I have HTC 826 dual sim, its not supporting 4G, I Tried Reliance 4G as well as GIO-4G.

But HTC is selling it as 4G....So have to be carefull before buying HTC 826 as 4G supported .

do *#*#4636#*#* in dialpad, go to phone information, There would be a drop down which allows you to change network types. choose LTE. If it falls back on WCDMA or any other network, then your phone doesnt support LTE.

Well, so will my 4G SIM card work or not? :)

I have sent SMS to 1299 and also used the online system to register for an upgrade on 31 May.

IT should work after you spend some 1/2 hour in an agry phone call with customer care...you and i both know how reliance works..."der hai, andher bhi hai, but chalta bhi hai"

hey guys , I am from shalimar Bagh , Delhi . Mine CDMA has been upgraded to 4G

Since yesterday it was telling to be switched off & also i was unable to to do outgoing calls

but yesterday i recd a sms  from reliance that when your screen shows "no service" then put the new 4g GSM sim & enjoy . But i didn't experianced the said screen

the operator name  is showing as Reliance 4G

but the data symbol i.e. 2G or 3G or 4G on the network symbol is missing

    anyways "abb bhugto" isko bhi

Hey arun....maybe u need to get your sim patched....after that you would start getting data.

I am interested to know more about this 'patch'. Can we not do this at home? Is there some app which could allow us to make changes - provided we know what those changes are?

I required it.... coz there was no data connection. QPST (Qualcomm diagnostic software) showed that it was unable to start pdp context ( My interpretation : the cipher and allowed cypto methods between network and sim dint match.)...i dint get into much detail as it was reported here that after sim patch data would start working.

And it was true...after the patch, i was getting 3G data...there were many who are suffering with the same....as evident by rush on shops.

No, it cant be done at home...you need to have a SIM reader/writer, and you need to have the cypto keys which allow you to have memory access on SIM.

    I never got 4G network. :(

I am not even sure if it was 4g or some anomaly .... i was working with wifi tethering with phone put on charging....and for my linux live distro of 1 gb was downloaded when i came back after making tea....

1000 mB ... 10 mins.... 100 mB per minute .... it could have been only possible due to lte..

    Anyways...i checked...and i was back on 3g with ~2 mBps.

:( I hope it works soon for you..Yesterdy i was in web world. as you said, old people are really annoyed and frustrated. They dont need 4g or anything. Many dont even use internet, i see they have old handset. but at same time these webworld guys aren't really helping.

I was their cause data isnt working after migration, he said he have reader but it doesnt work on windows 7, it works on xp. it doesnt take driver. i said let me help out, i can install driver, it just need manual installation. he is like, no our IT guy will come and do it, and i also have many friends who can do it, i am like i am just trying to help you, and it will just speed up process and help people. but i didn't get positive acknowledgement. idk when his IT guy will come and do it..

Similar experience here... went to nearest web world shop...saw the guy struggling with sim reader...he did not know in which direction to insert the sim. (Personal observation: the sim patching devices which reliance is handing over to them are...well buggy, they seem like sawed off version of sim reader)

Anyways...i offered to help but this guy was too proud i guess....my 10+ years of telecom and hardware/software patching seemed irrelevant. :)

The next shop flatly refused. Finally, the one at Pitam pura (like 5 kms from my house) was much more accommodating....i helped him patch the imported handsets (APN, *#*#4636*#*# network selection etc) Spent like an hour after my sim was patched helping other customers...the shop was empty when i was allowed to leave.:)

Enough of this endless waiting for 4G.

I warn these Ambani brothers to get in line and start 4G.

    Otherwise.....

I will be compelled to get 2 rcom 2G sims, insert into my dual sim phone, activate data in both and forcefully extract 2G+2G = 4G data from rcom network.

    ☺☺☺☺

I feel anil ambani does the same math...thats why he made us have 2 sims...1 with 1x data and other with 3G

Reliance customer service never ceases amaze me.

Went to Reliance store in Delhi. Actually went to 3 of them. They all say that SIM patch will take time because they have the card reader but the don't have patching software. A guy will come with a pen drive and install the patching software in their computers. Then only they can start patching the SIM. Asked me to wait 1 more day. Lol

Which ones did u try...i am going out to get the same done...lets see if they have it...i will be suprised if they have it.

Yes, initial lot of sim cards were lacking some setting. They have provided the required software to gallery , it takes 2 minutes to update the software in the sim card after which your sim card will be able to get data. Those who got their sim cards in later batches are facing no such problem.

The gallary which we have here is run by morons. Will try and find a better one.
