  1. Guys, Just see the attached image, i am seeing it for the first time on my iPhone 4 CDMA phone. And when i saw the log for the same, i cannot believe it. Please help me with this. Should i go ahead and activate EVDO on my number by Reliance and will internet start working on it? What else needs to be done? I'm excited. If you see the log messages closely, you will know the reason for my excitement!
  2. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

I think we need more input from @Sanjay then. Can you please share the prl and the steps you followed to push it?
  3. Parin bhai, no matter what, finally to write the values on the phone, it has to create a comm port on our machine. So i am very optimistic that if we break this barrier, we will be able to do the same using alternative tools. But let's see, these are all assumptions till it is not possible in reality!
  4. My observation so far is: DFS is simply creating a Virtual Comm Port over SSH and then does all the communication with the iphone. The steps to connect the phone to CDMA WS or QPST are the same. I created a virtual comm port over SSH and then selected that comm port in CDMAWS/QPST and was able to read some of the values conveniently. The only thing which i am not understanding is how come DFS is able to read as well as write to the phone whereas the other tools are failing to do so. If we can crack this nut, i am sure we have an alternative to DFS to program our iphones.
  5. भैया तुम बरोबर समज नहीं रहे हो और इल्जाम मेरे पे लगा रहे हो. तुम कह रहे हो के तुमने रिलायंस में डाटा प्लान एक्टिवे करने की बात की है . I am say 1x data is worked default by reliance but u need to change ur phone setting for that no need for activate 1x for reliance end. And parin bhai also says same this 1x work by default by reliance end, U r new in this cdma kindly learn something and blame on other member, I am member since 4 years never blaim any forum member. Are yaar, where did i blame anyone? I just mentioned the post which created the confusion and since I am new to all this, it's obvious that i will get confused and it's the experience of you guys which will help people like me to get their confusion resolved. I just don't understand where did i blame anyone! And how can i blame someone who is sparing out his valuable time to share his experience. C'mon people, please don't take anything personal. The contribution of each and every member on rimweb for me is priceless, priceless, priceless And if you read the beginning of this thread clearly, you will know this thread is all about the confusion which got created after seeing the 3G icon and the log messages following the same.
  6. Now the confusion has got resolved. I think Vijay Malhotra created all this confusion. Atleast in iPhone CDMA, data doesn't works by default.
  7. Parin bhai, why am i so unlucky in every aspect? Already SMS problem pending, then all that call drop problem, and now one more problem, 1x not working by default, problem, problem, problem. Kya bad luck hai! :-( Can you please share your zeppelin_us.bundle folder so that i can try overriding the same on my phone and see what happens?
  8. So is it true that 1x is working by default for all the iPhone CDMA users?
  9. parin bhai, please share how did you manage to get it working?
  10. So why are people who are using iPhone say that Data is not working, only calls & sms works. Can anyone using an iPhone CDMA please confirm is 1x Internet is working for them?
  11. It's not working for me. It keeps on saying "could not activate cellular data network"
  12. Parin bhai, I tried it, but not working. It says "could not activate cellular data network". This message appears on GSM phones also if we have not subscribed for any EDGE/3G plans. So I think i need to activate 1x/evdo on my number from reliance. I've asked Reliance to activate 49 Rupees Rental Plan with 100MB usage and it will get activated from my next bill cycle which is fortunately 9th, i.e tomorrow. My excitement is increasing beyond limits. Let's hope internet starts working..
  13. Hi, I am using an iPhone 4 CDMA version, and i am struggling with the problems which i believe so many are facing, SMS and Data. After patching the commcenter, we can easily edit the carrier settings so that our phone starts working normally. But i have no knowledge of the Reliance specific CDMA settings required to make it work. People have even successfully enabled Data on their phones. If someone can please help in sharing the network settings which needs to be feeded to the device to make it work properly on Reliance network! I used iFile to have a look at the carrier.plist and carrier.pri files and i found so many options which if we know the correct value for it, maybe we will be able to make SMS (my Priority) and Data (if we are lucky) work smoothly. I've attached few snapshots of those options which i have no knowledge of, but i am sure the experts over here will be able to share more details as to why we are not able to edit all these settings. -Majrul
  14. I even tried 5.1 but the problem still persists. What could be wrong?
  15. What has to be done to make SMS work? Please please help!
  16. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

parin bhai, the problem is the no. which we had temporarily activated on this iPhone is terminated by now and the problem is we cannot reactivate the same no. I need someone who can release this iPhone from this number so that we can transfer another one on it. I am unable to dial *228 as it gets stuck after "welcome to reliance". If you can help, please let me know!
  17. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

Bhai log, kuch to update karo. Kisine kuch try kiya ke nahi. Unfortunately i don't have an active no. on my iPhone 4 CDMA.
  18. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

I tried it yesterday itself, there is no such problem i faced. The commcenter was patched and i was able to edit the carrier.plist file. I am on 5.0.1.
  19. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

Hetal Bhai, how did you get the word Reliance appear next to the antenna bar? And vishal did you edit those properties which i mentioned before?
  20. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

Parin, did you try editing the OutgoingSMSPrefix property in carrier.plist? What values did you provide? There are 2 properties we need to set under this, one is for local sms prefix which by default contains value as +1 and +11 for international SMS. I will request you to set the local prefix to an empty string and the international prefix to +91. Also after replacing the Verizon prl file with a Reliance prl file, there is an option in the carrier.plist called as push prl something which needs to be set to true. Also please try this and let us know if sending SMS suceeds.
  21. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

    Guys any success, please report!
  22. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

CommCenterpatch for iPhone 4 CDMA version is now available from the following cydia repository: http://v.backspace.jp/repo/ Since i don't have an active no. on my iPhone 4 CDMA i cannot try the option i suggested in one of the comments on Page 1. I will request people who have a working phone to test, please install the commcenter patch and then try editing the OutgoingSMSPrefix property. Let's hope atleast day to day messaging between our friends and collegues starts working. For messages from Bank and others which we are unable to receive on our phones, we will need to accept what Hetal posted in one of the message above.
  23. iOS5 on iPhone 4 CDMA?

Can you please share the old carrier bundle files so that even i can try it once. I am continuously working towards finding a solution to this problem and yes what Mufaddal mentioned in one of the above post is correct, it's the problem with all the flashed iPhones. In the US, the problem is worse. For people who flashed iPhones to use it on Cricket or Metro, SMS(send and receive) is not working at all. Atleast on Reliance network, we are able to receive SMS(partially), but not send it. After going through with the problems of Metro and Cricket users, this is what i have come to the conclusion: 1) The problem with US CDMA network is the character encoding (i.e. the format in which SMS is sent/received) over the network. What happens is that the iPhone is expecting the SMS in a particular format but the carrier (network) is following a different encoding and because of this the handshake between the provider and the iPhone fails, resulting in failure of the SMS. 2) I am working on this option: The carrier.plist contains all the settings required to make the phone work. By default this file contains all Verizon related settings. I found one very interesting setting in this file called as OutgoingSMSPrefix. The default value of this property is +11 for international and +1 for local. I think for those users who are unable to send a message, maybe by changing this property, we might be able to solve the problem. I tried changing this value to +91, but the problem is as soon as you edit this carrier.plist file, the signature of this file changes and then the iPhone simply discards all the settings done. The solution to this problem is a CommCenter patch. For GSM phones, people who need to enable tethering and other options, they patch the commcenter so that it allows edited carrier.plist files. Unfortunately no one has yet developed a CommCenter patch for CDMA iPhones. I think if we can patch the CommCenter so that it allows edited carrier.plist, then i think we might be able to solve this problem.
  24. Amit Jain, i have sent you the MDN no., please help if possible!
  25. Thanks a lot Hetal. I am happy that you replied to my post. Really sorry if my post made you angry. Hope i will receive your help! Also what happened is the Reliance store we went to, that guy out there, helped us in transferring the no, but he didn't gave us any HCC or GSK. He just told us to fill up a form along with address proof and other details, and in 5 mins approx, the old phone automatically got deactivated and the no. got transferred to the iPhone.
