its not really a 'limit', you can always go over provided you pay more! utilities can be downloaded to run as counters for your usage the ISP should merely make this customised to their tariff plans and show the users the remaining amounts for tracking purposes

Information Available From Reliance Webworld
city02 replied to enticer86's topic in Reliance Communications
write to the president of RWW directly: firstname.lastname@relianceinfo.com is the standard format there was an interview with him posted over a year ago -
I agree, RIC will have to come up with a prepaid offer matching airtel's 999 for 25 years i would have actually be ready to pay Rs 1/day for unlimited incoming (rs 365/year) since i was any way paying 150/month for my driver's phone... so by slashing prices airtel will be incurring a 'notional loss' for many customers of about rs. 8 k for the lifetime validity (89% below what i'm willing to pay)! still not quite sure how they will make any money so some may go bust in 1-2 years. this is truly hyper-competition in prices/rentals! if only duties/taxes on cars could come down to 50% but that's another debate.

Wierd - it did not work for me: the 'signin' button was disabled and only 'reset' was active

Nope, it should be RICweb.com since FWP, FLP, BB, NW, etc are not part of RIM...
-
they must mean either 'zero errors' OR 'error-free' but 'zero error free' seems to imply zero instances of error-free billing! so they are being truthful after all...
-
everyone, its a ONE way mirror that you mean! two way mirrors are simply glass windows... you can see through both ways.

There is no data being delivered over power lines in this country other than lab/field tests. Nothing in commercial production. There seems to be confusion over data ON power lines and data WITH power lines: The latter is simply running a parallel set of cables so there are no access/right of way issues to be renegotiated. no new technology is required for this setup. the big thing is actually sending data over electricity wires themselves which is a big deal... huge cost savings on laying OFC etc.

is it even possible to be worse??

Yes, but Pantaloon will have to be content with #2 status in the org mkt until retail FDI is opened up (over the Left's dead body) unless Wal-Mart is allowed in, no one domestically can compete with the deep pockets of RIL - they will simply out spend anyone to capture mkt share...

There is a cost for keeping an active customer in any telco's accounts. Maybe its only Rs 10-20/month but its still there and this does not include other indirect costs like infra & capacity (call centres, etc). If spare capacity is being utilised, there's still a cost of billing the CDR even for prepaid to compute the remaining balances... Then there is the marketing/lauch cost also. It'll be interesting to see what the ROI of this new Tata offer would be.

I actually don't have a problem with WHY the letter was written since copyright violations ARE illegal. Its with HOW it was written. As an example, see the difference between such emails (style & detail) sent abroad: http://www.chillingeffects.org/piracy/noti...i?NoticeID=1428 What's the biggest difference between the RIC letter & Cox? Its the level of DETAIL! When any customer is accused of any wrongdoing, they have a right to know exactly WHAT they have done wrong and WHY its a violation of any laws/terms...
-
google! type a phrase like 'copyright violation letter' or some variation thereof... STFW!! (if u don't know RTFM, then u would not know this)
-
http://www.chillingeffects.org/submit.cgi just copy the text of the email into this form for a free analysis of what action you can take... and let us know the output!
-
the only suggestions i have for now is to go public (i.e., to the media) with the letter and then write to the chairman also its absurd to send a notice that's vague like 'you have done something bad at sometime' all legal notices MUST be specific about the violation i feel so they must say which website & what was downloaded etc.

if its less than rs 1,800/year for unlimited incoming then i'm getting one for my maid! i'm reluctantly paying 150/month for my driver's prepaid currently... they would certainly avoid the bad debt trap of monsoon hungama but i expect a huge rush and long lines for this offer also.

Trai Releases Network Congestion Report Of Mobile

by slowing capacity addition, BSNL not only saves on the interest cost of its capex but also uses it as a competitive advantage to encourage sales of its own connections... other countries have laws against such anti-consumer / monopolistic practices for incumbents -
Count me in anytime members want to get together near Navi Mumbai. Also once we can get the gender ratio a little less skewed from the 'stag party' it is currently, we could also bring our spouses!

Don't get me started on Mumbai infra! Here's an article from DNA:

technically its possible but why not just burn it and watch on your regular DVD player? the piracy protection features might have disabled it though since i've never tried it...

i agree - adjusting for PPP [purchasing power parity] it should be around $25-35 or about Rs 1,000 - 1,200 latest world bank figures [2004] show it as 3.5 (india vs US) on avg with high cost cities [mumbai & delhi] @ 3 x and the rest of the country @ about 4x ... so if you make Rs. 10 L in mumbai now, u need to make about Rs 30 L ($68 - 69 K) in an avg US city to maintain ur current living standards else u will actually be worse off! and rs 5 L in a non-metro like pune would be the same as rs 20 L in the US ...
