  1. They have converted to unified license by paying extra Only the network infrastructure is being shared... everything else is on their own. Bharti and RIL also has telecom infrastructure sharing agreements in place; doesn't mean they will not be competitors as its only the infrastructure that is being shared.
  2. ^^ Yes, its the useless app-to-app calling: http://gadgets.ndtv.com/telecom/news/rcom-unveils-call-drops-se-chhutkara-offer-for-app-to-app-voice-calls-1452326
  3. ^^ They have to... something big is going to be announced tomorrow by RCOM...maybe VoLTE or maybe Aircel merger
  4. ^^ must be band 40 at that particular place? (you can check that in the intranet web portal)
  5. ^^ JioFi2 has pretty much the same speed that you can get through a handset with Jio SIM
  6. Jio Mobile

Moved, thanks. Please use the "Report" button in future.
  7. Lets Ask Arun

It already does that. See previous post on how to set that. You can also create a custom stream page for a more customizable activity page for quick access: My Activity Streams > Create New Stream Corrected, thanks
  8. iPhone - Buy Indian or imported?

All iPhone 6 from US doesn't have band 40... the ones from T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon doesn't have band 40: iPhone 6 Model A1549 (GSM) Model A1549 (CDMA) iPhone 6 Plus Model A1522 (GSM) Model A1522 (CDMA) ...and the 3 LTE bands of India are 3, 5 and 40

  11. ^^^ I will try the WiFi extender setup in detail tomorrow and let you know
  12. I have tried connecting to Netgear extender now and I was able to connect. Forgot to add information about the battery capacity. It is made to last for 6 hours. While I haven't tried for 6 hours straight, it does looks like the battery life is good indeed. I have just checked signal strength and I was surprised to see that the range was good. It was on par with my cable modem router. The signal was much better than I thought for a WiFi hotspot - this is definitely a plus point over using a phone hotspot. The Preview SIM was working in other handsets when I tried on iPhone and Google Nexus 5 JioJoin can be installed in your phone. Configure using the MiFi device SIM number after connecting to the MiFI. You will be able to make voice calls and send/receive SMS using the JioJoin app. Anyway the SIM itself was working for calls and SMS if you use the SIM on another handset. The plan was showing the default 2 GB plan + 100 mins calls + 100 SMS which I believe will become unlimited within 48 hours (got the SIM activated today only; I was using an unlocked SIM earlier for the tests). For practical purpose I would use a MiFi device. The LYF handsets, especially the lower end ones are really crappy. Other than that you can get better signal range with the MiFi device.
  13. It should upgrade to the latest version... that's how I upgraded to the latest version and don't have a link for the latest version. Try re-installing it and see?
  14. that's why they need to start VoLTE ASAP
  15. You have to use NetVelocity Enterprise app to see the band information
  16. ^^ On which band/frequency did you get 15 mbps? I haven't seen any solution to bind the network to a particular band though.
  17. Preview SIM purchased with LYF handset before May 16 is now working on all LTE band compatible handsets
  18. ^^ For the speed test just check using www.speedtest.net website on your PC. Do you have a 4G phone with band 5 and Reliance 4G SIM? Still not connecting to LTE here in Trivandrum.
  19. Just received a notification that my Jio number has been recharged for 30 days with the Preview offer. So the preview offer has been extended to August 31 for everyone who got the Preview SIM in April/May.
