This Model Number is = LG RD2670.

A good basic phone.

From this phone, send SMS as ODR<SPACE><RSN NUMBER> to 53733

(You can find the RSN Number in the back side of instrument under Battery)

You will get reply message within 3 minits.

If you get ERROR message of No records found, you can surely reactivate

by putting New GSK.

If you get any MDN Number, not possible

(even in this case also, if you spent Rs.25 for HCC and Rs.100 for an empty sim

then also possible to reactivate by first transfer that number to empty sim by using HCC)

^ pls. use any other (active) R-CDMA number to send the message ODR<SPACE><RSN NUMBER> to 53733 or GETSTAT<SPACE><RSN NUMBER> to 53733 to know the status of this handset..

@sumru

Instead of shooting in the dark like this, the easiest option for you will be to walk into the nearest Reliance Webworld alongwith Identity and Address proof documents required for a new connection and ask them to activate a new number for you.

If the handset is not usable, you will come to know from them, otherwise job done.

Also ask your friend what was the reason the number was deactivated. Was it because of some payment default or he instructed for deactivation himself? If he himself deactivated ask him whether he followed the handset change method by using HCC and *228. If yes, this handset will be ready for activation on a new number.
