I went to LG ASC to upgrade my LG 6130 for first time since I had bought it a year ago because R-World was no longer working on it for last 5 months. I was surprized to see that they have started charging for service (if outside warranty) and also with no guarantee. They charge Rs. 85 for upgrade and warned me that if anything goes wrong I would have to pay Rs. 1600 as the main board would need to be changed !!! They absolutly denied to take any reponsibility if anything goes wrong while upgrading even due to their mistake. This is very BAD. Software upgrades should be free. If error on part of Reliance not adding compatibiltiy of new R-World to the all phones with original softwares. Why should user pay for it? I want to confirm that is this true for all LG centres or this service centres guys fooled me ? By the way I went to the LG service centre at Sector - 18 of NOIDA.

But I again asked LG service centre and they clearly warned me that I have to bear the charges if anything goes wrong !! I am ready to pay Rs. 80 ( ), but can't can't risk for Rs. 1600. This is ridiculous. Very bas on LG part.

But LG service centres have started charging for software updates They also warn that one have to pay Rs. 1600 - 3000 as mainboard charges, if anything goes wrong during update. This is very very bad. Software updates should be free.

Most Of The Rworld Applications Not Working In Lg 6130 ?
mywebid replied to mywebid's topic in Data services
Now none of the R-World applications work on 6130 if the software version is below 15. And the sadest thing is that LG service centre is demanding Rs. 85 to upgrade outside warrenty handset. They are also warning many times that if anything goes wrong then it would be charged Rs. 1600. Weired. -
Got reply from LG helpline, and guess what they say that its right that the service centre is charging for software upgrade. It chargeble I think I would not go for upgrade now.

Mailed to the LG mobile helpline. Let's see what reply I get.

Does upgrading the S/W version lead to loss of all Data like phonebook, ringtones etc. from the phone? Is there no way at the LG service centre to back up all the data before upgrading the S/W and then upload the data again? My 6130 is not able to open R World for 4 months now Software upgrade seems to be the only solution now. But I have loads of info stored in the phone. Losing all this would mean great loss to me, money wise also. I ahve spent lot on downloading and storing stuff. What to do now? Please help. Does anyone have a way to backup and restore data ?

Hi, I bought today LG 6130 prepaid from Reliance Web world at Rs. 6500 ( they said that the cost has been increased !!) . But I was surprised to find the date of manufacture as 10/2004 ( and same was the date of import) . Now I am very upset thinking that the battery life of about 7 months is wasted !! I went again to Reliance web world , but they said that as the sales of these phones in india is very less , you always find 6 - 8 month old stok and that the Li-ion battery does not looase life if unused. It life begin on usage only. Is this true ?? Please help me . I am very upset thinking this. Also the S/W version is 9 . should I upgrade the S/W or keep it as I am having no issues. Also can the flash be made permanently ON in case of emergency to use it as a torch ?? If yes how can it be done? When I turn ON the seeting to use flash it turns ON only for 1 second while clicking. Also is maximum of only 25 photos can be stored irrespective of resolution ?? PLEASE HELP
