  1. Anybody knows when it will be launched in Delhi? UPDATE: I just called reliance customer care they told me mnp is coming to Delhi from 11th dec and i also asked about Bihar circle it is coming from 19th dec. The customer care person was so polite in answering my queries that i was amazed. People please call and ask about your circle and update us and then we will have entire mnp schedule.
  2. Videocon launched stv 17 for Mumbai circle which offers all calls local and std at 25 paise for a period of 30 days. source: http://telecomtalk.info/videocon-launches-stv-17-local-and-std-calls-at-25p/45388/
  3. Will circle to circle mnp also be implemented? it looks so if i were to go by this article http://www.livemint....of-MNP-but.html But i thought it is going to be intra circle only. Someone please clarify
  4. Just sent a sms to 1900 got a reply from 1901 instantly that '' your unique porting ID is AD23***9 and the expiry date is 11/17/2010''( i have masked the numbers in between with stars as i dont know if it can be misused). The bad thing though is that Airtel charged me rs10/- for this sms.
  5. Can we club more than one voucher at a time? and nice plans from tata
  6. This launch looks like a joke to me NO advertisement in any paper no hoardings or boards atleast in my area, sim cost rs 49/- and requiring FRC of rs 101/- Tariff is also not so good local at 40p and std at 60p. Has anyone tried it in Delhi let us know about their experience.
  7. I saw on cnbc today that government is considering merging of 22 circles into one to stop roaming charges. On further serch i also found this article with economic times. If it is done then it will be a very good thing for us consumers. source: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/news-by-industry/telecom/Tough-call-Roaming-charges-within-India-may-go-soon/articleshow/6744663.cms
  8. But Karnataka is zone 2 so it should be implemented after zone1 (as said by Mr Raja today) anyways no need to speculate as picture will get clear on 1st November. We have waited too long so 20-25 more days does not matters.
  9. Samsung Mpower TV S239

speed dial is limited at 9 keys 1 to 9 can be assigned for speed dial. The voice quality is good, loudspeaker is loud if you use it for calls and clear too but music playback and ringer is not as loud as some other phones(but it will be sufficient). No problems with the font size as it has a very large screen.
  10. Well number of mobile connections out now is about 60 crores. The connections are about to be 80-90 crores in coming2-3 years and there is no way on this earth to verify that many connections. I am assuming that verifying means linking these connections with permanent address. Do 80 crore people in our country own a home? I dont think so. Firstly all telecom companies put together have so much lobbying power that they will not let government implement it easily. Even if they fail to stop it then they wont take interest in it and would find some way to work around it as their men have to do the verification as government does not have enough police manpower to do this. Next comes the corruption part as even if police or some similar agency were to do this they can easily be bribed(we all know how driving licence to passport can be made in no time if you spend some money). Lastly i read some news headline that govt wants simcards to be delivered as credit cards but the problem is number of credit cards in India=18.3 million and number of sim cards =650 million. And the thing is all this is done to prevent terrorists from using sim cards? when ak-47s to all kinds of drugs and what not is being smuggled to India then how tough would it be to get some foreign sim cards or satellite phones. where ever there is money rules are bent or broken and telecom companies will be bigger loosers then customers if this is strictly implemented and lets not forget all telecom companies put together are atleast worth 100 Billion dollars...(could be even more its just my guess).
  11. Samsung Mpower TV S239

I purchased this phone yesterday in Noida for rs 4800/- so far the impressions are all good. Signal reception and call quality is very good and battery seems good too but i cannot say for sure as i havent even spent one day with this phone.Size is neither sleek nor bulky screen size is great for a candybar phone. Software is also better and somewhat improved version of my metro gsm. The things which i did not like is the absence of 3.5mm jack and media player wont play songs in background. I also have some doubts about the plastic quality but it seems durable enough. i am attaching a few pics please bear with me as i have 2 mp camera in the phone which i am using to shoot pics.

  17. Samsung Metro TV at a glance!

So i am assuming that all the users who have bought this phone are satisfied with its performance and all agree that it has good network reception, very good call quality and good battery performance. What about software is it good and stable or does it hangs or switches off or freezes automatically? I am planning to buy this handset in a weeks time and will like to know your opinion on above mentioned things and any other issues which you might have experienced.

  22. Friends we know there are forces at work who do not want mnp to come. They are trying their best and have delayed its implementation by a year, but they cannot stop its implementation they can only delay it. They might be able to delay it for next6-8 months but after that it will definately come. I hope politicians and babus under their payroll wont say that mnp is impossible to implement in India when Pakistan has it. Nor will DOT take back its decision to launch mnp in India.
  23. yes try uninstalling nokia suite and then install NPS see if it solves the problem. If the problem is with mobile phone itself as you are suggesting then you should take your phone to service center and get it checked. you can also ask other people who have bought this phone to check if they can.
  24. why dont you try installing samsung studio on a different computer which is clean of any nokia software. it is not necesary that the problem is with samsung studio it could be with your pc too. If you can check on other pc it would be best but if you can not do so then in order to help i would like to know the your operating system and list of programs that you have installed on your pc.
