  1. Hi, I'm using Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ (Huawei EC168C USB stick) on a WinXP (SP3) PC. Each time I click on its icon, the connection/activate/settings/Zapak/Help window appears nearly in the center of my PC screen. I then drag it down to the bottom of the screen so that I can see the signal strength, the upload and download speeds, and the data transferred in the lowest ~ one centimeter of my screen. I have set up my browser window so as not to occupy this area. The PC remembers my browser window size and position. But I don't know how to get the PC to remember that I want the Rconnect window to reopen always at the position to which I've dragged it. It always opens in the centre of the screen. I searched for some .ini or .xml file that had it clearly mentioned but I didn't have any luck. Can anyone please help? And if someone knows how to alter the the RConnect Window so that these things (the signal strength, the upload and download speeds, and the data transferred) are arranged vertically, that would be even more wonderful (since PC screens are now coming much wider than higher. So in terms of browser window size, sacrificing a bit of width won't hurt as much as giving up a bit of height.
  2. Yes, it is. Funny thing is the default values were not clear to me since I had to modify 0.0.0.0 and not a valid, existing number. So I don't know what the original was. Although I have read elsewhere that Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus comes configured with OpenDNS (at least for Macs)!
  3. Hi! I figured it out. One has to edit the profile or set up a new profile. Then one can enter whichever DNS (primary and secondary). Sorry for the trouble.
  4. It was connected to upload the screenshot. Even when it is not connected the situation is the same. I'm scared to play around but do you think a new "profile" might be the answer?
  5. I will try to attach a .png file. The pic has the first window on the right-hand side to show the "advanced" button I clicked to get the DNS screen. Please note that clicking any radio buttons in the smaller (left-hand side) window doesn't work and neither can I type anything in the areas provided.
  6. Hi Arun, thanks for your reply. Yes, the Huawei screen is somewhat different. In the Dialer Software, there are: Connection, Activate, Settings, Zapak, and Help. When I click on Settings, I get three tabs: Network Settings, Network, and Diagnostics. When I click on Network Settings, there's a button for Advanced. When I click on Advanced, the screen shows four panels: IP Settings Authentication Protocol Settings DNS Settings and WINS Settings I would have changed DNS Settings, but the funny thing is that I cannot make any changes at all (in any of the four panels) even when I log in as admin. So I'm confused! Hence my post. (PS: I had made a similar post last night thinking that it had not gone through, I made one today as well. Sorry about that)
  7. Please tell me if I can change my DNS to openDNS or Google DNS from whatever is the default provided by Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus. I am using the Huawei EC168C (white) USB modem. I'm asking because I very often see "looking up" for quite some time before I get to see a page loaded fully. I also have a BSNL broadband account on another PC and here I could change to Google DNS quite easily. But in the Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus, I can't seem to change anything from the "Network Settings" screen.
