Recommended Posts

Hi,

Any one have any idea about recording a conversation? It may be in phone or in computer or in any other recording media like tape etc.

The headset can help to do so?

Make a cable which connects from your headset jack to some tape recorder

or anything like that... And record it from there..

I never tried this..

Techie Guys, Will this work :)

well, ashok as you say, it most probably will work.

you'll have to make a connector with one end which can plug in into the phone's headset jack and the other end can go into the sound card's mic/line in jack and you are ready to record!!

i cant really say how you can handle the call cauz i've never used a headset.

The part i was confused about was

whether the sound would be clear enough if we connect a pin from headset jack

to tape recorder.. or does it need any kinda amplifier or something like that?

I dont have much info on the amplifying stuffs and sounds.. tats y :)

well, it wouldnt need any amplification if connected into the mic in... but maybe it would if connected into the line in...

Hi guys,

In principle, it should work, as explained by staticelectricity.

there are 3 wires in the handsfree cable, one is common ground, 1 for mic and 1 for earpiece. earpiece signal should go to line-in and mic signal to be connected to mic-in of taperecorder (or ampli).

If we want to listen to the conversation over a speaker, it defintely has to be amplified. The pre-amp built inside the phone does not have enough power to drive any external speaker (or even other headphone). It should also not be tried to directly drive a speaker, as it might cause irreversible damage to the phone.

I think its too much of details for now...ask any audio related questions, and I'll try to answer them,

bye
