  1. Do You Think Reliance Is Reliable?

Hey Rajesh... What are you talking about ? About Relieance Comunications ? or Reliance Energy ? or Relieance Infra ? or Reliance Petroleum ? or Reliance Capital ? All in "one shot" ? I am confused. The question is one, but about five different companies in "one shot". About two different industrial groups in "one shot". I am confused also because the question "... the question is how reliable IS company ?... " has "IS" and not "are". Well... as the people already expressed - reliability itself is a relative term and cannot be quantified. If you have question about the reliability of Reliance's mobile service, I think most of the people on this forum would vote for or against it. But I believe that Reliance is the most reliable mobile service provider. Most of the things people know that its a pan-india service network, i guess the only competition on this front is Airtel. But to argue in favour of that I just recall one incident. Remeber Mumbai floods ? No cellular or landline network worked in that flood, even MTNL's landline was not working but Reliance gave uninterrupted service even during that difficult time. What more reliability you want ? But yes you can raise the question of reliability, morality and many more on these groups' companies. But so you can raise the question to any other industrial giants also. Tata is a legendry name but I'll never use its phone service after a bitter CC experience. Does that mean they are bad ? All such things are relative. As people said Reliance is trend setter and atleast I fully believe that as far as Reliance mobile service is concerned.
  2. I dont think it would work with any other provider. If my guessing is right, it will not be RUIM based. The reason behind believing this is that the same is true with BSNL.
  3. This is very poor speed. Doesnt look to be advisable for this cost.
  4. Intex Launches new cheap CDMA handset

I think, at this price, people will trust LG more than any other brand.
  5. Lima Handsets

Hi, Today I have seen posters of Lima handsets. There were 4 models on the posters. The biggest photo was of Smart 70. All of them looked attractive. Some of the features mentioned on the poster, which I remember are : Dual SIM CDMA+GSM Blue tooth MP3, MP4 FM Price : Rs. 5400 for Smart 70. Looked like some Indian company manufacturing it. The dealer is going to show it on Tuesday. It will come with bill and 1 year warranty. Anybody heard of them ? Do you think they are worth ?
  6. Just read the thread. I wonder that why people are not considering BSNL's EVDO or wait for Reliance's EVDO ? BSNL EVDO has theoritical speed of 2mbps. Though depending on your area, it mostly give decent speed where you can even download movies in few hours. Its Rs. 550/month for unlimited without any bandwidth restriction. Its usb and can be used on the move.
  7. Though I am deviating a bit from the topic, I would still like to ask this question. Why people still feel that subscribing to CDMA "locks" you ? Now Reliance and Tata both offer SIM based handsets and you can switch handsets just like GSM handsets. Apart from that the tariffs on CDMA, especially on Reliance, are also cheaper (though its a relative term). Gone are the days when you had only 2 handsets on Reliance, now you can have all kind of variety in the handsets and there are hundreds of them available in market freely. Starting from Rs. 700 to Rs. 25000. You have freedom to choose any handsets. CDMA also has pan India coverage. It offers better data speed than GSM. Then how its locking us ?
  8. Does Reliance consider Mumbai and Maharashtra same ?
  9. Even if that is the case, they can get 2mbps and not 2mBps. The difference is of bits and bytes.
  10. Theoritical speed on EVDO is 2 mbps. The speed goes down as more users hook to the same source. All user on that tower share the same bandwidth. I dont expect any change in the way EVDO works. I dont think it can be alternative to wired broadband.
  11. I doubt. I guess, it will not be cheaper than BSNL.
  12. I am not sure whether Online Recharge for GSM can be discussed here or not, if not please put this post to a suitable place. I just used ICICI Bank for Rs. 35 STV for RGSM. That is for getting STD at 70 ps. The amount got debited from my account but I have not received any SMS from Reliance. Its more than 30 mins. now. I doubt that online recharge is possible for RGSM Can anybody throw light on this ?
  13. EVDO is already available on BSNL for quite a long time. So far they offer cheapest unlimited plan.
  14. Still TOI printed the BSNL news on front page. And nobody knows about TATA plan so far. All these BSNL things are marketing gimmicks.
  15. Do you think paying a fee of Rs. 325 for getting this tariff cheap ?
  16. Its just another plan. You need to pay 375/month for which you get only 50 Rs. talk time. Out of that 50 Rs. you can talk 100 mins. (ie. 50 ps./minute). You may topup to continue taking advantage of this plan. In term of "Packs" terminology, you are buying this pack for Rs. 325. I dont know how attractive it is and how much attention it should get in media.
  17. Check This New Photography Technology

Its unbelievable. No other adjectives but just amazing !
  18. Reliance launches STD offer for Reliance Mobile GSM

Is it available for Maharashtra ? Just asked to CC, its available in Maharashtra too.
  19. I am using BitPim 1.0.6 - Official. BitPim 1.0.7 is a test release. Will it solve the problem ?
  20. New Coolpad 188 (g+c)handset From Coolpad

    Coolpad supports any CDMA
  21. 500 Min R2r Free Every Month....

Ha... Ha... Ha... Really a good calculation. I guess, once the Interconnect Usage charges fall, which looks like a real possibility now, this kind of costly packs will look even dearer.
  22. On 3610, I placed two .mid files with suggested file naming pattern - 5110000191.mid and 5120000191.mid but the phone shows them as 5110000 and 5120000 respectively. While entering into the menu (ie. Profiles -> Genenral -> Edit -> Ring Tone -> Downloaded) it always shows that the last file is selected and it always plays the first file. Irrespective of the selection, for incoming call the first file gets played. This happens when there are more than one file in brew->shared->ringers. If I delete first file on phone, the next file which becomes first file gets played. So effectively, when there are more files on the phone only first file gets played for incoming calls and the last file is shown as selected. Has anybody experienced this problem ? Any solution/workaround ?
  23. This method worked for LG RD 3610. The only difference is that I installed 3600's PC Sync Setup downloaded from lgmobiles.com. I didnt install Nokia's drivers given in the first post of this thread. In Device Manager this phone shown as "LGE CDMA USB Serial Port (COM11)" under Ports. I could user Bitpim to add ringtones. And I could also use PC Sync of LG RD 3600 on 3610 without any problem. For LG RD 3610, Nokia's CA-101 cable is required.
