In my case they registered MEID(ESN) thrice on request ,after my 8330 could not be programmed(I am a corporate customer so they agreed to register the ESN as i told them it was a chinese clone BB and not original BB as i didnt want the BIS/BEs service).That didnt work SO i took help from Hitesh .After his help using postpaid SIM ,BB got activated but It only worked for about 6-7 hours and got deactivated at midnight).Then I bought one post paid SIM for activating my old chinese set (which has no battery life and non working mic) .They kept ota activation for that SIM so it could not be activated even after regestering ESN,then they made me buy another Post paid SIM which they could activate somehow. SO Now I have 3 ESN's registered but not working and a BB 8330 which i use as a paperweight ,I think the real issue is technical competency of tata personnel in activation .

Same here,will shift to DOCOMO.It has the lousiest service in this part of the country but at least I will be be using a respectable handset. Such monopolistic policies wont help TATA in the long run as they are still not bothered with fair play and customer orientation. Reliance was like this in the early days (when outgoing was Rs 15 and incoming Rs 8)Look how quickly they changed to survive.

Did everything possible for tata indicom Postpaid activation on phone. After some efforts Phone got activated for few hours then services stopped. SO i guess Tata Indicom activation is difficult.If anyone succeeds please let me know the method. I was helped in my efforts by Hitesh.rimweb who is really a gem of a person as are other senior members in this forum.

Will suggest not to go for wildfire/tatoo or legend as I have a HTC legend personally with Andy 2.1 (Eclair).No complains ,extremely happy but the only downside with 2.1 is that compared to version 2.2(FROYO) no SD card support for loading application ,WIFi tethering or Extremely fast speed that Froyo gives over the earlier version(which is infinitely faster than windows or symbian ,dont worry) AT this point of time if you want to buy Android, buy one which will have Froyo(2.2) or a phone which HTC announced Froyo release . If you want to buy version 2.1 , disadvantages are that it only loads the application on the main ROM (Only about 192 MB) of app space. SO to load more apps you may have to root your phone(also to enable wifi tethering). HTC launched 3-4 phones in May 2010 ,Legend,desire,incredible and Wildfire.Out of these it only made upgrade to version 2.2 for incredible and desire.not for legend or wildfire. SO Android is absolutely amazing but the lack of app space will start pinching you soon, so buy any phone with Android froyo only.

LG Optimus is fully loaded at the lowest price (less than 11 K) ( 5 Mp cam,flash,GPS and everything else) with Android 2.1, but a bit slow compared to my legend.

I have procured a BB8330 from Sadik, In the operator screen it shows an operator called FAST 100 and My number -5129*****8, same is reflected in Mobile Directory number and IMSI_S number. Tata Indicom people told me that they can register ESN if the phone is unlocked ,not locked to any network or if unlock code is available.is the unlock code for BB8330 the SPC code or something else? I have Loaded tata prl etc successfully but network operator does not change ,Shows FAST 100 only.However in the SPC details all information like county code,network code etc are programmed for Tata Indicom only. Please help me!

Dear Hitesh Bhai, I have given MEID yesterday to Tata Indicom help desk.Today i received a mail that their ESN is not registered and they wanted fresh ESN, SO i gave the BB's ESN which they have said they will upload. Is the AKEY still required to be given after this? Incidentally I have not told them that it is a Blackberry I have told them that its a chinese mobile,as they were not willing to register blackberry and were forcing me to apply for corporate Plan for blackberry mail which I did not want. I hope I have not created confusion ,If I tell them I have AKEY will they know its a Blackberry or is AKEY for all CDMA mobiles? Also In the operator details it shows Fast 100 as operator but not Tata or anyother service provider. ALso ##SPC gives operator code/country code for TATA ,but in 'status' thes operator called FAST 100 appears only and a phone number starting with 515 appears as my number,and when i tried *228 it told me my handset was blocked, after asking language preference ,and then postpaid or prepaid plan? Does this mean im in a mess? Hope you and other Rimwebians can guide me further by providing your valuable opinion.

Dear Sumitji, I got new BB8330 from Zayed bhai ,few days back.I have tata indicom cdma SIM working on chinese handset which had stopped working due to immersion in rain.I have corporate post paid account with tata indicom, I went with my new BB and they refused to activate it .They insisted on me having to subscribe for bb paid service for 300 rs per month before they would even consider trying.SO i chose their plan and they tried activation but they got message saying ESN not registered. Now seeing this post of yours ,can i get the ESN and MIN from my presently working CDMA SIM and input that on the new BB?will this work? Zayed bhai has suggested getting ESN registered using nonOTA option and getting them to generate MIN for that but I dont think the tata indicom people will co operate. What do you and other experts here suggest?
