  1. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Why WB? MTS is there. RCOM will have enough spectrum to continue CDMA SImilarly HP and Haryana. Jio have its own Band 5 spectrum
  2. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Circles in which Jio does not have 1800 Mhz and RCOM+MTS having only 5Mhz spectrum in 800. RCOM will close CDMA operations Eg Punjab, UP W, Bihar, J&K... Just my guess
  3. I seriously doubt on their intention to launch. Airtel has launched in 15 circles using same 2300 mhz spectrum. Infact reliance jio was the first company to start testing and adopt LTE. There were two options available wimax and LTE. Reliance jio opted for LTE. Started testing also. I think they would sell to an international telecom company like AT&T, America Movil or MTN. I guess they are taking clue from RGSM Launch. Whats the point of launching patchy network and ruining the brand name for once and all. Airtel use 2300 only for Data. Voice either switches back to 2g or 3g. it is difficult to get a pure VOLTE network. no other operator in the world gives that. I would rather wait for 6-9 more month to get a seamless VOLTE network on 2300/1800/850 Mhz instead of latching on it today

Not sure what is taking them so long. Should have launched in phased manner
  5. Partial hand written letter...never thought BSNL is in such a bad shape.. I hope after closing down CDMA network they can improve GSM network
  6. Nice to hear. How is the coverage as of now?
  7. Most of the LYF handsets supports LTE on Band 5 apart from regular Band 3 and 40 support Band 5 LTE will just change the equations between Reliance Vs AVOID
  8. LYF handsets now available at Reliance Digital Stores Supports Band 3/5/40 LTE, VoLTE, Wi-FI Calling
  9. List of CDMA + GSM Handsets

May be specific to CHINA. Lets hope for the best
  10. Should we start talking about Band 5 LTE now?
  11. All such articles mainly focus on spectrum holding... Dont forget AVOID is having best coverage, build over years of planning and customer feedback Jio will surely have blackspots for years. Airtel/Vodafone have enough cash and customer to fight Jio on pricing front as well. N if Jio/RCOM can do ICR for 4g/3g/2g...AVOID can also do the same
  12. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (“RJIL”) and Reliance Communications Limited (“RCOM”) today announced the signing of Agreements for Change in Spectrum Allotment in 800 MHz band across 9 Circles from RCOM to RJIL, and for Sharing of Spectrum in 800 MHz band across 17 Circles. http://www.moneycontrol.com/livefeed_pdf/Jan2016/RCommediarelease18012016.pdf
  13. OnePlus invites

    INA4-B5B0-CE31-2CEC INA7-6DA2-F13F-B1E8 One Plus X invites
  14. Virgin was only like marketing company. Kind of MVNO via some loophole RCOM here offers Voice and EVDO, Jio plan to use it for 4g Same spectrum you cant use for multiple purposes Jio does not hold Pan India Spectrum in 800Mhz where as RCOM have pan India 5Mhz in this band (1 Channel voice and 3 for Data) Should not be a problem where both the entities are holding spectrum
  15. Bad news for RCOM CDMA customers if below is true. Mukesh will kill CDMA so as to grab high data customers from RCOM. CDMA Voice will be surely killed to free up spectrum As per ET Sources say Anil Ambani-controlled Rcom next week will sign a pact with Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio Infocomm to sell its airwaves in the 850 Mhz band - which can be used for 4G LTE - in 12 circles through a trading agreemen http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/stocks/news/rcom-plunges-8-on-liberalisation-fee-demand-to-sign-pact-with-jio-next-week/articleshow/50560228.cms
  16. Roaming between Mumbai and Maharashtra

If ICRA is available then why No 3g services in Maharashtra by RCOM or Aircel?
  17. Try to get a handset from this list http://telecomtalk.info/list-rjio-volte-enabled-smartphone/147516/ N do give a review of the service
  18. Adding one more result (Touching 200Mbps)
  19. Some promising live demos I hope they are able to maintain such speeds when masses log onto network
  20. Roaming between Mumbai and Maharashtra

    Incoming is free.
  21. Only time will tell how successful Jio can be, they have already lost 1st movers advantage. By they time commercial launch happens they will have to fight AVOID group in almost all places AVOID definitely will have a better coverage, also most of the tariff cut by Jio will mostly be matched by AVOID In the end Customers will get better deal for sure.(Something what happened in 2011 for Voice calls) How will players like Tata/Telenor survive this 4G fight will be a challenge. RCOM will benefit from spectrum pact with Jio, But paying 5K crore with already 40K debt is a huge burden on them Merger of RCOM/Aircel even if it happens will not have any advantage as such. Both are debt laden companies with unclear future
  22. Internet Service Provider Name / Type : Telstra/Mobile wireless(4G) Plan you are on : Mobile Postpaid Plan Location you are based on : Melbourne(Australia) Device:- Nexus 5X Comments:-Telstra have launched world 1st 600MBPS CAT 11 network, But that is a different story as handsets are not available to support it.
  23. Wait for couple of months if you are looking to get a new handset. If urgent you can look for any handset which support 4G on 2300/1800/850/800 Jio has yet to announce the service and one really does not know if the fallback will be GSM or CDMA of RCOM Even RCOM is looking to launch 4g on 800 Mhz, which may mean moving EVDO/CDMA customers or drop is quality of service With talks about 3 way merge of Aircel/MTS/RCOM and RCOM/JIo spectrum sharing deals who knows what is in store for Customers after a year. One thing is for sure CDMA Voice/Data will not survive in India after couple of years
  24. VoLTE works only when both party are on compatible network and phones. Jio will need some fallback for sure
