  1. Tata Going For Min-min Charge

Rajan man, crappy business model = charging per second whereas they pay ADC/interconnect PER MINUTE! Thats what defies logic. Secondly using full talktimes don't matter that much - whom you call/usage patterns/sms/std/roaming etc need to be factored in too to see where you're getting best value.
  2. Virus/worm

I disagree TCP. Norton & Trend are the two best AVs around. Only problem is NAVs heavy footprint and slugish performance that pi$$e$ me off! Its way faster than most in terms of time-to-update search menthods, configs etc.
  3. Nokia 6255 And Palm

Dude one of the problems is that GPRS speed isnt "great" either! All config details are in the various 6255 threads around here. Go to the Nokia section and browse around.
  4. Should Camera Phones Be Barred!

Poll: Should Geeta be whacked on the head? If anyone wants to violate anyone's privacy they can buy a mini CAMERA to do it. Lets ban cams altogether!
  5. Rony: your limit would be set at startup but reviewed periodically -- maybe every 6 months or year or so not every day.
  6. Tata Going For Min-min Charge

Well its a stupid business model. Plus it makes for REALLY EXPENSIVE CALLS! It was like 3 bucks a minute!
  7. Web Based Mms

    Old stuff man.
  8. Nokia 6255 And Palm

Or you can get a Treo/Blackberry or Kyocera 7135!
  9. Phone Upgradation

I was hoping for a SIMPLE import function! But man that didnt work at all!
  10. Phone Upgradation

I did it the hard way. 1. I backed up my contacts using PCLink 2000. 2. Downloaded Nokia PC Suite 3. Copy pasted each number into its correct place in the PC Suite software (it screws up the last/first name), and the numbers too. 4. Transferred it to my mobile via bluetooth.
  11. All About Nokia 6255

This may sound silly... but you have to check the DKU2 option for it to detect it. But in case you've already done that... I have no freakin idea!
  12. All About Nokia 6255

All you guys fantasizing about me donating my 563. Yeah it will have to be another 20 foot flood in Bombay before I considering donating it to anyone! However bids, and by bids I mean Rs. 10,000 and over are most welcome.
  13. All About Nokia 6255

Puneet: Dude the 563 is still an AWESOME phone. And if anyone says otherwise I'll knock their teeth out. Dont you worry on that account!
  14. All About Nokia 6255

Hi as you can all see I'm now a proud owner of a 6255 too!!! Yipee Yahooo!!! I want to know a couple of things: 1. How do I transfer my phonebook (its in csv format and I've also managed to dunk it in outlook) to my mobile? Using stupid Nokia Phone suite gives an error! Even though it detects the phone on BT... it just wont sync! 2. Using RConnect through a BT dongle I can PAIR the phone just fine. Windows adds a "standard modem over bluetooth link". Now when I try to query the phone or connect to the internet it gives a beep and error "bluetooth failed". Although after that the query works. For Internet it says failed and tries to dialup a second time but that fails too. If I add AT+CRM=1 then the phone first beeps and says "bluetooth error" and then manages to connect after that. It works fine once its connected to the internet. But why does it give this error and how can I fix it?
  15. Should Reliance Reduce Prices?

For the last couple of days I have been getting around 8-9 KBps. Thats around 64-72 kbps. But usually its in the 130-140 kbps range.
  16. Now Phones That Let Parents Monitor Children

Yes well if you do anything outside limits it could hurt you. Take too many medicines, eat too much, take too much oxygen or play 50 hours non-stop. The games are fine (except ones that put porn in G-rated stuff). Just dont play them 50 hours without eating sleeping or drinking (alcohol)! Thats plain crazy.
  17. All About Nokia 6255

But you can charge your phone while on blue tooth right?
  18. Lg Rd 6130 V/s Nokia 6225

The 191 outshone the 2030 in every single department. Only problem with it was that it got HOT. But then again.....
  19. Lg Rd 6130 V/s Nokia 6225

I don't think LG compares to Samsung (especially the older models). I've used the Samsung 191 & LG 2030 as well as the flip that LG came out with... and LG came out like a new player who had a very crude product and here are my gripes: 1. The keypad ****ed as compared to Samsung's 2. The menu's were complicated and illogical 3. The interface and features (like name search etc) kinda dumb Thats why I chose the Samsung models over the LG ones. However to "improve" usability I noticed that in the LG 5130 they had completely ripped of Samsung's menu system! Although the keypad ****ed for people who have big fingers like me. I don't think LG has in anyway reached Samsung's quality/usability levels as yet in terms of design, build or innovation. You only have to look at the latest phones on offer from Samsung (not necessarily on RIM) to see that.
  20. Google Talk

Ashok: Google never plans to get out of beta.... just like ICQ. They're reasoning is good for Gmail. They can stop spammers/crazy-200-account creaters and all that stuff by making obtaining Gmail accounts "people centric" and now you have 50 invites/day. So you can invite the whole freakin world! Vishal: What do those commands do anyways that GTalk doesnt do by itself during startup? Most like register, auto update etc work by default.
  21. Suggest me a New Handset

Yeah your right 140 not 160. Dude you dont have to look so sad!
  22. Suggest me a New Handset

SAMSUNG 563 - can recive 180 char sms, send 160 chars, and has a memory of 99 SMS messages! Beat that lil LG users!
  23. Google Talk

Vinay: No you should download it because it fits your needs not because someone somewhere thinks its good. But unfortunately it isnt good. Its freakin awesome! SO DOWNLOAD IT NOW MAN!!
  24. Now Phones That Let Parents Monitor Children

Maybe they should get whacked on the b'utts for being such spoilt brats!
  25. Good point Bhutes. Also BSNL/DOT tends to lose a lot of money they would have otherwise got without lifting a finger. They wont allow a fixed revenue basis since the loss would be too high for them! Lazy bums! Because they get around 30/80p ADC per call depending on distance. Operators charge between Rs. 1-3 for these calls. Assuming 80p ADC (more than 50 kms)... assuming Rs. 1.20 /call you get a max of 583 minutes of talktime for Rs. 700. Where you get an ADC of Rs. 466. Why would they settle for Rs. 35?
