In my case, the seller was alreade under my suspicion because the tracking no he had provided wasn't trackable. He had shipped on 6th december and the pacage was delivered on 14th january according to PPOBox. Even if the seller had shipped the phone, he should have used a service which had tracking and insurance which he didn't do. High value phones are likely to be absorbed by PPOBOX. There are many non RIMweb members who have been caught under the net of ppobox. They have a sound knowledge of hoodwinking the law and are experts in gaining legal loopholes. I still have 17 Stellars in their NY hub, so virtually unable to take a legal action for the $220 Note2. All they are saying is 'Sir, ab aap yeh package bhool jaao ' Sanjay Gandhi is bent on saying the same thing giving a lame excuse of Rs 16000 more to pay for the release. Sir i am on 4.3 can u let me know how to switch to NV mode instead on NV,RUIM R530's MEID needs to be registered, but not programmed. Before programming it on Reliance, open DFS and goto NV tab and download R530U.nvf file from DFS server, re flash factory NV items, then program it on Reliance. NAM may not stick easily, may require quite an attempts. For RUIM to NV mode change use any CDMA pc software, spc=000000 and use 16 digit password of R970. Setting this phone on Reliance is little tricky (like Axiom) so as always, its our own responsibility to achieve success.

For who have accidently tried to downgrade from 4.3 on USC R530 to 4.1.2/4.1.1, it will show error in Odin mode screen and when the phone starts, it will get stuck on "firmware upgrade encountered an error", so in this case just flash CF-autoroot.tar via odin again and phone will be back to normal. For those who have tried to downgrade modem say LG1 or LK then phone will boot normally but radio partiton will not work (baseband unknown) so in this re-flash MJA modem.tar and do RTN reset. Data will not work in either cases but phone will work as usual again. If you still want data, switch it over to NV mode and data just works on 4.3 !!

Finally decided to get the confiscated packages from Mumbai customs at any cost, just to see where it takes us. Ppobox has withdrawn completely and whatever payment has to be made has to be given to agent Sanjay. He has assured of releasing them by early next week. Sanjay added that even if I do not claim my present packages, they do not relate to future incoming packages from NY. And that this was a matter of sheer bad luck. Hope to see normalcy next week. So, nothing can be done here? We all know that duty should be 7% or is it based on custom officer? Aren't there any guidelines that can be referred to build a case here? This can happen to any of us and after this PPObox problem this really makes us scared. Is there any applet authority or governing forum where we can compliant/ raise case/seek help regarding such incidents?? 30 used mobile phones detained in the last lot in Mumbai customs, only those which are named "used" in the description are switched to CHA mode. It means PPO does not have authority to apply for customs clearance for these 30 phones. ICCworld does not have a CHA agent in house and needs to negotiate for these 30 phones. They have done meeting with an agent who first agreed to do the job at a reasonable rate but later by the day, he retracted his offer and ultimately gave high quotes for them. We are left with the option to hire an agent on our own to procure the relevant documents from ICCworld and submit them to the customs or go with whatever Sanjay Gandhi says. As of now nothing can be done except stating as "Brand New" for used phones and never write "bad esn" again.

We normally present invoice just after purchase for each item even before this recent necessity of documentation. Strange thing is there is no official circular from customs department of the rules getting stringent, called up several custom clearance agents in Andheri and customs department but they have not received or issued any notice for declaration or valuation. I and my associates have provided paypal and bank statement for all purchases but still are charged as per market value of brand new phones. Those will be shipped with a delay. Local atmospheric conditions and transit times will add some more delay. Many guys still have them in NY, they will be shipped only once customs goods are released.

Stay on 4.1.1 LK3 and data will work on CDMA/EvDo on OMH without any setting. GSM band is also available in this version. However you need push apns-conf.xml into etc folder after being rooted for GSM/UMTS data.

Dear brother, I have done innumerable data programming on large number of Verizon S3 i535 handsets, in the last few months with various types of experiments but LK3 build supports data very well on normal OMH SIM. It's not one or few Verizon S3 phones that were tried upon, rather a large number. CDMA programming is a playground of tweaking and experiments, you can try the modded SIM.

If this thread is not restricted to discussions on Motorola handsets, then I can confirm that Verizon S3 i535 works perfectly on GSM SIM and Reliance OMH and Tata RUIM. For using GSM data, it has to be rooted and simply place apns-conf.xml in system. Reliance and Tata OMH work very well on LK3 build, I cannot vouch for other software versions though. Verizon S3 is a complete global phone on LK3 (4.1.1) with no settings or hidden menu involved sooner or later.

Packages arrived on and after 23rd are still pending customs clearance. It seems the customs department is again getting tough with PPObox. More paperwork and proofs will only gather more time in dispatch from their Mumbai hub. Hope its not again like July-August.

i am new here, i just want to know after instaling MB1 its work mobile data with reliance omh sim? Data works properly on rooted or stock MB1. MB1 is more or less stable for data connectivity.

Indeed some problem at their NY hub, packages delivered are not getting email confirmations. I think some more guys are also having the same issue. Parcels are getting piled up but no indication of shipping to India.

Verizon Pantech Breakout is an unlocked CDMA OMH SIM handset where all SIM cards support calls and sms. There is no hidden settings involved in achieving calling and messaging. However it does not support data on RUIM of Reliance but with some minor tweaking, Tata Indicom SIM supports 3G/EVDO internet. Steps:- 1. After successful root, download and install root explorer 2.16 or older 3. Replace my attached build.prop in system folder and apns-conf.xml in system/etc folder, set all permissions and reboot. 4. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and select CDMA only Note:- Data on this device only works in evdo areas. there is no 1x support available on this phone. data icon will remain 1x in evdo areas and no data will work in 1x areas. Evdo speed is recorded on this 1x icon. After putting this settings, there will never be any need to change/modify any setting even after changing to any number of SIM cards. After entering NV command via adb your phone should boot upto Samsung logo but no further if it goes beyond and settles the OS that means it requires few more tries. adb reboot nvrestore can also be given while on MD4, MB1, LH2 and LG1. Safest downgrade is LG1 because hidden menu works on it. After OS boots completely, dial *#22745927 and enable hidden menu, back, dial ##3282#, edit, ->others->HDR/1X selection, select none other than LTE+EVDO+CDMA, back in others click Korea mode and select India mode. Reboot. After data starts, root it so OTAs will be blocked for installation. Rest do not give a silent update to 4.3 MK2 firmware OTA or data will stop immediately and Knox security will prevent downgrade to lower builds. One can remove knox and downgrade again to any firmware levels but that method is still not well established. Sent from Sprint L720

^^ Successfully installed 4.3 MK3 on Sprint S3 3-4 days back. Be sure to flash Knox apps remover after flashing the rooted stock 4.3 ROM. Its pleasant, touch has improved, display is more vivid, battery consumption could be more I feel. Still missed is the white interface as received by other S3 variants. There is another MK3 custom rom available where secphone, seccontacts, secmms and secsettings are extracted from S4. Ask me if anyone wants to modify into white dialer and white sms app while on MD4.
