Thanks kshah. For 3500, PC Sync is already available so no need to edit dll file. In my case if 3600's PC Sync will not work then I need to edit 3600's dll file. But what are the specific things that require to be replaced in the dll ? Can give me the name of the cable so that I can ask the shop owner ?

I mentioned that I need data cable. Can you tell me which data cable will work with 3610 ? Where can I find that ? I tried ebay but its not there. Is there any alternative ? What would be the approx. price ?

I am looking for the same. I just surveyed the market. There are few branded phones. Samsung 2on (12k+), Fly V80i (3800), Spice (so far only negative feedback from forum members), Coolpad 188 (4200). Coolpad 2938 (12k) - looks excellent but very high price, probably one more Coolpad is coming after mid Feb. And there are lots of Chinese mobiles - including some good brand - CECT and A918. Also there is one "brand" Lima, but forum member are saying that it too is Chinese. Currently I am waiting for the new model of Coolpad which might come in Feb. Otherwise I am leaning towards Coolpad 188 or Fly v80i.

In current telecom scenario, I see the most useful feature in a handset is the dual SIM. There are very few "branded" handsets in this category. Samsung has 2on but costs 12k+. Then you have spice, fly, coolpad and chinese handsets. So I am really confused. Dual SIM handsets is now the need of the hour because after Reliance offering GSM service, the tarrif war is imminent. So I am searching different options in dual sim which should not be more than Rs. 6500.

Well... May be. But then most of the reputed companies are also manufacturing their handsets either in china or taiwan. It can be Nokia, Samsung or even LG. Coolpad is a chinese make sold by Reliance through WWE with bill and warranty. So, I would like to have opinion from the members, whether we should go for such "branded" handsets or not ? What are their experiences so far ?

I have recently lost a good CECT (Chinese) handset. I loved that dual sim handset. But, now I am back to square one, looking for a handset. Either I'll go for LG's 3610/3500/3510 or some dual sim handset. Apart from other criteria, I want good length for Contact Name in address book. In my lost chinese handset or even in LG's hadsets it is 18 characters. In my old Kyocera 7135 it is virtually infinite so I am used to higher number of characters. Can you please tell me the length of characters which can be entered in contact-name in your handsets ? Do you have any suggestion on this ?

The new SIM cards are very cheap. I dont think anybody will put his head to reuse a SIM card. If you like other services, better move to a new service and throw away the old card.

Is it? If you are a high user, reliance postpaid is the cheapest and the best option. They have had the one rupee calling plan for almost an year before the one india plans came into being. Now, with the new ROI399 plan, I can call any Reliance phone across the country for just 40 paise..and rest all for 1 rupee..and all roaming calls for just 40 paise a minute...plus SMS as per standard tariff even while roaming..plus superior call quality and cheap rates while roaming internationally. You call it expensive? Moreover, I would never even go for a rent free or cheaper but crappy services of Airtel or Hutch (atleast in Delhi), and I don't have to as I have the option of Reliance postpaid with superior voice quality and huge network...I have been using it for more than an year now and quite satisfied... Amtrag rightly said...it all depends on your usage...If you are a low user, even RIM prepaid is not bad at all. I am also using the same plan ROI399. But recently when I gone to my native place. The incoming costs has been charged to 1.75 rs per min. Actually, With the new changed roaming rates, the new roaming rates which are applicable is 1.75 Rs per min. I agree with the logic. But for MNP, nobody is serious about it. It is still a distant dream. Till the time RCDMA is competent in tariff it would rule and have loyal customers like me.

I recently checked low end handsets in Pune. There are only 3 from LG; 3600 @ Rs. 2600, 3500 @ Rs. 1800, 3510 @ Rs 1800 . Nothing interesting much. But I need to buy one. I think out of these 3600 is a good buy. Any other interesting idea ?
