i dont think it depends on the handset , it depends on the chip which the handset contains.The chip should contain evdo capabilities . To find out the chips visit the qualcomm website.

As an alternative u could also do this in the future. open bitpim refresh the directory structure once or twice until u see it. now close bitpim.and open uniCDMA and voila!!!!!!! it will work.

Then consider this case.My handset was very badly damaged , so i cloned it into a phone my friend was willing to throw away.and if proceeded legally to get a new handset i would have to shell out some 8000 odd bucks compared to which ur amount is negligable.And i'm now happily using it.Every issue has two sides.considering only the negatives is not advisable.

actually u can do so by inserting a chip . This kind of thing has been sucessfully implemented in nokia 2280 and samsung models.U can do this for 800 bucks in hyderabad,and 400 bucks in chennai( a friend told me so). if u open ur hanset and remove the sticker ucan actually see there is enuf space to insert a chip into.Well believe it or not guys but its totally possible.
