  1. @theneo

i think you are talking about number portability. the same has been rejected by mtnl, as mtnl think there is no need of this kind of service in India right now. but the TRAI / DOT still have to make a decision on number portability.

  2. I think that reliance would be best for you. You must go for JITNE KA MOBILE UTNE KI BAAT offer, in which you pay Rs. 2500/- for the handset and you get the full value back. Utilise this phone until you would be in India. Use your full talktime and then after sell the handset for nearly 1000 bucks or gift it to somebody.

If you come to India with your personal gsm handset then you must no that here in India only Airtel provides you with 1800 mhz network. Other operators like Hutch, Bpl only have the 900 mhz service. As I am not sure about this, you please confirm with other members. I read somewhere in a magazine that in US only 1800 mhz handsets are mfg. So, you have to choose the operator in India according to your handset.

    Regards.

  3. Dear Anu,

As u asked that how did I know my peak hour usage of Rs. 14. Let me explain that, I am also a kind of person like you who only use the net in the night. I rarely use the net in peak hours. Whenever I use the net in peak hours I write down the minutes usage in my diary with date and time to cross check with reliance bill. In the last month I used the net for 28 minutes in peak hours, so they charged me Rs. 14/- extra for the peak hour usage apart from the rental of freedom@night plan.

Now I am going to tell one thing to all of you guys, about which very little people knows :

If any of you having any doubt about your usage, then just go to your nearest Reliance Web World and ask them for CDR (Call Data Record).

They don't despatch the CDR to customers. You have to personally collect it from the Web World. After making the request for CDR, you will get the same within 10 to 15 days. You can specify the dates from and to which you needs your call details (Eg.: From 20-11-2005 to 30-11-2005).

After getting the CDR, u can check your daily usage with time. It will clearly specify that when did you used ur phone for data calls and for how many minutes. It also specify ur phone calls.

  4. Dear Anu,

As I told you in my previous mail that i got the waiver of Rs. 321. Please note that the actual waiver amount was Rs. 291, they waive off the service tax also. So Rs. 291+10.2% service tax = Rs. 321.

You asked that why only 321/-.

According to them my data usage charger were 735/-, which was wrong. Of which they gave me the waiver of Rs. 321. So, now Rs. 735 - 321 = Rs. 414. Out of Rs. 414, the Rs.14 are my peak hours usage charges and Rs. 400/- is the monthly rental of freedom@night plan.

I think now all your doubts would be cleared.

So, now don't thing negative about this. If you feel that u really need this plan, than go for it definetly. Be positive and take care.

    Regards.

  5. @ rajan

Dear rajan u don't have to wait to receive you bill by post. Just call the customer care and ask if the bill is prepared. Then ask them your total bill amount. After that, ask them about the data charges for the current bill. They will tell you the charges for the data.

If then, you feel that they had wrongly charged, then you lodge the complaint at that moment. They will check you plan, and lodge the complaint.

Remember my billing date is 15th of every month. I too didn't received the bill yet. But i had called the Customer Care on 18th Novemer and asked the amount of the data charges. Then i made the complaint with CC, they given me the Complaint No. with waiting time of 72 hours. And I got the waiver of Rs. 321/- by 21st November 2005. Even before the bill had to reach me.

They told me that the waiver amount would reflect in my next bill.

I also received a call from Customer Care.

    @ Anu

Don't be afraid of anything. Go and get it. There will not be any problem with your billing. And if, any problem arises then just call the CC department. After all they are sitting there for "CUSTOMER CARE".

    Regards.

  6. Dear Anu

You can definetly go for this freedom@night plan without any hesitation. I had activated my freedom@night plan on 18th October and my billing date is 15th of every month. My unbilled usage was increasing regularly, and i got my bill with data charges of Rs. 735/-. I registered the complaint with reliance, and within 72 hours they gave me the waiver of Rs. 321/-. It is a good plan, in fact, if you can make maximum use of it.

Only the con in this plan is that whenever u change your freedom@night plan to regular data plan or to any other plan, you won't get the same ricmail e-mail address as you would register when in freedom@night plan. Otherwise it's a good plan.

Don't be afraid, if there is any problem in your billing, the reliance people would definetly adjust your amount.

    Thanks

  7. Thread Updated.

Discuss about the SIDE EFFECTS of Night Unlimited Plans from Post No. 29 onwards:

Side Effects Of Night Unlimited Plans

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

My dear friends, Reliance had introduced freedom@night plan last month, under this we get unlimited usage in off-peak hours i.e. from 10:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.

Most of us, who are in this plan, wants to make maximum use of this plan. Because of that many people are loosing their sleep at night, they surf till late hours, say by 3:00 a.m. and become lazy the next day.

I fear that the most of us become INSOMNIAC, if we didn't care of our night sleep.

So, please take care of your health enjoying along with the benefit of this unlimited night plan. Take a good night sleep as well.

    Lets hope for the best.

    Comments please

  8. All my dear friends,

I think there is no way to dial a long distance call without the prefix "0", because of the telephone numbering system in India.

As we all know that there can be same numbers in many cities. Just take the example of reliance. Reliance alloted the series of 309 to all its circles. By that i mean, if there is a number 3091---- activated in mumbai, the same number had also been activated in many other circles, like delhi kanpur.

So, if you don't prefix "0", than how can the system judge that where to land that call.

There will be only one way left with TRAI than, it has to change the series of our whole country.

    Lets hope for the best.

    Thanks.

  9. All my dear friends, here is the same problem with me also. My billing date is 15th of every month. I changed to freedom@night on 18th October. Now my bill has been generated on 16th November, which shows me that all my usage has been calculated as per the default plan, whereas, i had migrated to the freedom@night plan on 18th of October. My unbilled usage is also going up every day by Rs. 40-50.

I called the Customer Care, they registered my complaint and told me to solve it within 72 hours.

    Lets hope for the best.

    Thanks.
