  1. Good to see 1st time any operator coming with per second billing with postpaid plan

No DoCoMo already has post-paid plans for 1sec billing... Those tailor made plans with 3 to 10 toppings... :SI:

^^^^ Exactly the reason why i am not a fan of 1-sec pulse. I still believe per-minute billing at 50p(RCOM) or 40p(TATA) is more attractive.

If your calls lasts more than a min (even 50% of your calls) then this one second pulse is useless :NOTriste: comparing the 30p/min and even 50p/min offer of Reliance...

This 1 sec scheme is very useful for people who gives lots of missed calls to others, since they need not fear if others will attend their call, since they need to pay 1p only... :rofl_200:

  2. :Sorprendido::Sorprendido::Sorprendido::Sorprendido::Sorprendido:

Kolkata’s CDMA major, Tata Indicom today announced the launch of a new plan to attract more customers after their ‘Pay Per Call’ concept didn’t get enough response from masses.

Today they have introduced a new starter pack which will help subscribers to make calls as low as 20p during day and 10p during night, the starter pack comes for a price tag of Rs 99.To avail the benefits of starter pack one has to recharge with Rs 46 voucher to call at half rate during night (9PM to 9 AM).

This pack comes with Re 1 talktime and lifetime validity.

    Tariff in Details

    Tata2Tata local (Day/night)- 20p/10p

    Tata2others local (Day/night) – 50p/25p

    Tata2 all std (Day/night) – 150p/75p

    SMS (local & national ) (Day/night) – 20p/ 10p

    SMS international – Rs 5

    * Day = 9AM to 9PM; Night = 9PM to 9AM

Daily rental applicable , Re1/day. For More details Call Tata Indicom’s customer care 92310 12345

Best part here is the 12hour NIGHT time and that too 9PM to 9AM... And 25p Local & 75p STD @ night...

Worst part is 1Re deduction each day... But still useful for many people working in other state, students and lovers...

New Delhi, Oct. 1 In what could be a matter of concern for GSM-based mobile operators, the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) has for the first time fallen below the Rs 200 mark.

According to the quarterly performance indicator released by the telecom regulator, ARPU for GSM operators declined 10 per cent from Rs 205 in March quarter to Rs 185 in June quarter.

Making matters worse is the fact that the minutes of usage (MOU) declined by 6.19 per cent from 484 to 454 . The outgoing MOUs declined by 5.30 per cent and incoming by 7.04 per cent.

The ARPU for CDMA services declined by 7.2 per cent from Rs 99 in March quarter to Rs 92 in June quarter. The MOU declined by 4 per cent from 357 to 342. The outgoing MOU declined by 2.7 per cent and the incoming by 5.2 per cent. This, however, does not include revenues or usage from limited mobility subscribers and income from CDMA data cards.

The ARPU for dial-up Internet usage increased by 2.97 per cent from Rs 236.47 to Rs 243.50 .

Very interesting figures Ramesh... ARPU of CDMA is Rs92 in JUNE quarter... Guess with TataIndicom's PayPerCall, MTS and Virgin's 50p STD and other schemes, what may be the ARPU of CDMA for SEPTEMBER quarter??? And for GSM its Rs185 in JUNE, and with schemes like 50p all over India (Airtel,Vodafone,Idea,Aircel) & pay per sec, WHAT MAY BE THE GSM ARPU for SEPTEMBER quarter???

    OBSERVATIONS:-

    1) SO ARPU of GSM is twice that of CDMA... THATz why Tata and Reliance are concentrating on GSM more than CDMA... :Sorprendido:

    2) With Rs185 ARPU and >10 crore customers, Airtel gets revenue of >20.5 crores per day :Ohhhh: (Am sure Airtel's ARPU will be much higher than GSM average Rs185.. Further Airtel has high Data revenue, VAS, BlackBerry and other revenues too..

    3) May be MinutesOfUsage for SEPTEMBER quarter will get increased, due to above said offers..

  4. Phones with No or Fake IMEI Code to Die

    Source

If you're still using that Chinese phone sans an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number - or worse, a fake IMEI code - expect your phone to become a brick Dec. 1 onwards.

Ramesh... CHINESE phones are still imported (may be illegally, BUT that BLOODY thing cannot be stopped or Govt not in a mood to STOP)....

BAN on chinese phones are like 3G, MNP, HighEnd NokiaCDMA phone, etc.... VARUUMM :SI: .. AANAAA VARAATHUUUU  ... :rofl_200::Contento::Riendo: Will Come,,, But WONT COME...

  5. in case of reliance 995 plan is best. as of now no operator is having similar plan. in 995 there is no charges for incoming call even on roaming. also your outgoing calls to reliance CDMA/GSM/FWP/Landline will be free.

Tata also has same plan Roam450 with rent of Rs450/- For OnNet FREE calls (even in roaming) use Rs99 T2T pack and Rs50 Jumbo SMS pack (FREE in roaming also).. I am using this plan now...

  6. I think it is better to be in Postpaid than Prepaid if you are a heavy user and/or a roaming user... Like there are Booster-cards for Prepaid, there are Add-on Packs in Postpaid... Postpaids will become much cheaper if you select addons correctly...

I use TataIndicom for roaming under plan Roam450, where Incoming call is UNLIMITED FREE all over India (means while roaming also), STD Re1 all over India(Inc. roaming), Local calls to mobile/landline/offnet Re0.50 and 250 Local calls FREE even in roaming..

SMS Addon Rs50 allows 3000 Local/National SMS FREE(even in roaming).. USA ILD Pack Rs25 allows calls to US/Canada/UK @ Rs3... I have Tata2Tata Pack added Rs99/- to get all TataLocal calls FREE even in roaming... While in Roaming, I give a missed call to my office/home members' Tata and they call me... Re0.00 Outgoing for them and Re0.00 for my incoming... :Contento:

Tata have given GoldenNumber to me FREE of Cost, ItemisedBill FREE, EVEN T2T pack FREE @ beginning (Now charging after changing tariff).. They have given such goodies <<SilverNumber, FREE itemised bills>> to all my group numbers.. OfCourse I got upto 25 connections from Tata and pay my bills before they reach my home... Maybe Thats Why they are showering offers to me..

Now I am paying just Rs624 as rent and hardly my bills crosses Rs850 (I use my BSNL's 525 plan for Local/STD calls while in TamilNadu :rofl_200: ) Now I am paying Rs850(Tata)+Rs650(BSNL) == Within Rs1500/month only.. My usage before with only BSNL was about Rs2500++/month even though I made calls much much less when comparing now...

    ============================================

Regarding low usage customers, we have to carefully select tariff, as there are very few available for low ARPU customers... Mainly you can go for Advanced rental plans..

My Wife's Tata Number has Tariff199 plan..

    Where Rent Rs199/-

    Local to Tata Re0.10

    Local offnet mobile Re0.30

    Local landline Re0.50

    STD Re1.00

SILVER Number + Itemised Bill FREE + 150 Local SMS + 150 Local calls FREE <<<This is for selected customers, not for all>>>

Another example is in Airtel, there is an Adv.Rental Plan Rs500/-

No Rent for 1 year... But ADD Rs25.00 for CLIP every month..

    Local calls to mobiles Re0.50

    Local landline Re1.00

    STD Re1.50/-

  7. Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Bhubaneswar : Aircel the fast growing Pan India telecom operator in the country, with presence in 18 circles and over 24 million subscribers, launched a very unique and consumer friendly product today, “NOW PAY PER SECOND”, in Orissa.

In its endeavor to offer the best products and services to its Orissa subscribers Aircel introduces the base tariff to any subscriber coming on Aircel network at, 1paise@1 second both on Local and STD calls making it a ‘Hungama-Offer’ i.e. the lowest rate possible at the lowest pulse possible.

With per second pulse a subscriber will only pay for what he uses. It’s a complete value for money offer where in a subscriber making a call for 12 seconds will now only pay 12 paise and not Re 1. The New Aircel Lifetime connection which is available for Rs.49 will have a pulse for per second. Existing subscribers can also opt for ‘Pay per Second’, by sending an SMS, calling the call center or recharging at POS at no additional cost.

Mr. Vipul Saurabh, National Head Operations and Customer Support, Aircel said, “Our endeavor is to introduce products and services uniquely tailored to meet the special needs of our Orissa consumers. This is one such step to reward high usage in a simple manner and is value for money”.

International Calls will also be charged at Per second Pulse offering subscribers a huge bonanza where in they can make calls to Australia, Canada, South East Asia, UK and US at only 11paise@1 second.

Mr. Rahul Saighal, CMO, Aircel added,“This offer to our consumers is in line with Aircel’s focus on Value and Simplicity”

    Source: http://www.orissadiary.com/ShowBussinessNews.asp?id=14355

Aircel is very kind towards its ORISSA customers... But why they are not in a mood to give this KIND offer to its very first circle TamilNadu??? Because ORISSA is its new circle and TN is not...

  8. :previous:

I doubt if that would be possible. Because BOSS 0 to 9 would be for that circle only. Unless RGSM has decided to give BOSS 0 to 4 for Maha and the remaining BOSS 5 to 9 for some other circle. That option also is not possible as they have asked subscribers to request their desired last 6 digits and not 5 digits.

So no BOSS for all of us outside Maharashtra.:rofl_200: :rofl_200::Contento: :Contento: :Sorprendido: :Sorprendido:

So NO BOSSES are there in states other than Maharashtra+Goa and no BOSS for Mumbai also (as Mumbai not a part of Maharashtra Circle)...

  9. This offer will be useful for college students, LOVERS, labors (when both are on different connection), mother-daughter in different states and would be couples... ALL ARE PRODUCING VERY LOW ARPU (Average Revenue Per User)... For business people, it is a BIG NO... They make more calls and not more than say 1-2 min average for each call..

But, as some one suggested, it can be used as a secondary phone... Say for example TataDOCOMO for small calls :Riendo: within a minute or half and TataINDICOM for LOOOONG calls (even with 10 min pulse)... :Contento: OHHH God, WHAT AN IDEA???? (WICKED idea of-course)

  10. TOPPINGS:

    1ST OPTION-150 LOCAL MINS

    2ND-50 STD MINS

Have a doubt why Tata-Docomo is just giving 50 STD mins as top up .

    Is 50 STD mins = 150 Local mins ?

Even if we calculate STS at 2p per sec, it should have been 75 STD min.

Maybe the STD charges will still go up in future

This implies that in near future, the STD tariff will be 3p/sec or a whooping Rs1.80/min...??

  11. Well, i have been to Andhra Pradesh using my Vodafone as well as Docomo SIM.

I had to travel across deepest and very remote villages/areas and found that most of the places, Docomo network was not present and it automatically selected Idea, which had quite decent coverage.

But i found Vodafone's coverage to be amazing..i never lost the vodafone network anywhere across AP-Karnataka.. It was just Brilliant..

Conclusion: Its not a good idea to go for Docomo now if you travel frequently across remote areas...

Well surely this situation will improve as time passes. Slowly they will be installing more cell sites in weak areas. Also since they are operating at 1800Mhz, more and more cell sites are required and I doubt whether they will be able to cover very remote areas.

RCOM having close to 40K cell sites,

Tata having close to 20K....imagine the time it will take to even meet the coverage of reliance CDMA...forget abt the big three (Indus Tower)

even after so many years CDMA of TATA dont have good coverage outside cities

You are right, TataIndicom is having very few OWN towers... But it has an agreement for TOWER-SHARING with Airtel (with a fee per month, of course).. So not a big issue for consumers... But I dont know about DoCoMo and we have to consider the fact that Indicom is using 800MHz band and DoCoMo is 1800MHz band, as told earlier by our friend...
