  1. Usb Data Cable Or Serial Cable

thanks praveen for your experienced words. Do you know the topic starter PuttamReddy started 3 topics with same subject on same day and all 3 are floating in first forum page. http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10752 http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10843 http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10751 Looks like there are no moderators in this forum. Hey please MERGE all three.
  2. R Connect In Lg Lsp 350r

Both cables are different in technology and nature. Cost should not be a problem for features. Read this thread >>>http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10752 MODERATORS please merge this TOPIC with http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10752
  3. R Connect In Lg Lsp 350r

@PUTTARAM You are running two Threads with exactly same Question. I have already given a detailed Description on which cable to use for Modem connectivity. Also given a details of my very famous Cable Guide existed since Dec 1997 (very soon the page will be 10 years old) http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10752 Do not run two threads at the same time with same questions. Why I am telling you that both topics are started by you only. Why?
  4. Airtel EDGE Data card, undoubtedly. @honest I am tired of telling this to each and everyone since I reappered on this forum, lolz
  5. @dear honest the mobility is concerned in this thread too and in general too. Of course Airtel broadband is concerned for fixed net, but one can rely on Airtel USB Data cards for surf on the move, as we aleady discussed this many times in other forums. Edge is just one step towards broadband as in india 256kbps and more qualifies as Broadband and properly implementation of Edge can give speed between 247 kbps (present) to 384 kbps (technically).
  6. Cdma Vs Gsm

As far as Data services are concerned at this moment there is no match to EDGE services rendered by AIRTEL which is giving us than 247kbps (kbits per sec), similar to our basic Cablenet speed on mobile and on pc connected to mobile too. 247 kbps is officially declared by AIRTEL with technical guides and on thier website in technical details, do dont dare to disagree. We are already using it since many months here in Mumbai. This is possible due to superb EDGE support by Airtel both on EDGE phones and on EDGE USB DATA Cards. I use EDGE service from Airtel on my prepaid card with a Plan called mobile office which gives Rs.15 per day for Unlimited Download usage. Tests done with at least two download meters and from hundreds of website we get at least 23Kbyte/sec to 28Kbyte /sec of dowbload, including YouTube videos. Technically EDGE can give upto 384 kbps if ISP provides to offer all 8 Edge channels (timeslots) of 48kbps each. But all of us know they wont give all features together and at the moment are offering only 5 timeslots at a time for download/upload. Current version of CDMA 2000 by all three companies, Reliance/TATA/MTNL Garuda cannot give more than 144 kbps as officially declared by them. We all know the REAL SPEED of Internet thru CDMA units. They either dont connect and if connected dont last longer and very slow browsing is common problem. There is no near future plans by them to release new version of CDMA as they are busy in selling low-end mobiles to the mass (Rs.999 Color Classic) which is big market for them than Data users like us. VERY SOON YOU WILL SEE MR. ANIL AMBANI WITH HIS CLASSIC PHONES ON FOOTPATHS OF GIRGAUM CHOWPATTY SELLING THESE CLASSICS ON HIS HATHGAADI (THELAA). EDGE IS WIDELY DISCUSSED/DEBATED AND FOUGHT AND KICKED EACH OTHERS ASSES BY TECHNICAL PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD >> <a href="http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10509" target="_blank">http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10509</a> I suggest before answering me everyone please read this thread. NOW DATA SERVICES. I use Airtel for my business since quiet a some time and as a business related to internet and also mobile phones, I have total NINE mobile connections from all the companies. I stopped using Reliance (my previous main number) only because of over heating of almost all models which we like to use. The main problem I faced a lot in Reliance is that the person calls from outside to us, he gets the engage tone and our phones are free. Or most of the times call is shown as started on phone but there is no voice for both parties. Many a times Network congestion occurs. No network in lifts and staircases even in commercial large passage buildings in Mumbai. Lack of modern mobiles in CDMA category, You never get your favourite model in CDMA. And there are more problems I dont remember at the moment. No roaming partnership between CDMA companies in remote areas. Once the CDMA signal dies there is no other CDMA operator there. AFTER SWITCHING TO AIRTEL, BPL AND HUTCH (VADAPAV). I get signal in each and every corner of city, in elevators or any congested area. No heating experienced in any GSM models as yet. I can use all the PDAs, O2, Camera Phones with high resolutions and flash, Blackberry with EDGE speed rocks. Just try to see how EDGE works on Curve Blackberry, your jaws will drop out. Current models of reliance blackberry with cdma are costliest than general market and they will never give 144kbps like Airtel EDGE can give, non-disconnecting data flow. You can recieve calls when you are downloading, the speed of download will marginally drop as only one timeslot is used for Voice and remaining will keep working for Data. Calls never fail both outgoing or incoming. Blank Voice problem like Reliance/MTNL never existed in GSM areas. Never heard a single Network congestion messege in my whole usage time of several years on AIRTEL, trust me. Using motorola ming (unlocked and modded for edge) since more than a year and these kind of touchscreen models never still came in CDMA. ROAMING is just great with GMS, when you are in remote villages you find at least two GMS partners to take charge of your mobile. So you are never lost in jungle too. Airtel itself is widely spread all over India and have partnership in each corner of the country. ANIL is not ready to upgrade his BRAIN so how we can expect they will upgrade in Technology too. "Classic jo bechnaa hai" I MAY BE WRONG BUT THESE ARE MY OBSERVATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND VIEWS. AND ALL THIS IS APPLICABLE TO CURRENT (OCT 2007) PERIOD AND ARE APPLICABLE SINCE LAST 3 YEARS. I DONT KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW WITH CDMA. Lots of Technologies are ready to shoot in the market like WIFI PHONES/VOIP , 3G (data), WCDMA, and many more even the DVBH (tv on phone). Its simple thing, heavy features are available only when your Data Services Speed increases. Reliance is not adoptng any new tech like they adopted CDMA when they started. CDMA is came with its own drawbacks too. This forum is based on reliance so I am not giving anymore details of other techs and just comparing. I am not Reliance of CDMA hater, I still use it occassionally I say thanks to RELIANCE for introducing that revolutionary INCOMING FREE thing when they launched and the whole system changed. NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENED AFTER THAT. I still see people fighting over in reliance helpdesks and galleries for improper billings and service related issues. Many mobile repairers do not repair CDMA mobiles due to lack of spare parts and service centre supports. My younger bro is one of them. So better think twice before you buy next new connection. o my gosh, i wrote whole big article just for the sake of gsm and cdma.
  7. I dont see any point asking so many questions asking in a thread for which answers are in the same thread. this thread itself have all the information about EDGE and many links to EDGE Definition pages. Will you please care to read the thread before asking questions? Please dont ask for spoonfeeding. You are forgiven for first and last time guessing you are a new member.
  8. Unlimited Internet On Mtnl Garuda

@Honest I see you everywhere I go in the forum I confirmed at 1502 just today as a repeat confirmation. 1502 is toll free Usually I myself go to MTNL Exchange for paying our 3 landline phone bills and also to buy Rs.110/- voucher required for my GARUDA FW (TalkTime Rs.90, Outgoing Call validity 30 days.) I am on 2 year Garuda FW Plan. Do you know GARUDA FW is the only connection in India which have Incoming Call Validity of 2 years but you need to recharge for OUTGOING CALL VALIDITY PERIOD too. I felt cheated when my outgoing calls stopped after one month of Subscription. I try to keep asking them the new plans or any new announcements if any. In fact I recently asked at exchange also and the Garuda counter people also told be in their idiotic voice "Garuda FWP ke liye inernet nahi hai". Yes the people at exchange are ignorant of most things. DO YOU KNOW THESE IDIOTS HAVE WORLD'S BEST TECHNOLOGY IN HAND, BUT WASTED DUE TO GOVT EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE? I have personally seen the infrastructure inside the EXCHANGE and all the working of E10B and other latest systems. But all waste. One more thing, the cable does not come with FW with MTNL. You need to buy it seperately. Agar hota toh bhee saale CHORI karke alagse bechte. I am not sure but they said something around Rs.200/- or something like that for it. Dont remember, its at least 4 months before I asked just to know. Could be more too. As I did not yet tried GARUDA FW internet (cannot be more than 144kbps as per CDMA spec) I cannot give more details on its speed. I even dunno how to get good speed by PINGING Mtnl. Please explain or give me link with details. Chow
  9. Reliance At Its Best

ha ha ha. prolly u r right. not only the male staff but many customers too are there for the same (I trust u, u r not from that type ) Hey have you lately visited HUTCH/VODAFONE gallery? Be prepared , and go
  10. Reliance Netconnect Vs Tata Plug2surf

Thanks for thanks. We all are here to share information and everyone wins. I tried to explain the different aspects of different technologies I came across as user of at least 12 connections, mobile and landline, though I am not mobile hardware engineer. I even have Garuda FW Prepaid and posted information about it. You will see so many topics started by me in such a short span of time and trying everyone to get into Gentleman discussion for everyones benefit. I myself did not find helping people most often in our lives. You also know RimWeb does not pay us for these lengthy articles we write. My point of view is to Give more than take from internet. I am active and advanced member in www.motorolafans.com where we help people to do hardware Flashes and install amazing Linux softwares. Even there are some people with negative attitude, we dont care. Some people here also are enganged only in negative things and try to demotalize others. I am sure they did not start even a single proper topic which is helpful to mankind. I hate such attitude. I am not upset with you in any case. I gave you Edge Data card spec and the total number of timeslots Airtel is offering at the moment with this data card. I am using more timeslots with some HARDWARE HACK, but due to negative responses and TOTAL DISBELIEF on this technology I am not going to tell anything about it here now. This Forum is little bit BIASED and does not fall to standards as mentioned in its welcome message. Anyways now about Delhi Edge. I can only give information from only my city and surrounding where I visit How can someone expect me to inform about airtel gprs in Andaman and Nicobar Island? Anyways I wish everyone good luck. May GOD bless these kids by mind (not you there are so many of them here). Thanks for your concern.
  11. Unlimited Internet On Mtnl Garuda

I have GarudaFW Prepaid connection. They call it WLL (Wireless in Local Loop) and we call it CDMA. Anyways, the Internet connection is not availlable at all to PREPAID GARUDA users. It was not there when I suscribed a year before and even just now called there toll free number 1502 and the operator said its not available now too. Just an update for prepaid garuda users.
  12. Web Mail, Web Space

Pehle ye batao kisine Reliance ke address wala public website dekhaa hai aajtak? I did not see yet. Ho sakta hai par meri nazar me ek bhee nahi aayaa!
  13. Can't Disconnect R-connect

ha ha ha LOLZ you really made me laugh a lot. Most of the things are true and i agree. par itnaa gussa mat karo yaar. REMEMBER RELIANCE BROUGHT THE REVOLUTION CALLED "FREE INCOMING CALLS" FIRST TIME IN INDIA. So thank GOD (and Late Shri Dhirubhai Jee). Ab ise use karna hai ke nahi, depends on us. Now we have lots of options than swearing these companies.
  14. Reliance At Its Best

take printout of the webpage, kick some asses at RWW. lolz
  15. Cheapest Mobile With R Connect From Nokia

hi viper. If you wanna choose any one of these two then 6275 is good choice. You must already be knowing that it have 2mp camera with flash. FM Radio, 320x240 screen but tightly packed in 2" screen. HTML browser. Everything is good but take a note, its Symbian Series 40 and many latest symbian software may not be able to install. This is the only problem, why I did not buy it few months before. At the same time JAVA MIDP 2 will allow lots more softwares and games. If you are not looking for Series 60 or later, you can go for this phone.
  16. Reliance Netconnect Vs Tata Plug2surf

I guess you are from Delhi or New Delhi, you did not mention. I am based in Mumbai so cannot give you updates about Airtel EDGE in Delhi. But as per technical specification of EDGE Data cards given by AIRTEL, it is EDGE Class 12 (GPRS Class 10) with 8 timeslots built in and 4 are used at a time for download and 4 for upload. Total 5 timeslots used at a time. See technical information on link below, where they clearly mention you get 247kbps speed from then, while EDGE can actually give 384 kbits if all 8 timeslots are offered for download by Mobile companies. Of course as you are talking about DELHI, it is capital and major city of technical infrastructure, hence I GUESS the EDGE service should be good like in mumbai or even better. The technical spec of BLACK EDGE DATA card is here >> http://www.airtelworld.com/level2_t3data.a...h=1/106/179/304 You will find the TARRIFF plans on the same page or here >> http://www.airtelworld.com/level2_t3data.a...h=1/106/179/305 The service is called Mobile Office and you can opt Rs.999 Unlimited plan to avoid huge bills, and voice rentals are inclusive in this plan. What I suggest you that, go to Airtel Gallery in your local area and ask for DEMO. Sometimes technical guy who roam around have the laptop and helps you with net and mms settings etc. He might be able to show you actual demo. If not, then try to ask for numbers of people or his friends who are using it and just call them to take feedback. It may be good or bad, but dont rely on one persons result, as many people goof up with settings and results may vary where the data cards are used. Signal strength and other issues also affect the results. I dont suggest you to go for service without actually seeing it working. Hope this helps. C Mahendra mumbai

Thanks honest for confirming. Now one more UPDATE. Got this excellent speed in Pune Expresshighway From DEHUROAD to KATRAJ GHAT while in car on pune by-pass road. Except few DEADSPOT areas. Airtel EDGE Rocks while roaming too. Edge in Pune is for sure. Will post if good speed is found in more cities. Visiting Belgaum city next week for 2/3 days. SAD to say, few bad reports about Airtel Data Cards in Bangalore from my technical friends circle. They get similar or slower speed than reliance in Bangalore. Dont have much details. May be some timeslot issues. C Mahendra You accpet your own mistake because of fear of failure. I know what you've been barging about so long and so lone could only be sporadic and location dependent. I request you to resist from posting these kind of information which comes out of your inability to test at many locations. Forum is for whole India put it here only if you're sure that its applicable for at least more than 10% of India. Speaking before testing is your trait and never push it over me. @kesav ok right! I dont want to play with over-reacting words like you. I posted my EDGE test results in Mumbai long time back where I am based, see the topic date in www.motorolafans.com and in this forum too. I provided my test results in additional cities and on nearby highways as an update. Also mentioned some negative results fron bangalore where I got reports from. Now I dont know why you say that "your own mistake because of fear of failure" See first of all, I do not need to care if you believe the test results or not. The information is for all and not personally for you. And yes I dont need to go to rest of India and post my results about the same. I am based in Mumbai, and giving information from my observations only. Only an idiot can expect me to go to Delhi or Guwahati or Zumaritaliyaa to test Airtel's net speed and post here. This is forum visited and shared information by people from all over India, so wait until someone will post results from other parts of India too. I dont understand, why you are making it an issue. People are confirming that EDGE have nearly 3 times speed than CDMA. You believe or dont, fact is fact. And yes, before you say something, I suggest you to take some information about EDGE explained in non-technical terms. If you understand technical definitions Google have that too. If you are not getting similar results we are getting its not our fault. Do some proper study, you may also get it. I have every right to post my opinions and experience here like you. But I know I did not offend you, but you did. I have not yet taken your negative remarks very seriously. I know life is full of people of every type. Some only talk and do no work. So smile and post if you have any new informatio here to post. I will love to see it. I also request you to not to take this thread off-topic. We are comparing netconnects of different mobile internet isps. I hope you will not overreact again and hope you will move on to new things. C mahendra
  18. Usb Data Cable Or Serial Cable

few years before I would have adviced you SERIAL port cable as it never fails with IRQ Conflicts due to IRQ 3 and 4 were permanently assigned to Serial Port COM3 and COM4 which were fixed. I still prefer Serial port for using Internet from Modems or Mobiles used as Modems. Serial COM port speed is 921600 Baud depending on the computers chipset. So it will not be any problem if you want to fetch 900kbits/sec line. Earlier we have been happily running Scanners/Printers/ExternalHDDs on Serial Com Ports and also on Parallel Ports. Due to fixed and preprogrammed channels on Motherboard chipset the conflict and failure was almost none. So still FIVE STARS from me for Serial Cable. But Now things are changing the speeds can go upwards beyond the limits of Serial Ports so USB is the only way we should select which is ready for near future equipments. But USB ports are based on shared IRQ and Plug-N-Play technology. Different USB ports use same channel hence there is slowdown in transfer sometimes and many a times a conflict in channels or IRQ's. I have three USB ports on my ACER laptop but I cannot connect my USB Cable for reliance netconnect in port no.1 and 2. The third port in the front side takes the Cable and assigned PORT 18 to it, otherwise I get CONFLICT error everytime no matter I try to change the port number manually from control panel. Its sometimes irritating. Many a times USB items does not connect to PC. We need to RESTART our pc. Mostly happens with Mobiles. In serial cable there is no such problem of RESTARTING Pcs. I also got BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with usb devices failed to load device drivers. So should we say, new technology comes with its own problems too. I will give 4 stars to USB solution. Now the frequency of problems is too less due to licensed XPs and regular update patche. People with pirated OS are still fighting with device driver problems as many critical patches are not updated in pirated os. Go for USB cable if you have HEALTY computer. Why I am telling all above coz I am running an information webpage on serial port / parallel port / USB / Network cables, with more than million visits since Dec 1997 and its still a famous site as I get hundreds of emails each month from that webpage. http://www.geocities.com/vbmcomputers/pinout/ Did I enough confused you?

@hrithik No one counts MouthShut for choosing the phone Services. MouthShut will never shut the mouth. Lemme tell you one thing. 99% of articles in MouthShut are written by thier own people (staff). The best and only way to judge any services is UNBIASED forums. And yes, there could be some BIASED forums too. So take care. Judge on your own common sense and experience. Its always better to do some homework before doing any argument or debate in Forums. It will keep you updated and will make you more experienced. But its true Data Cards are not properly working in south india (I personally got some bad reports in Bangalore from friends) but there is no problem in Mumbai and Pune, where I myself am using them and posted the results. I am also using Net at outstanding speed which is stable and I can do most of the work in my laptop with Airtel EDGE Data Card (Black Matchbox type Rs.4999/-). I did not recently tested PCMCIA from reliance. C MAhendra
  20. I CAN DESCRIBE MTNL / BSNL / RELIANCE / TATA / IDEA .... in single line...... LE LO LE LO! RASTE KAA MAAL SASTE ME lolz They all can compete with each other for MisManagement of services, Dis-organisation, Non-interaction between departments, Ignorance at Gallery. Dont beleive? Go visit any two different galleries of same companies and ask for GPRS details or ask details about latest phone you see on their website. You will find them equal in all above aspects and yes, I still regularly see people sitting in Reliance HeadOffice fighting over False billing of Postpaid connections, as I stay in next building of Reliance Head Office in Mumbai. ha ha ha.

well well ! I dont travel throughout the country This is just few visits I do frequently to southern part of maharashtra and Belgaum city (mera sasural). Solapur, Bijapur, Dharwad, Hubli, etc are few places I recently go. But sure will take my laptop everywhere i go (coz net-related bizness) and will post the results here and MFC (Motorolafans.com), my regular place.

That statement about Airtel Edge is completely false and I can authentically state that because I live in silicon valley of India. This performance could have been a sporadic nature and that too would have been limited to claimant's area alone due to less density of Airtel subscribers. @kesav Your ignorance is not your innocense. Please google a bit about the EDGE which can give upto 384 kbits per sec (actual 48 kbyte download) as per its technical specifications (8 timeslots of 48kbits each). So better do some homework before you open your mouth like that. FORUMS are for information and its always better read whole thread before you try to prove someone wrong. I do the same, thats why you will be proved wrong now For more information about your information read this source>>> 247kbps by AIRTEL Prepaid (Rs.15 per day for unlimited download) with MOBILE OFFICE with EDGE enabled phones. >> http://www.airtelworld.com/level2_t3data.aspx?path=1/106/179 This link will show you how much speed officially Airtel can give you on EDGE Data cards. So take care about your INNOCENSE. LOLZ Why I posted because I am using. Why you said its FALSE because you are not using it. Airtel is India's best, so dont underestimate it. Getting best EDGE service everywhere in my laptop, i use for presentations of my web-applications. Yes we do control lots of MSSQL Databases hosted in our USA Servers in from same connection while travelling. Trust or not, telling all my routine work experience. For a cure of your ignorance, can post few more related threads here for details. But better read available information, then use it, and then post something like that. LOLZ (he he he Silicon Valley of india, that was nice joke, Me too here in Mumbai dude and have my own Internet company, so you can guess I may not be bluffing like others.) Better you argue with Airtel people not me. and yes read this bit old topic too >> http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=10509 C mahendra Mumbai India

i m using lg 2330 for more than a year as my standby netconnect, its b/w but tough model, speed is good when connected but later slows down, I am 100% sure as this is not a handset problem, but a network issue. Its not a bad choice for net.
  25. @C. Mahendra My dear friend my information is 100% correct about the GPRS tariffs of Vodafone. You can check the same at the following link. In this link you can even get the settings for GPRS. http://www.vodafone.in/vbs/pages/mobileconnect.aspx Regards. arey ok baba, ok. got it. Looks like they have kept this information in business solution section where I did missed to check. Thanks for the info. You are man.
