  1. R-connect Charges

On an average people don't wait for the night to connect to internet. Peak Off-Peak- Remember? So my calculations are for the majority of people. How abt that?
  2. R-connect Charges

Hi! For those who are confused I wish to put light on Internet charges: 1. Rconnect charges are on prorata basis if you deactivate it. 2. No RConnect charges for Reliance Wireless Phones. 2. Deactivaton cannot be done within 24 hours of activation. 3. Dial *412 for Activation (Mobile) 4. Dial *4120 for Deactivation (Mobile) 5. 40 paise per minute internet charge for Mobile ---Here if you are on the internet for 31 minutes you are charged Rs.12.40ps ---plus one days RConnect charge if you deactivate it (after 24 hours) 6. 10 paise per minute internet charge plus 90 paise or Rs.1 or Rs.1.10 (based on ---Tariff Plan) for 3 minutes (1 pulse) for Fixed Wireless Phones. 7. If you are on the net for 31 minutes using FWP you are charged 31 times 10ps ---and 11 pulses (Rs.1.10 x 11 if under 500 plan) 8. If you are on the net for less than 90 minutes per day on an average then FWP ---is the cheaper option 9. If you are on the net for more than 90 minutes per day on an average then ---mobile is cheaper because Rs.200 per month is fixed whether you sit on the ---net for 8 hours or 1 hour per day. Lets take charges per 3 minutes : FWP - 10ps x 3 plus Rs.1.10ps (for 3 mins) = Rs.1.40ps Mobile - 40ps x 3 plus + Rs. 6.67 (one day RConnect charge) Here if you are on the net for 1 minute FWP wins. Infact FWP wins if usage is less than 90 minutes per day. Now Lets take charges per 90 minutes per day : FWP - 10ps x 90 plus Rs.1.10ps (for 3 mins) x 30 = Rs.42.00ps Mobile - 40ps x 90 plus + Rs. 6.67 (one day RConnect charge) = Rs.42.67ps Till here FWP is cheaper and after this mobile wins. If I sit on the net for 4 hours today, using Mobile I pay Rs.102 and using FWP I pay Rs.112. Similarly if I sit longer I benifit using Mobile compared to FWP.
  3. Accessing PhoneBook in RD2030

My problem with LG RD 2030 is, I select a name from the phone book and press call it shows me the same name that I selected from the phone book but the number attached to it is the no. from where I received the last call from. The first time I received this error I thought the phone has changed my phone book entry also. But my phone book showed the name with the actual number stored. So if I again select the name from phone book and dial (press call) it dials the right number. Though in my last dialled calls' list it shows me the name of the person with the wrong number. Oh! but now I've got used to it. It's been more than times I can remember since the first time. I think it's the software version. S/W: R23REL08 PRL: 1
  4. Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always

Oh Yes! A full Rs.200 as monthly subscription to RConnect service. Better deactivate it now if you are not using it.
  5. Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always

I am sure! You are charged based on the number of days your Rconnect is active. So if you keep it active for 1st five days and then activate it in the end for 3 days, you are charges for 8 days only. I get my billing accordingly every month. If you are under DAPO offer, your usage is adjusted against the (40ps) free calls that you have by default. If you don't want your free calls to be used for RConnect, just dial *333, speak to the operator and he/she will make the necessary changes so as to disable your free calls to be used for Rconnect and your bill will show you charges for your RConnect usage.
  6. Why Does My Rconnect Become Dormant Always

Hi For those who don't know: As long as there is a connection icon on the bottom-right of your screen; you are connected and hence you are charged whether data transfer or no data transfer (Dormant or otherwise) If you don't want the Dormant state use ping as somebody rightly mentioned in the pervious posts. But your phone will give out busy tone to the person trying to contact you while you are on the net. Even after you disconnect you are charged Rs.200 towards monthly RConnect subscription apart from the usage charges. (RIM only not FWP/FWT) If you know you will not be using Internet for a couple of days, deactivate it dialing *4120 and activate again using *412. Reliance charges you only for the number of days you had enabled internet (out of Rs.200) Deactivation cannot be done within 24 hours of activation.
  7. Handset Warranty / Insurance

so in other words, Insurance is only for the phone being damaged for any problem within the phone? And not any external damages? Then dont ppl get insurance cover when the top LCD glass cracks?? The Glass itself costs some 350 bucks i guess! Hey guys: The phone is always insured (even if damaged due to accident) Only the warrenty thing comes in when the phone is not externally damaged. So he can claim even by saying it was a road accident. In Short: If repaired under warranty, he does not pay anything If repaired under insurance, he pays and claims it back
  8. Handset Warranty / Insurance

Its like this: If u lose ur phone or if the phone is badly damaged due to accident then it does not stand under warrenty repairs or replacement. So you need to go for repairs and insurance. If the repair charges are above 70% (above Rs.7000) then they ask u to go in for a new handset (the insurance cover is 70%) by paying Rs.3500 + Rs. 150(insurance process fees) and filling a claim form at the nearest web world. If you still insist for repairs, they will do so. You can fill the claim form at the service centre itself and courier it or better hand deliver it to the Insurance company. If the the repair charges come to say Rs.8500 then you are refunded Rs.7000 from the insurance company. (Rs.7000 or repair charges whichever is low is refunded) If the repair charges are below 70% then you get it repaired and fill a claim form at the service centre itself (and pay Rs.150) and courier it to the insurance company. Your insurance amount (the repair charges) reaches u within a month.
  9. Can U Change The Way Topic Opens

Both the lines seem to be contradictory to each other... I didn't get wht u meant.. u mean, that the current order is alrite, or u want the other way round? What I meant was: The post of the person who started the thread can be first and then the latest post onwards in descending order. This will only help is the posts are on track with the first post. Well as I said earlier: That is: I have gone through the new posts some time back so they are no more new. I want to now refer to the latest posts which are but no more new. That is where the category comes in: The poster may type the description hurriedly but if he has to choose a category from a scroll down list or from one of the seven to eight radio buttons it becomes easier for him. It becomes easier for the person searching for posts related to a particular issue if the search also includes those categories to choose from.
  10. Can U Change The Way Topic Opens

I still think the posts in descending would order really help. You read the latest posts first which need not be the newest posts. It should be like the first post of the person who started the thread and then the rest in descending order. If my opinion is in the minorities, atleast a down arrow on the first post which takes you to the last post should suffice the need. This can also be done with Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn but for people who use the mouse most the DN-Arrow on the 1st post should help. If one wants to view all threads with LG problems and support, there would be n number of threads under the LG head apart from other posts like ringtones, etc. That makes it difficult to search. There's no point in creating more categories. The Forums page looks fine. Though it would be nice if while creating a thread, along with the Description and Title a mandatory selection of Category from pulldown could be given. This will be a single selection option. The category pulldown menu could list options like Hardware Problems / Software Problems / General Chat / News / Call Rates / R World / Billing / .......... the list can be updated as and when a new category needs to be defined. The SEARCH could be modified to include category though need not be mandatory in the search. What say?
  11. Bitpim Sync Errors

You dont wanna try that bobby, Cause you can only reload the backup if the phone boots, But after those files are gone, the phone refuses to boot. Will give logo and reboot. I learnt the hard way. THANKS PRETENDER... You learnt the hard way and I learnt ur way..... And Thanks Static!!!!
  12. Cheap Handsets / Poor Quality

Yeah ! I strongly agree with Greens. Reliance phones (specially LG and Samsung are good quality phones) Infact drop a Nokia phone from a 6 feet height and then do the same with LG and u will know the difference. Nokia phones (I refer to Nokia because they are mostly used with GSMs) are light body with good finish (metallic, etc) LG 2030 on the other hand has a strong body, sleek and good looks (even with the protruding antennae) *------------------------------------------------------ Nokia tunes - single instrument LG 2030, Samsung N191 - polyphonic tunes *----------------------------------------------------- Just because Reliance might be getting the phones for Rs.1000 odd, does not mean the phones are bad in quality...
  13. Bitpim Sync Errors

I don't think reboot will create a problem. The ROM will still boot the phone. I mean if the ROM is programmed such that even default ringtones are stored in it, the boot system definitely would be stored in the ROM. The phone will still boot and be active though if the system files are lost the phone might not function and hence u might not be able to receive or make calls or the menu options might be lost (data or whatever). So....u can upload the root backup created using BitPim.... Just a wild guess.....
  14. Bitpim Sync Errors

U know what? I get this kind of errors very often. Infact everytime I load a ringtone or a wallpaper and after restarting I cannot refresh the tree. But a click again does the work. At the most I keep the cable connected just restart the phone and wolla, it works fine... psstt: i have to wolla very often...
  15. Handsfree On Lg2030

Hi If you have recently purchased the phone then try looking in the CALL option under the SETTINGS option. Normally when u keep the phone to Auto - Answer mode it displays Auto Answer on the screen. Check if your phone also has HANDSFREE option. The last thing as Ashok said, take it to an LG service centre or possibly first to the nearest web world (see if they have any idea).
