  4. UTStar PPC-6700 is the Same Handset Like HTC Apache 6700 or HTC Genius 6700 It Manufacture by HTC HTC had Recently Launched PPC-6800 Which had EVDO Rev A Against EVDO 0 in PPC-6700 with 2 Mega Pixel Camera, Install Mobile Type Keyboard with Querty Keyboad, Better Screen and Not External Antena (For USA Verizon / Sprint / AllTel / Telus / Quest Phones) Just Install Infosoft Spirent Universal PST and Uni CDMA Tools Go to NAM1 and NAM2 Settings Align with Standard Parameted which can seen in Nokia Diego in Nokia Handset Set all Parameter like Nokia Then Restart Phone Call to *228 and Run the HCC This might Run your Phone in Reliance Network Hetal Patel
  5. Definately with no Doubt CDMA will always have an upper Edge over GSM as CDMA is Developed by a Company (Qualcomm) and only have right so they have Full Liberty over the Technology Implementation as GSM is Co-Developed by GSM Association (Major are Europian Mobile Provider like Nokia, Ericsonn, Siemens, Motorola, Huawei, ZTE) so its takes time to Approve any new Technology and Finally Implements it in Live System. Plus it have to Sort out All Compatibility Issue Amongt the Users. But as GSM is Trully Tested with all Compatibility of every Suppier Distributing Handset in GSM is Very Easy. And Also GSM is Open Standard as Compare to CDMA so Users can get the Handset of His Choice. and When GSM to WCDMA will eveolve and then HSDPA, HSUPA, HSDP it will be atpar with CDMA in every Manner Now we know CDMA is better Technology but Reliance not giving any handset which can use full data Feature of Network like Wap Browsing, IM like Yahoo or Messenger so being better Technology don't serve us better as Handsets are not available, I will alsway Prefer 3GSM(WCDMA) over EVDO of CDMA Hetal Patel
  6. EVDO (Evolution Data Only) means all Frequency is used as IP Based Data Packet and Voice is Carried over Data Packat with Pripority Tags attached Suppose Reliance is Allocated 5 Mhz Band it is devided in 4 slot card each of 1.25 Mhz CDMA Card, when EVDO will come they will Unplug 1.25 CDMA 1x Card it Push an EVDO Card in same 1.25 Mhz Slot means that Tower is EVDO ready, How easy na. CDMA Technology is built in a manner that can be upgraded so fast. in case of GSM it Support 850,900,1800,1900 Mhz Band and 3GSM (WCDMA,UMTS) works in 1900 and 2100 Band With Dedicated 5mhz Band Separate for 3G Services which will lead them to bleed so much capital for such Upgrade. But For Reliance and Tata it is just Unplugging 1 cdma card and pusshing EVDO Card in Slot of Tower. and in phased manner replacing major card of CDMA 1x with EVDO and placing CDMA Card in Rural of Distance area. as EVDO Rev 0 and Revision 1 works in 1.25 Mhz Slot only. Now the Question is why Reliance and Tata is waiting for.? Ans 1. In India 3G policy is still awaiting Ans 2. EVDO Revision 0 is Absoulute and EVDO Rev. 1 is at end of Expiry in Koria and Japan of KDDE network. Revision 2 or Reveion B is Comming which will support Download of 10 mbps and Upload upto 2.2 mbps, so Reliance / Tata might buy Old EVDO Rev - 1 Equipment from existing CDMA Operator who wanna swith to Rev-B now comming to the Data Rate in Rev 0,1 Data rates for Download is 2.2 Mbps Theoritically and practically 1 mbps download and 144 kb upload, now Question Tower already have Backend link of 1 or 2 mbps then how can they feed used with 1 mbps Now 1 mbps/144 kbps (Rev0/Rev1) is given on 1.25 Total Band and it is being shares among 100 users but at any momemnt very few will be active to carry data operation so one can definatly have good chunk of Data Flowing to him. why Rev0 Rev1 is absoluting is Ans - Rev0 and 1 is Devided in Manny Slot of 1.25 Mhz. so Data Bunding is not allowed above 1 mbps Limits so for no user the Bandwidth will shoot to rate above 1 mbps but if they Develop card for 5 mhz Band the Datarate can shoot to 10 mbps with software upgrade, but again this 10 mbps will be shared with 500 users rather than 100 user in rev0 and Revision 1 type. But any Point of time chances of pusshing bandwidth for single user can go upto 10 mbps download. so user dont have to wait so much then again this band with will go to another shared userd in Times based manner or as per Priority Requirement. EVDO is TDMA Technology so CDMA 1x people are moving to TDMA (Time Devision multiple Access) now GSM (a TDMA Technology is going for WCDMA Wideband CDMA) Here is the Growth Path GSM(10k/10k) - GPRS(44k/10K) - EDGE(250k/44K) - WCDMA/UMTS(386K/44K) - HSDPA(1mb/144k) - HSUPA(8mb,2mb) and CDMA is CDMA 1x(144k/40k) - EVDO Rev-0(1mb/144k) - EVDO Rev-1(1.5mb/250k) - EVDO Rev B(10Mb / 1 Mb) Writter is a Network Programmer

CDMA Handsets require the Handsets ESN to be Registered in Mobile Network Providers system. So only Programming the Handset to that Network is suficeint. Hetal Patel

  11. Ruim

RUIM is the CDMA SIM Card made from the same specification and Wattage the GSM Handset runs on. All RUIM data can also be read on GSM and vice versa. Qualcomm had Defined the Standards Specificatin in year 2000 for CDMA 2000 Network. But only Diferrece in RUIM is It also has CDMA Configuration on the Chip. So when in CDMA Home Network RUIM Based CDMA Phone will work. But when in Rooming to National or Internation Gateaway the Same RUIM can be used in GSM Sets for Internatonal Roaming and the Phone Book will be transfered to new device via RUIM SIM. Qualcomm has made this changes becuase of the Growing Pressure from Verizone, Spint Mobile Operator of US to Provide the Customer the Option for International Roaming and National Roaming where CDMA is not available. Now 40 % over the World Including Tata is giving us the RUIM based Handset and RUIM Cards. Reliance also can do this but They Dont have or Require the RUIM Making Unit. RUIM is Standard SmartCard to be Programmed for Reliance Network. In Telson and GTrans the RUIM is Provided by the telson and GTran Company the Reliance Just Activate the Same in it's Network. Hey Guys the some of the Nokia CDMA Handsets Like 6225, 6255, 6265 are made for Both Type of Network. But we need the Proper Firmware for that. Like Reliance Nokia 6255 had N150V0400 Firmware here 400 is the Version and N150 is Network Code. It seems Nokia had not made any Firmware update for Reliance Network for use of RUIM True they had came with RUIM Based Firmware for Tata Network. When In Future Reliance Start the RUIM based system for MASS Client Base then only thr RUIM and compatible Firmware for Reliance will become easily availale. A RUIM card (also R-UIM) or Removable Universal Identity Module (SIM/RUIM), is a removable ID chip for cellular phones made for the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network. The RUIM card holds a user’s personal information such as name and account number, cell phone number, phone book, text messages and other settings. The RUIM card provides flexibility to switch phones by simply removing the RUIM card and slipping it into another card-enabled phone. The new phone would then be able to make and receive calls on the user’s account without having to go through the carrier for activation. A user could, for example, have several phones and switch between them, borrow a friend’s phone to make a call with his RUIM card, or even switch to another carrier and keep his or her old phone. The new carrier would simply issue the customer a new RUIM card to use in his or her existing phone. The only requirements are that the phone is unlocked and compatible with the frequency band of the new carrier. Although the idea of a RUIM card might be new to people who have had cellular service with a CDMA carrier, the concept is old hat to those using Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) networks. GSM is a competing network technology, popular in Europe and most countries outside of North America with a much larger overall share of the world market. GSM phones use a Subscriber Identify Module or SIM card. SIM cards and RUIM cards will be interchangeable in phones, allowing the consumer maximum flexibility. They will also be required to meet the same standards, facilitating uniform manufacturing standards. Savvy CDMA users in the United States have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of RUIM cards, particularly since GSM has become more competitive in the American market. The SIM card used with GSM phones offers many distinct advantages to the consumer over the traditional proprietary handsets required by CDMA technology. A RUIM card would make CDMA more attractive to consumers and would also open the door to better roaming contracts between CDMA and GSM networks, allowing the best possible global coverage for all cellular customers. The RUIM card was developed by the CDMA Development Group and 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). It was approved by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and has been used in China since 2002 I had Started this Topic for Making the RUIM based Revolution and awareness in the CDMA Users Hetal Patel <TOPIC MERGED!>
  12. RUIM on Nokia Handsets

I have Nokia 6255 Handset I have Activated the Number on it. It also Has the RUIM Slot when I insert the RUIM Card of Tata Indicom the number of reliance activated on hadsets only work. when go to Programming menu by press the *3001#12345# keys It show the Version is v N150V0400.nep But some of My International collegue had told for nother firmware v N100V1700.nep v N100V2600.nep But the Interneation Firmware has nother Network Code N100 rather than Reliance N150 so a lot of consuion is made. I actively flash my own mobile with cables I had successfuly flashed Motorola and Siemens Handset In Siemens the Flash Software is free available by siemens in Motorola go MotoModders.net but When I try to locate the Flash for Nokia 6255 i have no luck to find any firmware. The Local Nasik Gui only has the same firmware which is the Original but he don't have the Update Firmawre N150V0400 Has Problem in MMS Sending and Receiving, No Web Browser, and Problem in Detecting the MMC Card Camera, Phone Book Buletooth , Infrared Works Great, this Seris 40 so don't support Symbian but Java MIDP 2 is supported nicely, Nokia 6.2 in (Reliance Website)and Nokia 6.7 Suite Works greate with this Phone Also has Group Messging for Group not larger than 10, I had Installed 512 Mb MMC but there is problem in some time detecting it. Nokia Web site has 4 User Guide One for Reliance, One for tata, One for Asia Pacific and One for Some Indomesian Providers. In Reliance and Indonatian User Guide it is Written than RUIM is not Active But In Tata and Asia Pacific User Guide All Details of RUIM is Written so Only a Active Reliance RUIM with the Proper Firmware is Needed to o that job.
