As previously mentioned, I reached Patna today. I had forwarded calls to my alternate Idea number at airport only. On reaching Patna, I saw 1x at airport, so disabled forward made a few calls. But as soon as I moved to other parts of city, network was not
In Patna you will get cdma network everywhere but the problem is that MTS is not there and for 4g upgradation cdma is being served from single carrier only on every bts. All other carriers are vacated for 4g alignment. Resulting in lot of congestion in network here. You will face problems most in Danapur and Patna city area. In all other areas you can make calls in 3 or 4 attempts.

Cdma services is on in Bihar. Only activation has been stopped. Since MTS is not here and only 1 carrier on every BTS is serving cdma, services are effected badly. Services will not be discontinued before 31stI have to go out of station to Patna for 10 days. Will be going on 3rd. I was uncertain about CDMA services in Bihar. So I called up the customer care to ask if the my phone would work there. He confirmed that CDMA has been stopped in Bihar entirely and my phone won't work. So I asked him if my 4G SIM would work, which hasn't been activated till now! He was clueless, but said that it might.
No what do I do? Since that is my primary number what do I do? I am clueless! Any suggestions?

Price for 4G sim is Rs 25/- for all circles. Its not free. Anything above Rs 25/- is being extra charged by that particular store.in INDORE MP they are Taking Rs40 For Upgrading Sim ,
Why so it should be free

All you need to do is upgrade your current cdma sim to new 4G sim in Chennai circle. Your zero plan will continue as it is on the new sim till the remaining period. Zero plans have free roaming so u can use it in Siliguri without any issue. Dont go for INP/MNP process.Hi all and Praveen Sir,
I'm having Chennai CDMA advanced zero rental plan but I live in Siliguri (West Bengal). From Chennai circle, I didn't get any messages but in Siliguri Reliance office, they say by 23rd April CDMA will be closed.
Will I continue with my Zero rental plan? Because Siliguri Reliance say they have new plans for the porting numbers.
Is there any way to get old CDMA plan if I migrate to Rgsm in Siliguri.
Kindly anyone reply.
Johnson.

LTE sim has nothing to do with cdma or gsm handsets. If your handset supports LTE band 3/5/40 then RCOM 4G sim will work maybe the handset is cdma or gsm. But since they are providing voice on 2g/3g gsm network you need gsm handset for both data and voice. With cdma supported sets you can only access data through LTE.I m Still confused the 4g sim
Is it cdma lte or gsm lte
Whether 4g sim will work on our cdma old handsets or the handsets needs to be
Gsm
Also what will happen if some one does not upgrade the cdma sim

Migration has not started yet. For the first phase circles it will start from 25th. Customers can purchase the 4g sim and register their request by sending the sms. Migration will start in batches from 25th of this month.
So migration successful??? Is ur network gsm??4g sims are free. you have to send sms from your old cdma phone to 1299 as 4g + 19digit sim number. thats all.

Cost of 4g sim card is Rs 25/-. For upgrade customer has to send a sms from his existing cdma no. Sms format is 4g19 digit 4g sim no to 1299. Upgrade can also be done by calling 1299 and entering 19 digit 4g sim no.

Process is RCOM cdma>4G. (No INP process)Its bit confusing.
RCOM is asking to shift to GSM from CDMA.
Has it to be RCDMA>RGSM>4G (Using INP)
or
RCDMA>4G (Without INP)
So who will get 4G Services, RGSM or RCDMA customers?
Only for cdma customers. Rgsm not allowed.

All ur core balance, as well as data balance will be carried forward. Promotional balance shall not. What about 4g prepaid plans and recharge. Will existing CDMA plans recharge work after upgrading to 4g LTE. What about our existing data balance in CDMA sim. Will same data balance carried forward on 4g lte sims.

Whatever backbone JIO may be developing, the reality is that their commercial launch is being delayed just because of their unsuccessful VoLTE testings. So JIO cannot think of providing voice fallback for RCOM 4g customers. Chances are very high that JIO will use RGSM and their ICR partners for its voice fallback even after successful VoLTE launch.
JIO's LTE network will be known as GSM for the general public for all sense and purpose. It will use 4G enabled phones with LTE bands which are all basically GSM phones not CDMA. Reliance's GSM network is pathetic to say the least and the voice fallback plan for Reliance 4G customers is suspect and JIO is developing it's own backbone over LTE and VoLTE to counter that.
When did JIO put their gsm network ??????. They only have their own LTE network and for voice they are still struggling with VoLTE.
Reliance CDMA migrating to 4G will NOT use Reliance GSM network at all. They will solely use JIO's LTE/GSM network.
Migrating to RGSM is completely different than upgrading to 4g. You have to do MNP/INP to migrate to RGSM and the plans are not very attractive too. Better upgrade to 4g and ur same voice and data plan will continue. You can use the 4g sim in normal 2g/3g gsm handset also if you dont want to use 4g. Post 90 days you will b eligible for MNP once again.4g will be launched very soon in the above 10 circles and cdma services will not continue there after 31st May. Only cdma customers will be upgraded currently. GSM customers will have to wait. For upgrade to 4g all customer has to do is purchase a 4g ready sim and send a sms from his no along with the 19 digit sim no. MNP/INP not required. LTE will b used only for data and fallback of voice will happen on 3g/2g automatically.
What plans are on offer for RCDMA users migratign to RGSM?
What do u mean by 4G is different than RGSM here?
Are you saying that CDMA customer who upgrade to 4G will have different network than RGSM?
I thought even RGSM customer can use 4G network

Hope that clarifies.

Exactly. For me it seems that JIO is somehow testing its LTE on 850 band with RCOM cdma customers before they strart deploying for themselves.Jio lte network and rgsm for voice till they develop there own volte

Yes you can. Whenever u buy 4g handset you can use LTE. Till then u can use normal 2g/3g on gsm handset.4g will be launched very soon in the above 10 circles and cdma services will not continue there after 31st May. Only cdma customers will be upgraded currently. GSM customers will have to wait. Does it mean that temporarily we can take 4G SIM and use with normal 3G phone till we get a 4G compatible handset.

Customers upgrading to 4g will be latched on LTE for data and RGSM(2g/3g) for voice. Currently only existing cdma customers will be allowed to upgrade. GSM customers will have to wait.

so far in rajasthan i have many connections in my family and nobody has received any upgrade sms or port sms. the services are working as usual. recently my parents went to nathdwara which is a relatively small town. even there things were working fine. except the tower was closed for one day and local std booth people said its being upgraded to 4g and services will resume next day. they started working fine from next day.
so its true what the future holds is a mystery. as long as rjio provides small plans like 1gb@94 for 28 days i have no qualms.
Rajasthan is not among the circles where sms blast done to cdma customers.
