  1. Thank you for the tip Rajan. I managed to upgrade mine as well to 25Gb.
  2. Great going guys ! Your enthusiasm and collective knowledge share on the latest CDMA Android phones, and the effort to get them working successfully on Reliance, has encouraged me to pre-order my HTC EVO 4G with Sadiq / Zyed Scorpionking.9000's unboxing of the EVO (Congrats Mate, the new phone looks good ) was an interesting watch and I share the excitement. From the video the only thing packed in the box, apart from the phone, is the battery, wall charger and USB cable - there was no mention of the 8Gb Micro SD which I assume is already in the phone ? I am listing below a few accessories I have / Need for the EVO 4G and it would be great to hear from boarders on your recommendations for products / accessories that you have used / bought / researched. Leather Flip Case I am hoping to get some accessories for the EVO before it arrives, especially a good leather flip case. Have searched the net but have not seen a flip case that gives access to the phone while it is in the case. The one I have for the iPhone 3GS works really well. All the leather cases that I have come across for the EVO are sliders. Seidio, Incipio (I have this for my Storm 9530), Amzer etc have silicon / hard shell cases that leave the screen prone to damage. Screen Guard / Skin For the Screen Guard I will probably go in for the ZAGG - invisibleSHIELD which has worked well for me in the past - PSP 3000, Storm 9530. They have a twitter account zaggdaily that gives out discount codes which you can use during checkout to save 20 to 50%. Battery A phone like the EVO 4G barely stays in the case While the wall charger, Car Charger and USB should take care of keeping the EVO charged on most occasions, a battery pack would really ensure that the EVO 4G never runs out of charge. I have the ZAGGsparq 2.0 (6000 mAh, with 2 USB charging ports) which should have enough juice to keep the EVO up and running 24/7. ZAGG was kind enough to replace my ZAGGsparq 1.0, which was recalled due to charging issues, at no cost. I think it should work out slightly more expensive than a Seidio battery but with 3 times the juice ! Windshield Mount The generic Windshield Mounts that you get on ebay.in should work well as they allow for both portrait and landscape orientation of the device. Car Charger Have tried a few from eBay.in for my HTC Mogul but these are inconsistent. Have been using the ZAGGsparq instead. External Speakers Not sure how the speaker quality is on the EVO 4G for watching movies / listening to music. If you do not want to use a stereo headset For great audio quality without compromising, much, on the portability - the x-mini usb speakers should work really well. Got these from ebay.in and I use them to listen to media on my laptop. They perform really well. Please do share your research / recommendations for accessories.

  4. 1X Data Service Not Working

@Karthik - My netconnect broadband+ is working fine, it seems to be the the 1x data on the mobile which is not functional. I am currently in Delhi and the 1x was fine until this evening. It is connecting to the service but not transferring any data...

  6. Essential Accessories For The Htc Evo 4G

Sorry for the late response. Check out http://www.pdair.com/ for the evo 4g leather cases, quality is very good, I am happy with it. Only issue you have to look at in the book type case, is the issue of no protection from the phone falling out from the top if you accidently hold it upside down. My EVO has fallen out of the case twice, fortunately not a scratch !
  7. Essential Accessories For The Htc Evo 4G

Cyber Monday sale at ZAGG , they are offering 50% off sitewide only for today !
  8. Essential Accessories For The Htc Evo 4G

Rahul, The zagg invisibleshield is an excellent option though expensive. I had it on my psp3000 and blackberry storm 9530 and it worked great on the storm for over 1 year. The psp3000 has had it for over 15 months and it still looks great, no issues. Look at their twitter feed, you can sometimes get 50% off, got mine that way, worked out to less than 1200 bucks including shipping for the full body shields. I have not however bought this for my EVO which is well protected with a PDAIR book type leather case which lets me use the phone without taking it out, only problem is that the phone tends to slide out from the top if you are not careful, which ideally should have a band to retain the phone inside the case. They have a flip type as well but I think it does not have a cutout for the camera. Overall I am happy with the PDAIR book type case which you can get for $28 including shipping and it should arrive in 10 days.
  9. RIMweb.in Member Of The Year - 2010

My vote goes to Hetal. I had the most satisfying experience when I bought a Samsung Fascinate from him. He responded to me minutes after I had messaged him and he dispatched the phone the same day ! He also went out of the way to help me re-configure my EVO 4G for 1x data after it had mysteriously stopped working. Thanks Hetal !
  10. Get Your Stealth Guard Free For Limited Time

@Rajan Hope I am wrong and 'RIM webians' who ordered it find the quality better than what I read in the link posted. $2.5 is certainly a bargain (If the quality is good), I spent over $25 for the ZAGG Invisible Shield (look out for 30 to 50% discounts on their twitter feed) The pic, posted by Amitabh, of the Stealth Guard on the iPhone does make it look very bad, and that might be because of applying it directly without the 'liquid'. Those who have bought it might get better results if they follow the ZAGG videos on the application/installation process. The liquid layer will help you install the Stealth Guard as it will let it slide easily in place and help you remove any bubbles that form. Once it is applied / in place you can use a soft cloth to remove any excess liquid. It is also important to leave it overnight after installation without using the phone as any heat generated might make it peel off.
  11. Get Your Stealth Guard Free For Limited Time

I almost ordered mine. Lucky I read the below reviews from people who have used it http://xsellize.com/topic/76246-free-stealth-guardspay-shippinghurry/ I have used the Invisible shield from Zagg and this is basically the product what Stealth Guard is targeting, and from what people seem to be saying, it is not great. From what i have read - It is just an ordinary, poor quality, screen protector - that costs you $2.85. Some people seem to be happy with this, probably because of the low price. - Glue is very sticky which makes it difficult to apply. Now this might not be good for the device you put it on in the long run. - Heat from the phone causes the screen protector to come off at the edges. If you think you are buying a product similar to the ZAGG Invisible shield, this certainly does not seem so. The ZAGG comes with a liquid applicator / sponge that enables a better installation on the phone, and this might be the reason why the Stealth Guard is difficult to apply. You might want to look at the ZAGG videos that detail why the liquid is so important for a bubble free installation. The $2.85 does seem attractive and If any member who receives this can give us details on the quality of the product then I would pick it up for my EVO 4G.
  12. 1st HTC EVO 4G on RIMweb - Check Out The Pics!

@muffadal Reports that I read indicated light leakage at the base of the phone where the screen came apart, relieved to know not all phones are affected. The way the blogs / tweets are bringing up this problem it made me feel this is a major issue affecting a large number of devices. @scorpionking Thanks for the confirmation ! Will be great to hear from you on your experience with data on 1x Reliance. The connection is made in the background which I guess should run up a lot of bandwidth usage. Read elsewhere on the board that Reliance offers an unlimited 1x plan which I guess is the way to go (Have not been able to find the plan on the rcom site so far). Wonder how this holds up for calls coming in while updates are happening in the background, assuming data and voice can work in tandem.
  13. 1st HTC EVO 4G on RIMweb - Check Out The Pics!

scorpionking.9000 and Sumit, there are quite a few reports on the net of the glass separation on the HTC Evo. Have you by any chance noticed this on your phones ? Hoping that's not the case. Expecting my Evo hopefully by next week and it will be a real disappointment to find this defect.
