Very low signal strengths can cause excessive heating(to an extent) However if so much that U need to change hands then urgently visit Authorised Service center.

They said they(atleast on cc rep) can(post paid)... But they(ohers) insist/persist "Sir, why don't U simply stay on zero rental default plan???" They usually don't "seem" to understand any explnation U offer for need to discontinue R-Conect.

I think I replied in another post that it could be their(RIM) policy to decrease ratio of sms going offnet (sms jokes etc constitute bulk of this category & are usually >140 chars) as compared to on net(for whcih they is no ADC etc) to maximize their profit.

dhondusaxena the problem faced by akhileshril seems to be different. He apparently is unable to see the MMS application in R-Wolrd. Without access to MMS I wonder how one can download the ringtone on to the handset by the method I described in the link U gave.

I assume Ur prob is that U can't see the wallpaper/ringtone directories. Sorry to say no one can prolly help that... LG has shifted the ringtone/wallpaper directories to system directories. However U can get custom wallpaper/ringtones using MMS: Sending Your Own Ringtones/wallpapers Thru R-world MMS

That means MMS App is not there in R-World in 6130. So no MMs ringtones. Are U able to save ringones from Native MMS app ? If that is not there then the only way(other than paid services) is writing a custom app after rev-engineering the hidden ringtone directory structure of 6130... May be some one with free time can take up the project....

Did U send the MMS-Mail to Ur old No or the new 93 series number?? I think 93 conversion was already over the time U bought this h/s... was just checking. If U can't open any MMS then it is a R-World issue wid Ur phone so U need to contact Reliance customer care for resolving it. Many a people who had same problem with other h/s got it resolved this way. Another thing is to give a try with bitpim using data cable on it (but now-a-days reliance policy is to hide the ringtone directories from the user).

I think it isn't tht surprising tht they charge for these sms as R-World is simply a link platform for ease.. & the sms is being sent as any other sms(the only prob is it may not look so obvious to the user initially __ but hey that's how mobile companies make money ) . How bout expecting free call to Webworld etc from the City Guide

I was planningto get the software of my LG RD 7130 "upgraded". But I am worried that I read in a thread on this forum that upgrade causes more problems So what do U ppl who upgraded the soft suggest ?? BTW I contacted their cust care as my Messaging menu (MMS webmail and Greetings) always say that R-World not ready) was not working - they said ugrading the s/w is the only option. - Did any one face his prob ?

As of now there is No other known means of adding ringtone & walpapers other than using MMS in R-World. That doesn't mean U can't upload Ur custom wallpaper & Ringtone. U need to upload(send) Ur file to Ur MMS inbox as an E-mail & Save it from Ur h/s. As for 2230 user interface is concerned it is very similar to 5130 (integration of Messaging Menu into recent calls,custom profiles etc). It doesn't have R-World & so no MMS ringtones. Also the ringtone directory (same as 5130) has been put up under system directories. So no question of bitpim. However it may be possible to write a custom s/w to upload ringtones into it - someting which I am too busy to think of now. May be some one in this forum can write it... However it might harm the revenues for SMS ringtones

U have seperate settings for Game sounds on 7130. Open any bulit in game and the side up-down let will let U change the Game Sound Voulme/mute it

U can have bigger sizes but the number of channels has to be less. And possibly some of the lower freq instruments also affect the size that can be played. I have a mid on my 7130 which is full 17kb and it plays. I am not engouraging U to load large fils & get into trouble but upto 5-6 or even 7 kb shuld be fine most of the time. And for larger sizes one more thing to esnure is that the actual size entry in the header files is made using a hex-Editor. (I think niket or some one discussed it already)

Check the Data settings & speed on Ur handset. It shud be 11500 kbps. If that's OK then.. Did U try restarting the phone ? Switch off the phone. Remove the battery. Short the battery contacts on the phone (Don't short the battery else battery may explode!!!). Put back the battery. Restart. Try connecting. If all esle fails - check if the cable socket on phone appears to be damaged/visit a LG ASC. Bitpim is a Open source PIM manager that allows uploading of ringtones wallpapers of Ur choice etc to Ur Brew Enabled phone (unless it is specifically restricted - as in newer models like 2130/2230/5130/6130 etc). Even my 7130 gives nasty shocks. I took it ASC and showed them the amount of current leak that is ocuuring. They showed other similar chragers which did the same too. They say newer chargers have the Ground pin(3 pin top) and hence this has been taken care of and adviced me to buy a travel charger with 3 pins. Any way reverse Ur phase-neutral (plug in the charger reverse into the socket - U won't get shock - or better still avoid touching it while being charged if U have the problem.
