Not yet Sent from my Sony Xperia Tab Z using Tapatalk 4
-
Already tried that way still no luck... Sent from my HTC One dual sim using Tapatalk 2 hmm,ok try this > once you remove the sim, press the power button till it shuts down automatically and then once it starts fully, insert the cdma sim.
-
anyone who faces the sms issue , just take out cdma sim and restart your handset. after it starts fully, put in your sim. sms will start coming.
-
finally updated again to 4.4.2 the fix worked as told by the SE updated to 4.22.720.7
-
update rolling out for HTC One dual sim 802d 4.22.720.7 (77.04mb) is it the sms fix ? just called Kamla Nagar guys and spoke to Surinder and Jitendra. They had no idea about the 77.04mb update (4.22.720.7). They told me to update to kitkat and incase sms problem resurfaces, they asked me to take out the reliance cdma sim, restart the phone and once it starts, insert the sim. This should fix the sms issue.
-
i got it done in 1 hour but mostly they will keep your handset for one day. with jal only having a collection center, seems your case will take a week or so,
-
Also they have offered a Exynos processor and not the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor found in the global version of the device while keeping the price at par with the international model to increase their profits. . http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Tech/Mobiles/Indian-version-of-Galaxy-S5-slower-than-global-version-Here-is-answer/articleshow/33486999.cms

issue is they themselves dont have a fix else he wud have told me to update to kitkat. no point going there and wasting time, do the earlier fix and try that the phone does not shut off once you start receiving sms. or you can ask them to change the motherboard and stick to 4.2.2 until they have a permanent fix. The only issue you may face is if they have old motherboards with 4.2.2 as the new stock is with kitkat.

Nitin Bhai.. any update .... Sent from my HTC One dual sim using Tapatalk 2 i just now called kamla nagar, and spoke to Mr Surinder, Pretty helpful guy and he handled my case earlier ( phone opening and all is done by Jatinder). Mr Surinder told me they received a new sms fix yesterday but they did not have any success with it. he asked me to call after 4/5 days. .

only reliance cdma has issues in sim 1 , tata cdma or any other gsm sim works fine. otherwise its a wonderful handset,
-
In 4.2.2 you faced no issues at all. I somehow didn't find anything v much required in kit Kat or is someone has figured something new let us know. Sent from my HTC One dual sim using Tapatalk 2 battery backup is much better in 4.2.2. main issue was sms which i never faced in jelly bean. will wait for sms fix and then only update to kitkat. i will have to live with sense 5 till then, but that is no deal breaker.
-
got back my handset, its on stock 4.2.2 now.
-
HTC guys themselves are at seas wrt this sms issue. They told me few people from mumbai have reported this issue and they took a log of my handset also with cdma sim. If they return my handset with 4.2.2 i will keep it else i will be forced to ask for refund/sell it.

really pissed with HTC and buying this handset was the worst decision of my life. i was traveling during holi and i faced the post kitkat issue of wifi not connecting, in spite of the fix posted everywhere still i cud not connect. so i decided to restart my device. This turned to be the worst decision of my life as the same old sms issue reoccurred. had to book railway tickets and do online purchases. The nightmare continued in a family function and since it was outdoors the purple haze made clicking pics a nightmare. point to note is that pre kitkat, i never had any purple haze issues nor sms issue nor wifi issues. returned to delhi yesterday and checked my mail. had a feedback email from HTC for which i gave them the worst'est possible feedback. took my device to kamla nagar and explained my issues. They asked me to wait for an hour as they agreed to change the camera there and then and also do the sms fix. In between i received a call from HTC Mumbai inquiring why i gave them such a horrid feedback. I gave him my piece of my mind and he spoke to the kamla nagar service guys and assured me that the issue will be resolved. As promised the camera module was changed in about 90 minutes and they tried the sms patch but this time i insisted on restarting the device to see if i receive the sms. After the restart, sms issue was back and this time the service head called chennai and explained his superiors the issue. The chennai guys asked for a log from my handset and they sent some files using ftp and blah blah. Since the service guys did not have a RIM cdma number they asked me to wait and the whole process took about an hour more as they had to install some files, upload some to HTC chennai and also make a video of the entire thing. finally became free at 6.45 ( i had reached there by 3.30). they have kept my handset with no possible fix except changing the motherboard to that of jellybean. That too they need to see if the motherboard they have in stock are of the previous android version ( 4.2.2) else i will have to live with a faulty handset till HTC India offer a permanent sms fix. god save mankind from HTC.

can anyone confirm what is the default Reliance CDMA Sms Center Number
-
yesterday i was clicking pictures in low light and the dreaded purple tint showed up. Been a while that I clicked any pics after kitkat and seems the update has messed up the camera settings as well. will have to visit kamla nagar again soon. really pissed with HTC and doubt my next would be from them.

Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II
nitink replied to rajanmehta's topic in Android
Simple mod allows you to “Close all” recent apps; works on Xperia Z series As reported by xperia blog for the Z series devices. it allows you to close all recent apps instead os swiping them one by one. The app works on the Xperia Z, Z1, Z Ultra, ZR, and ZL, but it may also work on other Xperia handsets too. The app does not require root either. To install, download the apk below and install it as you would any other third-party app. Restart your phone and once you’ve opened a few apps, you should notice the ‘Close all’ button appear. It’s as simple as that. source TaskKiller-1ClickCloseAll.apk- 1,081 replies

your call. waiting for OTA does not make sense since HTC took more than 6 months to give us kitkat from 4.2.2. also when i asked htc india about OTA, they told me not many people have complained about this issue since only a handful would be using cdma on sim 1. for me sms play an important role in banking and all. without those sms we will never know incase of any fraud happens since my cdma number is linked to my bank account/rail sms/insurance blah blah. .
-
yes i did and checked at the service center itself.
-
lol i never had sms problem ever in 4.2.2 but after updating to Kitkat the problem appeared out of nowhere. It has not come back after the sms fix.
-
last resort is to visit kamla nagar TVSE, mine was handled by a surd whose chair was 2nd from left. he himself owns a HTC One dual sim. He was very courteous and solved my problem once for all.
