  1. tamilnadu circle,

lte works in my reliance 4g sim. postpaid. but my old cdma dongle not receiving any signal since wed. new data 4g sim too not working if i use it in mobile. i dont have wipod 4g. does any one of tamilnadu datacard users have their 4g sim activated? if so, same plan?

Update: it started working the next day.

  2. I'm from tamilnadu circle. the reliance datacard costs ₹2699 with a 15% discount online. i just purchased the revB datacard two months back and so called customer care for discount. they said new datacard is available in stores for ₹899. is it true? can anyone confirm having purchased it from the stores?

  3. my handset worked for data and sms out of the box. but when i updated the firmware and OS OTA, the latest firmware locked the sms function. the portico update blocks the sms function and i am no longer able to send sms. so kindly dont update untill a way is found to make the sms work.

if anyone has made this work in reliance, kindly let me know.

  4. hai,

As i already told you i received the bill where both 290 and 400 are charged. i told the cc guys and they registered a complaint. got a call from billing section yesterday and today got the message that the problem has been rectified and the extra amount has been withdrawn. well, this time they have acted fast enough and i should appreciated them, though they made the error in the first place.

  5. Hi Guys,

How is the billing done in freedom @ night.

Do they charge the monthly rental for voice apart from Rs.400/-

Please someone explain me the plan in detail. I was charged Rs.400/-(internet charge) + Rs.290(voice). Is that right?

I too got the same billing this month. charged 400+290, which is not right. I called the customer care and they have registered a complaint. said they will look into it and will get back to me later. Hope they get the billing right now onwards.

  6. Actually I was expecting some changes in the DAPO tariff. If the same plan continues, i am disappointed. mobile calls are costly at 1.20 rupees and the intercircle landline calls are exorbitant. Airtel provides mobile calls for as low as 30 paise (during night) and 50 paise during day all for a monthly rental of 150+30. Sad that reliance is not valuing loyalty. Will they ever learn????????????????? :(:confuse::confuse: :'( :'(

  7. i get around 15 kBps during download. max around 17 kBps. i use fwp lg 350R. the speed depends on the handset. i earlier had lg 2030 and it gave speeds you have mentioned. i got increased speeds with lg 7230 and lg 350R. if you are a late sleeper, this plan is a good one. but they can increase the time duration. they allow just eight hours.

  8. dapo plan is a bit costly now. while we pay 1.20 for mobile calls per min, in airtel talk more plan mobile calls are charged only 50 paise ( for an additional 30 rupees) and night time calls for 30 paise. does reliance give concessions during night time in postpaid? Airtel gives this for a monthly rental of 150+30. dapo customers pay 240 as rent. and i dont even talk of higher std charges to landlines. only plus point is 40 paise call to intercircle reliance mobiles, that too only within 400 minutes. Overall reliance ends up costlier. the saving grace is the rconnect facility.

  9. I do not have any doubts about "Insisted by government". If you follow the regulatory environment for telecom industry, you might be aware that DoT/TDSAT has declared FWP as WLL(M), robbing FWP of its fixed status. This was done after the failure of Tata/Reliance/MTNL to fix the FWP to the premises of the customer (which is technically a difficult task). The phone companies are fighting it out in the Supreme Court, but I doubt the court will reverse the govt ruling in this case. This was the basic reason behind withdrawl of Plan 700, as well as 770 RCV fro FWP prepaid.

As the WLL(M) phones are supposd to pay ADC, which a fixed phone does not, the easiest way to distinguish between the calls originating from both is if they have numbers in different series. Remember the days when GSM companies used to charge the calls to Reliance at the rate equal to the rate for fixed phones citing the inability of their software to distinguish between the numbers of RIM and FWP/Fixed phones. It might be perfectly possible that Government had decreed that all FWPs should have a common series throughout India. BSNL and MTNL WLL(M) numbers always start with a 20-XXXXXX.

Please check the 2nd paragraph of DoT letter No. 10-10/03-BS-II/Vol.VI

please clarify if the number migration is only for FWP and not for FWT. the dot letter makes me feel as though FWT will be treated as fixed lines and so will be allowed 180 second pulse from a bsnl landline locally. the bsnl website states 180 sec pulse is for basic to basic and FWT. :) :'(

  10. So now, what is the exact position? Does BSNL charge 0.95 or 0.30pm?

ANyway, Reliance also has made call charges local between Chennai-TN and Vice versa for fixed lines also. The only distinction here, is DAPO users will still pay inter circle call charges. Reason unknown to CC??????? haha hahaha...

i dont think the circle definition will be different only for the dapo customers. if reliance has made it local, it applies to the whole network. May be the cc guys are wrong. Lets hope so.. :'( :)
