  1. Bro, for the price [Rs3500] it's bang for the bucks. The cheapest Jio LYF phone with 1GB RAM. I have seen it in showroom. Good for the price. Go for it, if you just want to use for 3 months free data and sell or give away the phone to somebody after that. The other phones in 3000Rs price has just 512MB RAM, whereas jio bloat itself needs 600MB RAM. But if you are ready to pay more for bigger battery, go for wind 4, closing your eyes. It's the LYF phone with biggest 4000mAh battery. I have used it personally and is the best vfm [in LYF phone terms] handset to enjoy jio preview offer. It has 5" HD display, looks good [especially the brown one], slim and performs good if you disabled the Jio bloat. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  2. Get some contact with employee. But after Jio preview offer launch, chances are slim. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  3. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Haha. But no such decent 10-20GB plan exists in reality, may or may not happen even after jio launch. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  4. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Like I said, I have just done 5 top-ups in 6 months time for the employee sim.. Initially I got astonished on seeing the 60+ Mbps speed (when the whole towers in my city is exclusive for me) and was downloading like crazy for the first few days. Later the craze was over and started using it sensibly, except once when I left the SIM and MiFi in my home during roaming, my wife completed 70+ GB within a week or 10 days.. HotStar, Youtube, serials, Live TV and what not, even though the speed is just 25% of initial days.. I just wonder how the people will feel, when they stop getting free unlimited data?
  5. EDIT: Double Post by mistake...
  6. Better option is Flame2 for Rs3499 with 1GB RAM, than other Rs3000 phones with just 512MB RAM, imho...
  7. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Yes.. As usual confusing announcement by RCom.. I got the info from RCom website only (in pdf format)... {One small correction in your post though -- 6th July 2016 and NOT 16July2016} EDIT:- HERE is the announcement in ENGLISH..
  8. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Below is the Important notice to TN RCdma users.. Looks like CDMA to 4G conversion stars from today to August 16. They are saying to try to get UPC code before Aug16 to opt for MNP as well..
  9. JIO SIM without LYF handset

No limit afaik. I have used topup upto 5 times till now (6 months period) in that employee sim.. But don't complete it in same day as warned by my friend, as your limit is 10GB...
  10. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Ask them to do top-up for free, once you complete the 10GB data and you will again get 500 mins / sms and 10GB data. Employee sim limit is 75GB, 4500 minutes, 9000 (not sure) sms.
  11. JIO SIM without LYF handset

NOT true, afaik.. I have checked the specifications in the web-interface after login in.. Guru Gopal ji also confirmed the same to me.. Reason I have heard is that, band 5 will be already shared by both Reliance co's and Jio's VoLTE coverage and quality is heavily dependent on that band. If heavy data users are allowed to use that band, then it may affect the VoLTE quality. Further due to vast reach, number of users connected to that band will be more and as a result less speed.. Further old MiFi's came network unlocked for easy testing + comparison (of competitor's 4G) purposes for its employees. May be TT author got that old Jio MiFi, but not sure..
  12. If you look closely, TATA has very very little EVDO presence in circles where they don't have 3G license, eg: TN. Comparatively in MP-CG circle, Tata has 3G license and it also has EVDO in almost all cities where it has launched 3G.. This is the main difference between Tata and RCom. RCom concentrates EVDO in circles where they have NO 3G license (again TN -- where RCom had EVDO in almost all towns too). Similarly in MP+CG circle, RCom has 3G license and NEVER cares about EVDO there, NOT even in major district capitals..
  13. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Like @balac_m said, try from desktop browser.. I tried again and its working... Thanks for finding the solution... I think its better to avoid Jio MiFi.. Jio MiFi can be used with employee and retailer RJio sims only. Jio Preview offer sims will NOT work with Jio MiFi. The reasons why I am NOT recommending it is as follows:- [1] It doesn't supports band 5 {850MHz} 4G. Just Band 3 and band 40 support ONLY. [2] Its LOCKED to be used in RJio networks only. [3] It gives much lesser speed than say WiFi tethering by any LYF phone and I don't know why. If in a particular area, LYF phone gives 30+ Mbps speed, you will get just about 18Mbps speed in Jio MiFi (even if only one device is connected) [4] Since its NOT available easily, you may need to spend more money than its worth. Without band 5 support, it is better to use UnLocked Airtel 4G MiFi device sold in e-Bay, at cheaper price than jio MiFi devices. The only good thing about Jio MiFi is the excellent battery life for its compact size..
  14. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

So the drama has started in Karnataka as well...
  15. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Parse error? Looks like some in-complete or interrupted download.. Just re-download it bro.. It can be installed in any Android phone using any network, not just LYF or RJio service.. @sunilromy In the opening screen, press the "+" button located down below in a blue coloured circle. A small menu will pop-up. The first one in the list will be "RF Information", which on clicking shows the band which the phone is connected to..
  16. JIO SIM without LYF handset

No sir.. just checked by downloading from the link and installed it in another phone.. Its working great... Have you enabled "Install from Unknown source" in settings???
  17. JIO SIM without LYF handset

  20. Handset suggestion 5 inch or below

Since redmi note 3, mi Max and mi5 all support volte as well as band 1,3,5,40, there is no reason for redmi3s to not support them, IMHO. Only issue is, we don't know when it's coming to India. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  21. Handset suggestion 5 inch or below

NOPE... Apart from lesser RAM, LG-K332 has cr@ppy FWVGA display, smallish 2125mAh battery, 8GB storage -- out of which ONLY 3.4GB is available to user.. If RAM can be compromised, better go for LYF Wind 4... The RAM is non-issue if you disable all the JIO Bloat...
  22. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

  23. The CDMA service providers in India are Bsnl, Tata, Mtnl, MTS, Videocon and Rcom. Out of them Bsnl, MTS and Videocon doesn't serve in Mumbai circle. So you are then left only with Tata, Mtnl and Rcom. Mtnl gave back their spectrum to govt. So you are then left with Tata, and Rcom. Rcom liberated Mumbai CDMA spectrum to start 4G services. So the only option left is Tata. Tata also asked for liberalisation of CDMA spectrum in Mumbai circle. So it's about to close CDMA service in Mumbai within this year. So for Mumbai circle, it's not advisable to invest in CDMA devices and not worth the risk of trying CDMA hacks, IMHO. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk

Lenovo Vibe P1m if volte is not a must. Upcoming Redmi3 has all the things you have asked, but not sure when it's coming... sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
