I am a Gujarati and I care about Gujarat. Doing this type of stunts by BJP Yuva Morcha (not the whole BJP) is just sending wrong signals to the world. We Gujratis are now showing great amount of intolerance every now and then. The whole problem is not because of Gujarati ppl or Aamir Khan. The whole problem is created by Gujarati media. They dont even care to put Aamir in double quotes. People of Gujarat really dont know what Aamir said. What Gujarat believes right now is just the impression which the Gujarati media has created. Infact, I would like to urge all my Gujrati brothers and siststers that plz. plz. plz. read what Aamir really said. Please read in the double quotes. Dont just follow what Gujarat Samachar said.
Everyody has right to hate Aamir but after knowing the facts abt what Aamir said. Please read this and find out that Aamir never said anything against Gujarat, against Sardar Sarovar, against BJP, against Modi. This is transcript of Aamir's interview with ibn-live. Infact you will be able to find out that he is supporting the Sardar Sarovad dam, totally opposite to what Gujarat Samachar said !
Besides, I want to ask some simple question:
1. We Gujaratis want to ban Fana because Aamir stars in it.
2. Will we Gujaratis ban coke because Aamir stars in its ad. ?
3. Will we Gujaratis stop using Toyota because Aamir stars in its ad. ?
Plz. dont give bad name to Gujarat. Plz. be mature, read/hear what Aamir really said. We should react on the authentic source of information and not to the weired Gujarati media.
But now, there are already hints that ppl really want to see Fana in Gujarat, BJP as a party is not supporting the ban, association of multiplexes already feel the pinch of not releasing the film. I am really hoping that on coming friday, Fana will be on in Gujarat without much problem. Ashok Purohit of City Pulse, Gandhinagar has started campaigning in favour of Aamir. I think everything will be settled and those who are doing vicious campaign against Aamir without much knowledge on the whole issue will not show their faces.

I think, this will surely be useful to all of us.
It combins numeric and alphabetic keypads. This hack replaces the built-in on-screen keyboard. This keypad should improve your typing efficiency. It's simple to use too. Alternatively D-Keyboard Hack is also useful but its 30 days evalution version.

Well one more query DAPO has the option to carry 400 minutes for 3 month does delight follow the same ?Delight doesnt give 400 mins, so there is no question of carrying forward. What it gives is 160 Rs. of talk time and I dont think that can be carried forward.

The link is invalid now. I have found out http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17853 which shows PST ver. 3.8.18. I think this might be newer than the above link. Also let me know if there are newer version of Phone Firmware and SZ image. If not, make the above like alive.
I have also noticed that many ppl came across the error of invalid SPC. I just hope I will get through it.

Hi EveryoneWe should check which is the best plan according to our usage before shifting to other plan, remember if you shift from DAPO you will not get again. I am in DAPO (POC1, 6350 plan) paying rental of 500 (400 from May) and completed 3 years. I was going to shift to lower rental plan then I prepared this attached Excel Sheet, this is suggesting me DAPO is the best plan, as from this month Plan charge of 100 is removed.
This would have great if Reliance introduces Region-wise call charges in DAPO and discount of 160 in total bill amount instead of 0.40 every minut.
Anyway we are getting good benifits

Free R-R STD(within 400 mts.) which I use most.

I have checked you sheet which is useful to great extent.
But.... still this cannot give you even a near to real picutre if the usage is beyond 400 Mins. Suppose I made some calls on GSM inside 400 Mins and some after 400 Mins, this tool cannot help. This just because of the different tariff inside and outside 400 Mins. For the example, GMS call inside 400 Min is 80 Ps. and it is 1.20 Rs. outside 400 mins. This is just an example and its true for even CDMA, Landline, IntraCircle and InterCircle. I think we cannot make a tool which can really tell the exact (or even near to exact) picture. It still greatly depends on your instinct and not the calculation.

Thanks Kumaar for the detailed posting. And double thanks for sharing the Delight plan details with clarity.
Now, my question is, why would one switch to Delight plan at all ? Because, if "....Call rates, Rentals, Free minutes, Free SMS, R World membership,other conditions) will continue to be same" for DAPO customers then for only "Other Plan charges" one will not switch. The reason is simple, you can avoid "other plan charges" by upgrading your handset. I did the same, I had the early Samsung. I changed the handset and paid some extra 2000 Rs. (i dont remember it correctly). And I got waiver on "other plan charges". I am not sure that the same offer is still available or not. I did it approximately one and half year back.
So, in effect your DAPO will charge you 400 Rs. and the Delight will charge you 399. But DAPO will continue with its freebies. Then why not to stick to the original plans ?

1. Too much discussion is going on... which plan will be better. I would like to draw your attendtion towards the barometer which is provided by TRAI. Trai made it mandatory for all the service provider to publish their plan in its format. Though Reliance has provided the information in its own format (like Joy plans) it has published its plan in Trai format also.

This format can be used to compare plans across service providers. That means you can even compare plans between reliance and idea also.
And I think its the best way to compare your plans if you are a "general" user.
What I mean by "general" is the general usage by majority of the people. Trai has recommended the same for drawing out the plan:
Intra circle Onnet 52%, GSM 17%, Fixed 10%
Inter cricle Onnet 6%, GSM 10%, Fixed 5%.
If you are not falling in this general category then you can calculated your Final Bill based on the format given in the above link and your calling pattern.
I hope this will help many people.
2. Though we are discussing about the new delight plans, nobody has given the difference between the 399 and 499 plan. Besides somewhere somebody has mentioned that 160 Rs. of talk in one of the plan but it is not mentioned that at what tariff rate and for which plan.
Can somebody clearly compiles all the infromation on delight plans and give the information in layman terms

Got some news for existing DAPO customers... new plans are being unveiled...delight 299, delight 399 and delight 499 are the plan names
* you will get RIM to RIM unlimited SMS + 25 rs of offnet SMS
* Re.1 for all india calls
* in delight 499 and 399, its 40 p/min reliance all india
* you will get offnet calls discount of Rs.160 also
These are rough points that I heard from a source, more exact details should be available by Tuesday.
Any details ?
btw, there must be something now in horizon because only 5 days left for the completion of initial DAPO scheme.

Junta look at the other face of the coin. Less people will enter in the Higher Education using fair means I mean by the real hard work so they have to face less challenge in career because private sector pays only to the best. In career the best will survive.You might be aware that govt. is also proping the idea of reservation in private sector. And believe me that is already on cards and will become reality anytime soon.

Social justice is a good cause and I think most of us do not have problem with the cause. but its increasingly illogical to do it with only one method - reservation. In last 50 years we have seen the result of applying this method. And if it is still required to implement the method then its evident that the method is not serving the cause. Besides as per the constitution itself, the reservation was for 10 years from independece. Infact there are better ways to serve the cause and which will be effective also. I think, nobody should have a problem to help the weaker section by means of scholarships. Infact we can even think of giving free education, free books, free meals, free bicycles etc... if the basic priciple is to raise the status of the weaker section than, the method should be to help them to such an extent so that they can raise themselves. But the method currently applied is to stop the so called "stronger" section so that the weaker section takes their places !
Can you call it "Justice", if you disallow a meritorius student taking a seat so that a person from a weaker section can take his sear ? Merit should not be compromised when it comes to education. But we should help everybody to achieve the merits. By constitution, everybody should be provided equal opportunites. I think reservation is against this basic principle of the equal opportunity. It is an injustice to a section to apease the other section.
Infact, the game is not understood by the weaker section that they are becoming a vote bank and are victim of apeasement policies of the political parties. History has shown us that no long term solution has come by applying apeasement gimmicks.
I dont understand the logic of calling the weaker section Dalits. Why do we want to tag ourselves ? Then what was wrong with the word "Harijan" ? Infact we should understand that those doing Bahujan politics are not for bahujans but for themselves. Let all come to mainstream.
I think we all should unite for the social justice and against reservation because that is the only way the weaker section will come to main stream and drive India to glowing future.

I think, the best way to compare any plan of any service provider is to look for their tariff in TRAI format
. This is the one for Reliance Postpaid. And This is for prepaid. This is a sure way to estimate your total monthly bill. But yes, for the current discussion, where std usage is very high, a different kind of calculation is required. One thing is sure, for a user with 80% std, only postpaid will be cheaper.Just for your info, the 2 new LG handsets (Rs. 2600 for handset + life time offer) are very sleek. may be sleeker than most of the GSMs. I dont know about the quality but they are decent in their looks.

You can change your circle from maharashtra to rajasthan but in that process your number will be changed and since the lifetime scheme is tied with the phone number, you will loose your lifefitime scheme.
I have confirmed this from web world before taking Life900 postpaid plan. Still you can confirm with your CC for prepaid. -

High End sets on cdma r not good comparatively on gsm but also d fact is dat basic nokia cdma handset r best than ne other companies .For me ne time prefer Nk 3125.I think, this is purely a personal choice. After using, Samsung and LG in last two and half years, now I have upgraded to Kyocera 7135 smart phone. Its a PDA and I am really loving it. Its a natural path... evolving from basic handsets to high-end handsets.

I am sticking to RIM for the following reason and will continue to do so ...
1. Coverage
: The coverage is the best. Even in maharashtra it coverage is unbeatable. When all the phone lines including MTNLs and all other cellular links were not working during the flood situation in mumbai, Reliance was the only service working perfactly ok.I dont know why you people are liking Tata, I am customer of Tata FWP and I know how pathetic their service is. I am in Pune and shifted to three totally different parts of the city in last 3 years. Almost everywhere, I faced problems. Right now, they have placed a fixed antena in my house to improve the reception but of no use. I am going to disconnect the service anytime, once my bill reaches the deposit amount.
2. Cost : The cost advantage in DAPO offer. I am using my Reliance mobile like a hotlink between Pune and Ahmedabad. Besides unlimited free sms all over india, which no one offers. The free content on R-world like AajTak, NDTV 24x7, India TV and CNBC (most crucial to some people) are not offerred by any other operator
. 3. Net connection : You people might be knowing that many people buy RIM just for this. The service is better than anybody else. I wasted nearly 200 Rs. every month on TATA FWP and I remember how poor the speed was. There were times when index page also comes after 4-5 minutes ! Then I bought USB cable for my LG (btw, now I m using Kyocera). and the speed is really good.
So for me reliance is the best at this stage, lets see, what happens after DAPO....

I am not able to find any state having this facility on Tata Indicom. I am not even able to understand the logic given by abiiii that a prepaid and postpaid combination can give you unlimited std on tata indicom.
TataIndicom Prepaid is the prepaid tariff and
TataIndicom Postpaid is the postpaid tariff.
I couldnt find any scheme/value-pack having any such facility of unlimited free calling.
Though, I am not able to find such thing on RelianceInfo.com, I think I have seen such advertisement that you can make unlimited call on rim-to-rim all over india. I think it was on Rs. 700 plan, dont know it was prepaid or post-paid.

Where are the AajTak, NDTV, India TV ? Where are the songs, movie clips ? Besides, to use the so called R-world one needs to connect to net. R-world is free for DAPO customers (except U and E applications). But the above method attracts applicable per minute charges. I think there should be a way out. There should be an application, like the ones coming in new handsets which run R-world on brew. Any thoughts ?

I would also like to answer your Kashmir point. If you read the transcript of Aamir's interview (I have provieded the link in my last post), you will get your answer. But I want to ask the same question to the detractors of Aamir. VHP and Togadiya are projecting themselves as Masiha of Hindus. I want to ask you and them the same question, you asked to Aamir. Do Hindus only stay in Gujarat ? Dont they see that they are getting killed in Kashmir ? Dont they see that hindus are also being targeted in Andhra and also in Aasam ? Why dont they go and do their "good" work their ? Marne ka dar lagta hai kyaa ? Why they are just after Gujarat and the growth of Gujarat ? Why they just cant see Gujarat growing ? Why they are making Gujarat, a loboratory of their violent experiment ? Why only Gujarat ? Nilay, if you think that Aamir is anti-Gujarat, you should also think that the so called Masihas are biggest detractors of Gujarat. They are more anti-Gujarat and antinationals then anybody else in this world.
Anyway, I would still request you to read the transcript of the Aamir's interview. I dont think its appropriate on our part to respond to a matter without knowing anything about it. I think we are responding to an image created by some wasted interests. Instead of reacting to Aamir's utterings we are reacting to what others are projecting him. I am deeply hurt that the largest selling news paper of Gujarat, Gujarat Samachar never cared to put Aamir's statements in quotes. And without that it is campaigning against Aamir.
Lets get mature in our response.
