  1. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

NO... NOT like that.. Basic data tariff without any pack is 50p/MB.. This seems reasonable (without STV or pack).. In case of BSNL/MTNL it is 1p/10KB, which works out to Rs1/MB, but with 10KB pulse.. In case of COSTLY DOCOMO, it is 1p/1KB == Rs10/MB (May be they have used golden towers for their 3G services), but with 1KB pulse..
  2. Don't you think what you are asking for is WAY TOO MUCH??? OK.. I agree, that there is nothing wrong in dreaming...
  3. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

Tariff atleast seems better than that of Docomo's 3G services... I hope Airtel and Vodafone will have to try very hard to get the money poured into Metros for 3G, because of RCom and MTNL's tariffs...
  4. Huawei Launches Android Smartphone Ideos In India

I guess they wanted to sell for Rs5.5k initially and later on predicting the expectations/demand it may get later, they decided to increase the price.. Further the rebranded ZTE penguin with Android2.1 and resistive touch is selling > 6K may also be the reason for them to increase the price... But if they released it @6k mark, then it will sell like hotcakes (and force micromax and others to sell theirs at 5K level) and will bring Android to masses too... But quite unlikely now.. As Raccoon bhai suggested, Anroid + DualSIM will also be a killer combo, especially if one SIM allows 3G for the 8k price tag..
  5. Major Android Market Update To Improve Experience (Update)

Will it work for Eclair powered EPIC 4G???? I have seen few apps saying will run on Froyo only like Skype, etc...
  6. TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali

May be they are bored with opening their FIRST 3G shops, waiting so long for customers Good to see that they are feeling the heat and I am sure they will revise the tariffs to reasonable level (and NOT at all cheap) again when others start 3G services..
  7. Rs24 STV valid for 7 DAYS only??? Are they gone mad??
  8. Any reviews for BSNL 3G Data Card?

I have heard that Rs4200 data booster (6 months UNLIMITED WITHOUT FUP) is going to be stopped after December.. Later in Jan, after pvt operators started 3G in full swing with SUPER-HIGH 3G DATA Tariffs, BSNL may also hike or introduce FUP in unlimited plans.. So friends, it is better to make use of this opportunity, imho..
  9. I may not switch my main number now... But will switch all the years old numbers which are lying idle ie) Airtel, Vodafone, RGsm(2) numbers to Docomo, just to experiment the process of MNP
  10. Wow 5.75Mbps download speed.. But 0.15Mbps (153.6kbps) upload speed seems little.. Let us hope good ul and dl speeds after they launch services and of course good data tariffs too...
  11. Wanna Remove Sprint Apps On Your Android?

Thanks Malik, now my EPIC is clean without any unwanted sprint apps... +1 for you..
  12. 20p/min is IUC for STD calls only and for local calls it is 15p/min, from Apr2010 onwards, but not sure about date... Earlier it was 20p/min for Locals and 30p/min for STD calls...
  13. Now BSNL is trying hard to arrest surrender of Landlines... Good, but a very VERY VERY LATE move.. 1) They should have launched Prepaid type schemes earlier for subscribers coming for surrender and transferring the deposit amount as prepaid balance. 2) They should have introduced Pay Per Second scheme to their LL.. (The current STD_LL @ Rs1/3min is PayPerCall) 3) They should have some retention plans like private players. 4) They should allow LL numbers to be included in FREE CUG of corporate-mobile-connections. The above suggestions may be like asking way tooo much from a PSU, but it is a bare minimum req for private players. BTW friends, I doubt whether pvt LL service providers like Airtel, Tata, RCom will provide this facility or NOT after seeing this scheme of BSNL...
  14. BSNL should have launched so many such schemes when the surrender of LL phones are heavy.. Atleast that KumbhaKarna seems woke up now... I am waiting for BSNL LL to be included in FREE CUG with cellone postpaid connections.. Another good scheme to avoid surrenders is PPS scheme, 1p/sec Local/STD, but I am NOT sure BSNL will implement this or NOT..
  15. Since Photon+ service is NOT available in Raipur, I want to use BSNL's USB EVDO card in Nagpur(GandhiBagh-Agrasen Chowk) and Raipur(Jai-Stambh Chowk).. But I want to confirm whether EVDO coverage is available in Raipur and Nagpur or not Friends, anybody who know details or in these cities please help me... Further in BSNL's web-site, I can't find any EVDO coverage map (as in RCom web-site) nor the list of cities covered -- OR -- am I missing something?? Thanks a lot...
  16. Wow... So friends, get any fancy number for cheap from any operator for now and get ready to jump to any operator of your choice with that number..
  17. On 27-11-2010 (SATURDAY) I went to BSNL exchange and I was very pleasantly surprised by the staff's activities.. They became really helpful to customers.. I got there to get a new 3G-BSNL connection, which they gave and said "NOW ONE WEEK UNLIMITED FREE 3G DATA OFFER IS THERE + 100 minutes FREE Local-Video calls and 2000 Local/STD SMS FREE".. Later seeing my E90 and myself checking about 3G speed there itself, they asked about my co and whether I need corporate connection from BSNL.. I replied that I already have 10-connections with FREE_CUG + 10-FancyNumbers on TataIndicom and I dont need one... Then they said that with MNP coming near, whether I have any idea of shifting to BSNL, as 3G is available right now.. This was VERY MUCH UN-EXPECTED BY ME FROM THEM... So to avoid them, I just said that I already have 4 BSNL-Landlines, which is now used for just incoming purposes and IF THEY ARE READY TO ALSO INCLUDE LAND-LINE NUMBERS ALSO WITH NEW FREE CUG <<FREE calls from mobiles to LL and ALSO FROM LL TO MOBILES>>, I AM READY FOR A CHANGE.. For this they came near me and told in a lite tone that "Sir, we are getting so many such requests from our customers and have already sent the same to our higher officials, few months back and expect this change in near future.. So please give us your number, we will contact you, when that scheme comes into effect"... Man, I was about to faint.. First due to the staffs kind words.. Next, just think about the offer "INCLUSION OF LL IN CUG <<NOT ALLOWED EARLIER>>".. This will definitely bring positive changes for BSNL after MNP... Almost all big offices have BSNL LL, even if they have corporate connections on other cell-operators say Airtel, RCom.. But this offer will definitely tempt many of them to shift to BSNL.. Most of those cos, will have EPABX system, cordless LL_phones also.. Guess the possibilities and advantages.. 1. For LONG CUG conversations, we need NOT touch mobiles and save battery. 2. Boss need to buy mobile connections only for sales people and NOT for full-time office staffs.. 3. FREE Call hunting, instead of auto-redial <<again save battery + TIME>> 4. FREE_CUG phone in almost all rooms in a factory, incl car-shed, security room <<EPABX>>. 5. Staffs cant lie easily <<Like driver saying I am in shed>> 6. FREE CALL_Forward to office number, when NOT reachable. 7. FREE UnLimited calls from Home LL to Office LL and vice-versa.. 8. FREE Unlimited calls between LLs from one factory to that of another in same SDCA/Circle.. 9. Very useful, in some part of factory where indoor-coverage is NOT good. 10. Useful for factories in remote/rural areas (where no/weak mobile coverage) to get connected with city office/BOSS for FREE. Friends, I guess I have missed out many advantages.. By implementing this method, BSNL can control surrender of LL from SOHO users too.. All thanks to MNP.. Hope to see more best offers like this from BSNL..
  18. Rajan bhai.. +1 for you.. Many points are helpful, especially the "OUTSTANDING DUES" part.. I still have one doubt, reg above point.. you said that "WAITING OF 90 DAYS is a must, if you have ported your number earlier".. Then what about new porting requests of NEW CONNECTIONS.. Say, I got a very good new FANCY number from Airtel yesterday and I just want to jump to BSNL today... Whether it is allowed??? Or I have to wait for 3 months anyway??? Please clarify this...
  19. The Most Awaited MNP Finally Introduced!

But Kumar sir, TN and Chennai was made single circle long ago and I have seen posts of Kesav in old MNP thread that "DoT has got back the extra LRN (or whatever) number from BSNL and TataIndicom, so that Chennai and RoTN users will have same LRN number".. If that is the case, MNP launching date for both Chennai and RoTN should be same, right??? Or I am missing something???
  20. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

But Dr, where is C2?? It is not yet available and priority guys have NO IDEA of its arrival also... Nokia-India has gone MAD... Too little and that too TOO LATE>>>>
  21. The thread was started on Aug2009 and now it is NOV2010... So NO HOPE, imho...
  22. The Most Awaited MNP Finally Introduced!

Then what will the lazy and useless loop will do??? Just allow its customers to move to other operators using MNP???
