the above mentioned articale about palm pre was definately written by some apple fanboy ....palm pre will definately be a success. palm pre will be launched in gsm markets in US and elsewhere in next 6mnths . there are not many flaws in the OS ... i agree there were no apps at the time when iphone was launched but today app store is biggest online store for apps /games and it has made other manufatures to have online stoeres . no u dont need to u can register an account with itunes without credit card . now even apple supports registrations with credit cards

My Phone is the latest WinMo service by Microsoft allowing users to backup their phone files and personal info online. The service was launched back in February, but it's only now that it's finally opened to everyone with Windows Mobile devices without the bugging invitation procedure - all you need to access it is a Windows Live account. My Phone can perform daily backup of all data on your WinMo device - from the contacts to the multimedia content. There is a limit of course and it's 200MB of storage, which we can say is pretty enough for the critical info. The backup content can be accessed later online or can be used to restore your data to a new device if, for instance, you misplace yours. In the future, the service will even allow you to change your wallpaper, ringtone and some more basic settings directly through the web interface eliminating the need to dig in the phone's settings. ^^^ yes this is the last oppurtunty that palm has to make for loses... but i wont be goin for cdma version of palm pre ....simply coz we never know when it will be cracked or when will data work on it properly on non sprint networks ... i will rather go for gsm variant of this phone .

u will need to connect your phone to qpst and change spc to 000000 and also change banner name to reliance .

palm pre will be available without contract for 550$ before taxes . also 3500 rs will be if u purchase it from US...over here as and when it will be available it will be even costlier than 3500.

the touchstone charger will be available for 50$.and back cover for 20$ total 70$.

these things can be backed up with any good backing up s/w ... for me what matters most is backing up contacts and images as i loose them often

if it doesnt work on other platforms u cant say its a con . this service is by microsoft and is meant for windows platform only . for symbian and other platforms there are online services like ovi available . BTW though syncing is easier with palm but its good to have cloud computing its always safest option to backup ur phone data online ....its secures ur data in case u loose ur phone ..loose backup files on desktop ..if something goes wrong with sync .( even at times syncing thru palm can go wrong and u can loose all ur data, it has happened with me and with other members as well ) i always prefer online backing up on all my phones .

all these handsets are s40 u wont get s60 a such cheap price point ....s60 is nokia's prime OS

the gsm part of it can be used after getting an unlock code ... as far as cdma is concerned its a meid based phone... there is no proper solution as of yet for reliance ... may be can work with tata as u can get spc of this phone ...but *228 wont work. so best bet as of now is to use this phone for gsm

8830 are unlocked by sprint data and voice both . so they can be run on gsm networks here along with bis from them .

my sugestion would be bb 8130 if u dont need data ...and offcourse if u sacrifice fm

@dkalie and others getting a tata connection on nam 2 is simpler .... u just have to give tata your esn and ask them to register it ... what i think is that u dont even need two esn's u can give tata the same esn that u have with reliance ...since reliance and tata dont have centralised database so i dont think it will matter to tata if u give them esn u using with reliance ... so there is no need to have two esn's or changing esns everytime in cdma wrkshop once u get ur esn registered u just have to update your new msid on nam 2 and dial *228 to get other nam parameters for tata ... now its even more simpler there is a registery setting after modifying the registery u get an option to swith nam u have to go to your phone dilaer /options /services /switch nam also in qpst u have to disable auto nam ..thats all

@gadetgirl both the handsets mogul as well as 8830 as gr8 with mogul u will get features like 2mp cam ( quality is ****), wifi which u wont get in 8830 but if u have gsm connection as ur primary connection then definately go with 8830 . u can get 299 rs blackerry services plan with unlimited mails and messenger which u can use on your 8830 sadly u wont be able to use bis on 8830 thru reliance or tata . browsing on 8830 isnt that good experience as compared to mogul on mogul browsing is good also u have email capabilities which is slighly inferior to that of blackberry but still it will take care of ur emailing needs very well.... so my suggestion for u is that if u have cdma as ur primary connection and u need data then go with mogul ....if data is not ur need then go with pearl if u have sm connection or u planning to get one then definately go with 8830

^^^ u get rid of box driver not found ..u need to use pkey .. put pkey in same directory as jaf... but all is well that ends well though 6265 is not a bb5 phone but luckily it worked for u .... hope ur problem is solved now

i have had a very bad experience with 2112 ...it is known to have network issues

^^^ phoenix can flash any nokia phones ...but i think it will need special hardware for cdma u can try jaf tool jaf tool also requires utf box for flashing ... but i have used jaf to flash gsm phones over usb and it has worked without utf box . u can give it a try with 6265 if it works over usb .. if it doesnt then take it to nokia care/ local shop where they have utf box to flash it or else last option send it to me i will look into it .. i m attaching a tutorial of how to flash cdma phones with jaftool also u will get 6265 firmware .nfp from here http://rapidshare.com/files/227756794/7145...5B1_5D.NFPa.exe this is full version of jaf tool with pkey http://rapidshare.com/files/186146404/JAF.1.98.62.rar try it or else take it to some place where they have all these equipments ( utf/tornado box or fbus) to do a flash VIDEO_MANUAL_HOW_TO_FLASH_CDMA_WITH_JAF.rar
