? I have tried all the options but it doesn't identify the mobile. However, I am able to use PC sync software of LG comfortably as well as R-connect. So I know connectivity between phone and PC is not the problem here. Will be grateful if u can guide me on the issue!!
6. Incoming MMS on LG 6130

Well, after cursing Reliance and my timing of purchase(6th April) I was finally able to get thing going thru MMS server of Reliance. But, the whole thing s**ks. Except probably the guys who developed the server, nobody else knows about its existence in Reliance Customer Care. Further, I am pretty sure, even 100% sure, sending messages from the server will cost same as sending mms from phone, i.e., Rs.3 So, all you guys using the place for sending mms to urself( talk about JANUS!!!) be careful before ur mobile burns a big hole in ur pockets!!!(and I am not talking about radiation here:-) ) I would like to thank all u guys(are there some girls also???) here for posting ur helpful tips. Next , I am thinking of using the bitpim or some other software mentioned in technical section for uploading ringtones and wallpapers direct from my PC without using reliance site. Shall be thankful if some user of 6130 can confirm it can be done!!! Will help me proceed with a lot more confidence. Two helpful tips to those not able to send mms to themselves: 1. Use format 91<MDNNo.>@mms.ricmail.com only. If u use MDNNo. only then u will get the error message while downloading. 2. Check settings on site for Secondary devices retrieval. Enable it if it is disabled. Site address is http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal/servlet/MMSLogin
7. Incoming MMS on LG 6130

I am having RIM handset RD6130 of LG. Please refer to following link which states that a user can send multimedia messages not only phone to email but vice versa. http://rworld.relianceinfo.com/RWorld/html...saging_mms.html However, while I can send multimedia messages to any email id from my phone, I am unable to receive multimedia messages from any email ID to my phone. What is the reason? On contacting Customer Care on Email, I received following reply: However, I am still not able to receive Emails as MMS on my phone. Below is a copy of the paragraph which explains about multimedia messaging on Reliance website: Phone to Phone & Phone to Email MMS technology offers more than just broadening of message content. With MMS it is not only possible to send your multimedia messages from one phone to another (RIM to RIM), but also from phone to email, and vice versa. This feature dramatically increases the possibilities of mobile communication both for private and commercial use. Please see FAQs and User Guide to know more about MMS service and how to use it.
