MTS has launched new MTag 353 Android Smartphone - http://www.mtsindia.in/smartphones/MTag353/index.html It is an MTS locked phone at Rs. 5999. The specs include 3.5 inch screen, 1500 mAH battery on Android 2.3. It is basically MTS branded Coolpad 5210.

Am looking for feedback on Alcatel CDMA handsets. Does anyone has used any of the Alcatel CDMA handsets (available with MTS, OMH)? How they compare with quality of other cheap Chinese re-brabded handests like Micromax. I had went to a mobile shop for buying a new CDMA handset and he recommended Alcatel strongly (Alcatel OT 616C) saying that though he stocks Micromax, but as I have said that I need quality hanset he is showing Alcatel and it is his guarantee that it has a quality of Nokia & Samsung! Unable to rely & undecided, I thought of first take feedback. Please give your feedback if you have used Alcatel handsets.

Hi guys, has Nokia launched Lumia 610C CDMA Windows phone in India? Is this phone available online?

It was launched in China in March along with 800C ( http://technoholik.com/news/mobile/smartphone/nokia-unveils-cdma-based-lumia-800c-and-lumia-610c-in-china/3229 ). There were news of it arriving in India by July, but still no news. Thats why I am looking if anyone has any info of it being launched in India. Or is there any online site or person selling this in India. Hey Parin, why it is not available as 'imported handeset'. You must be knowing. Please see if you can bring this for descent price

Looks like there are conflicting views - some are of the view that it can now be of chinese quality as it is taken by TCL. Anyone bought Alcatel handset recently? or anyone using this particular handset - Alcatel One Touch 616 C?

I stay at a place where strong Reliance CDMA signals from two towers are present and due to which my mobile keeps swiching between towers every few minutes. I have an LG 6400 handset and another Micromax GC360 hanset, both having Reliance CDMA conneciton. When I talk on LG phone the talk goes on even while the handset switches towers but in same situation while talking on Micromax handset, the call blanks out (no voice both ways) and the call has to be ended. Is this something to do with this particular handset model from Micromax or is it same with every cheap chinese handset? Looking for inputs from experts.

Oh, is it? I was thinking of buying a new set just because of this issue. Looks like changing network provider is the only solution here :|

Friends, I am looking for basic CDMA phone which is of good quality, but my search is leading to nowhere. I am looking a handset that has at least 2 inch screen, is nice looking, good quality, bluetooth would be a plus. Don't need a camera and absolutelu don't want a touch phone. I don't want to buy cheap chinese imports from micromax, karbon etc. and looking for phone from companies like Samsung, LG (love their basic phone series, but the ones available at web world have all mini screens below 1.5 inch which I dont like), motorola, nokia etc. (I have elaluated samsung F219.. so it there is nothing else I would go for it) Please suggest a handset, if you know any such handset available in market.

No looking for a new phone only. A used one is a used one. I was thinking of going for this but backed of due to following two reasons: 1.) It is not a RUIM based phone i.e not SIM based. Having non SIM based phone is inconvinient 2.) Bad feedback in thread - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/23400-blackberry-pearl-flip-8230/ . Look like the screen gets damaged too soon.

Thanks Venkata for taking time to suggest handset. Just asking you - how is the quality of FLY mobiles? Better than Micromax? I had purchased a Micromax mobile and still regret buying it as the quality of sound is very poor plus there are issues of calls getting blank (http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/34317-call-dropping-in-micromax-handset-on-tower-switch-while-talking/ ). So I want to make sure before buying a FLY mobile that it is not the same cheap quality chinese rebranded product. Have you used FLY mobiles? How are they?

Way over-priced. Such a old set is not worth more than 2600-2800. Even at LG site http://www.lg.com/in...s/LG-LG6400.jsp the MRP price at launch time is mentioned at about 4400 And also don't know how reliable is this online shopping website - ibazaarindia. Never bought anything or even heard of it. Do you have any feedback on this site? There is no COD option. Does LG has stopped making CDMA phones that used to be available with Reliance? Even the RCOM site is now not showing up LG as option for brands. I was looking for LG CDMA phone to replace my aging phone. Those basic CDMA phones from LG were great value for money. Even the medium range like 6300 etc. were good. Has LG stopped making keypad CDMA phones altogether?

Beware Of Indiaplaza - Fraud Company With Worst Customer Care Beware guys - IndiaPlaza.in is a big fraud. They ship bad quality products in bad packing and they do not care to respond to your issues once they get payment. Had a very very bad experience with an electronic item. The shipped product was not working as it got damaged during transit due to bad packaging and these guys are just not responding to replacement calls since one month. Have already spent Rs. 400 on calls to their worst customer care. Finally giving up. Just wanted to alert you all. I have heard similar stories about IndiaPlaza from other people now. It's their habit. Basically they are frauds. Deal with them very cautiously.

Seems a big mess in making. If according to them the tariff validity is expired, then it should have switched to base plan which is Re. 1 per min. No where is the 60p/min can come to picture if the the tariff is expired. They certainly are updating tariff plans of Simply Reliance users who have subscribed to these plans in Jan-July10. Even one of my pay per call RCDMA is now being charged to 1.2/3min instead of 1.0/3min. If the tariif validity were to expire it should have switched to 1/min instead of 1.2/3min. I smell rat here...

seems RGSM GPRS plans are now not free while roaming... are these people gone stupid?? seems like last nail in the coffin...

Nope.. RGSM is still the same horrible network. That is also evident from the MNP numbers. RGSM has maximum port-outs. Seems Anil has plans to sell it and that's why not investing to improve it.
