May be U can post the image with appropriate link on a wap site (I am not a wap expert ) and try. But still I have doubts coz - How will the set make out which of the 20 slots is ready to get the image?? If the Jatayuu Browser client can do that for you then it is possible.
-
Nope _ what I am saying is even horrible. If Ur set dials 5 calls a minute (not unusual if U R chatting) then big bills are no surprise if each of the dialing is charged a fresh call ... and this is most likely the case atleast in my set.
-
Although many here may say that it has nothing to do __ my personal opinion is that U disable dormancy (by pinging a server like yahoo) and Ur bill will reflect the true usage at least if Ur phone is buggy _ I guess. I have seen that my set (7130) goes into dormancy and the way it comes out most of the times is by dialing #777 and explanably I got HUGE bills. Well this may be a bug in my set (even after s/w update it is same). I also recollect a friend(on LG 2030) who said he used R-connect 1 hr every sunday only to get a bill of 5000 of R-Connect per month!! He then stopped using R-Connect but Now with Color set he says that isn't the case. Even without dormancy my usage time is almost one and half times that I have logged locally on my copmuter. (BSNL etc reflected my log within 1 hr so I can't be wrong). So it may be that Ur set is transmitting wrong usage time to the reliance server (This is how usage is logged on standard plan - I heard). Hope this helps U get some clues

I agree with vingan in that although LG people do pay attention on "Look Good" They don't take that much care to see that the features are user friendly .. LG developers show surprising ignorance by not providing features available on (m)any other cheapest phones.

Are U trying to download from a wap site of yours?? I don't think U can get a image placed on a html page in any case. Not sure of wap site either. The image should be a 256 color bitmap with the specs U mentioned. Also U can try using Pc sync app or bitpim to directly add the image file into Ur phone.
-
I don't think that is possible at all. (unless U hack into Reliance database).
-
I really duno what exactly it does - But it is the modem initialization string - tell the modem to go to data mode and some packet setting to 3 something. If U remove the modem init string obviously it won't work.
-
I don't think FWP has ability to decode the MMS call (which is nothing but a executable SMS that takes U to the appropriate link in R_World NetWork) _ So it is showing something nonsense I guess.
-
I don' t think anyone knows that as of now.
-
Is it having more functionality/uses than UniCDMA? I am just expecting a Yes/No kind of answer - more details may not be healthy for this baoerd __ I fear.

May be U can try Reset R-World from the phone Menu. and Clear memory from More Tools option at R-World?
-
Hi Guys More progress with BREW Communication Protocol!! Presenting to you all the: First custom made Brew comm app for LG RD Phones!! Although it has only two test functions it is indeed a start! Download the test Application Here: LG RD Phone Brew Communication Test App Enjoy!! Disclaimer: Use at your own risk!!

when your R-World starts giving errors that can't be correcteed by Reset-Rmenu and Clear Memory(from R world) U need that (reburn of R world) Till then enjoy

I think the script required for saving Rt/wall paper in gtran is different from LG/Samsung (It's file system [EFS] MUST be different) So U may not have any luck until R-World guys update and add links relevent to Ur phone too. Else U can try one thing. Goto MMS (Hope that works ) and send a MMS to Urself with the rt as an attachemnt. Once U recieve the MMS save the rt from that. R-World ringtones are universally bad anyway (or is it just me thinking that way ?)
-
Nope U can indeed download 20 even on 7130 (7230 is similar) so should be possible unlike Ur LG person said But the stupid java applet at R-World seees only the initial 3. So it is a issue with R-World rather than your phone. If U want to confirm try saving the wallpaper from a MMS (U can send a MMS to Urself and save from it ). Indeed it is possible but there are a lot of problems... 1. U need to record a Voice/tone to set it as ringtone* (These are stored at a different place than the usual ring tones). 2. Custom ringtones U downloaded or the handset default tones can't be used. 3. The intensity of the recorded tones is too weak . I haven't yet found out where the hell the phone stores these custom VoiceBells. Lets me see sometime if we can *reverse eng* that to add any rt from bitpim * Procedure for setting a custom Voice Bell: Select a phone book Entry and select "Edit" Scrol Down the various feilds (Name, Group ...) Until U reach "Voice". Select that Option--> Edit and U will see a screen: Set Voice Bell ----------------- 1. Deactivate 2. Record 3. Voice Bells ---------------- Voice: 0/10 ----------------- Sel 1.Select the Record Option. 2.Record the Voice. 3.and Set it as a voice Bell I think the PC sync app allows that .. Some one was writing so on this forum (I don't have 7230 to confrim). Address Book management is crap anyway in 7130 (and so should be 7230). Hope this helps U some

Here are some details about the BREW protocol: The only two sources I can get hold of to get info is Bitpim and BAL (Qualcomm's Brew uploader). I made them to communicate with the phone and used a serial analyser to dissect out the sent data. BAL and Bitpim use different protocols: ======================================== BAL uses high speed one (115200) and Bitpim uses 38400 so the commands in both vary. All mode change commands require confirmation (that is same command to be sent succesively twice before the phone can respond to it.) In Bitpim protocol: Runs at 38400 bitspersec. (use AT$QCDMG at 11500 to switch to BREW DM mode) All BREW commands (binary) begin with Y and end with ~ (~ is the brew terminator 0x7e hex). So all the brew responses should end with ~ else assume that the data recieved is incomplete and retry. Another situation is a BREW exception which does not end with a ~ The following are the Brew exception Error codes I know of: 0x1c - No more directory entries 0x08 - No such directory 0x06 - No such file 0x1a - Bad pathname 0x0b - File is locked 0x0d - Name is too long 0x07 - Directory already exists

Static should each unknown command be different from the previous one ? Also what command U tried? I bombarded my 7130 with a unknown command AT$CC 10000 times and still nothing happened ??
-
It might drain more battery and might burn the reception hardware (I want to stress "might" there by meaning nothing might happen too
-
Find out the nearest Motorola service center from Reliance Helpline (Dial *333) and go there to get it repaired for free
-
Thanks for the compliments Static I don't think it is possible to attach binary file here(1.62 MB). Give me the email address U want me to send it to.
-
vingan I didn't blame their customer care but LG handsets have a lot of bugs (I ironically called them features). And I think LG customer care are almost helpless bout it. Ofcourse my words may go wrong(happily) after hearing about the top notch performance after the latest update
-
OK thanks for the info
-
If U have the app still in Ur mobile can U give the url/link to that so that we can add it to our favorites and check it out?
-
if so then yes.. I think 7230 should support this as 7130 does it (both are similar in many ways I guess - except camera) I have seen a set of my froend with lost menus - 2130 so if such is the case then s/w upgrade helps else ... nothing and he should be "happy" with that "feature" of LG
