  1. I bought this when I was in KL (Malaysia) just because of its specifications. Later on I realized that I will not be able to use for next few months, so, it went to viper_in_blood. This is an excellent 3G/3.75G router. I also bought TP-Link TD-W8960N (adsl modem + router) which I am personally using. Regards, MG.

  6. Number portability put off once again Communications Minister A Raja’s promise to let people switch their mobile service operators while retaining their telephone number has got delayed once again — the deadline for the implementation of mobile number portability has been postponed from October 31 to December 20. This is the third postponement in less than a year. Mobile number portability was first expected to kick off on December 31, 2009 in the metros and category-A circles, and on April 1, 2010 in the rest of the country. The official reasons for the delay sound familiar. One, the service operators are not ready, though several of them are working overtime to launch third-generation services by Diwali. Two, the investment proposal of the overseas partner of one of the two companies mandated to implement portability has not yet been cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB). The Department of Telecommunications had given licences to two companies: Syniverse Technologies and MNP Interconnection Telecom Solutions which is a 74-26 joint venture between US-based Telcordia and Deepak Talwar Consultants. In March 2009, Telcordia had received FIPB's approval. But the Ministry of Home Affairs subsequently proposed to revoke the approval, citing security concerns as Telcordia had signed a contract with Pakistan MNP Database for implementing mobile number portability there. Further, Deepak Talwar Consultants had no expertise in running a telecommunication network. FIPB had thus revoked its clearance given to the company. But it again applied for permission; FIPB has deferred the proposal. Meanwhile, the Department of Telecommunications has asked Syniverse Technologies to get ready for mobile number portability across the country. 8. The government and BlackBerry have made their peace and its a relief to the scores of Indian corporates using efficient email service over their hand held devices. 11. Right in time for the BlackBerry Torch, Research In Motion has released its BlackBerry Desktop Software 6 for PC users. As you know, the BlackBerry Desktop Software 6 enables users to sync their BlackBerry handset with their home computers to back up their content and transfer over more stuff. Using this software to back up your content also makes it simple to switch between RIM devices if you buy a new one or have to get a handset replaced. One of the cool new features of this latest version is a revamped user interface that should make it a more visually-pleasant experience. The BlackBerry Desktop Software 6 will also come with the Media Sync software which enables users to transfer their multimedia content to the handset. This will even work with your unprotected iTunes playlists. Like with iTunes, you’ll be able to use the Desktop Software 6 to manage your applications that you acquired from the BlackBerry App World. Another cool feature will be the ability to sync your music over WiFi but you’ll need the latest version of the operating system in order to access this cool, convenient trick. Another really useful feature that you’ll get with this desktop software is the ability to use software updates on your smartphone. The Torch will be the first device to hit with the BlackBerry 6 software and this new OS will provide a variety of new features to other RIM handsets. The BlackBerry 6 software will be made available to other devices like the Bold 9700, Bold 9650, and Pearl 9100. This OS will likely come via an over-the-air update but I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to get it faster through the desktop software. The BlackBerry Desktop Software is available for download at: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/desktop_pc.jsp
  12. Need A Motorcycle Jacket Armour From Usa

If you have a Citibank card, you can use borderlinx.com. This service is provided by Citibank where you get 2 address (with phone number) - 1 in US and 1 in UK. You buy your stuff from eBay/amazon/from anybody and they will deliver it in India. You can take an estimate even before buying the stuff that how much they will charge you for shipping/custom. I have used them and found amazing. Just use their standard shipping (even if you use express shipping, it will take more or less same time). Regards, MG
  13. Apple has unveiled the iPad, its new tablet computer, which is the size of a standard children's slate and which does not have a keyboard or mouse but relies on a touchscreen. "Using this thing is remarkable - it's so much more intimate than a laptop, and it's so much more capable than a smartphone," Steve Jobs, Apple chairman said, releasing the product. The iPad appears to be taking on PC-and Linux-based netbooks while combing the best of all the iPhone and earlier Apple products has provided. The aluminium-clad rectangular unit is 0.5 inches thick, with a 9.7-inch screen, weighing 1.5 pounds, and using the 1GHz Apple A4 chip and 16 to 64 GB in flash storage. The price start at $499 for the 16 GB version without 3G, and the most expensive 64 GB model, with 3G, will cost $829. It is WiFi-capable (802.11), have 3G standards, and can be used to connect to other tablets for gaming. It can also be accessed through Bluetooth technology. It also has a dock to attach an external keyboard, making it essentially a monitor that you can also access directly. The battery lasts 10 hours in the iBook mode, but, according to Jason Calacanis, a web personality who reportedly reviewed the product, said gaming draws a lot more juice. It does not have a camera, though. Among other things, senior Apple executive Phil Schiller showed off iWorks, an office suite specialized for the iPad. One of the strongest features is a book app, iBook, a smoother answer to the Kindle that provides more options than even smartphone apps like textonphone do. There's the iPhoto, which allows for simple browsing of pictures. The 3G service, from AT&T, costs 14.99 for up to 250 MB, and 29.99 for unlimited data. There are no contracts, given that the charges are prepaid. International deals are to be in place by June. But smartphone users like Tiwari, who get most of the features in their iPhones and iTouches, can do without the added frills in an unwieldy package. Tiwari, an IT specialist from New York, says the product does not make sense "if you have an iPhone, iTouch, and are not an avid reader." Besides, he feels, there is not even a camera to redeem it. "It is good for the publication industry that has been suffering - like magazines, and daily and weekly newspapers," he felt, admitting that it could be more popular than netbooks "because those who have netbooks can have this – with 3G and all." 14. Great initiative. I might be having MANY things to give-away, will make a list. Just one suggestion, giveaways should not go to the active traders on the forum. This should be for self-use. Right? Regards, MG.

  23. Bb8830 Official 4.5 Os By Bell Mobility

First, I installed Reliance ROM on my BB8830 Details: BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.177 (Multilanguage) Package Version: 4.5.0.177 Consisting of: * Applications: 4.5.0.127 * Software Platform: 3.4.0.20 * File name: 8830AMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel177_PL3.4.0.20_A4.5.0.127_Reliance.exe * File size: 81.36MB Worked perfectly fine. Now, the latest ROM for BB8830 is for Telus Mobility Newest 8830 OS 4.5.0.160 from Telus BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.253 (Multilanguage) Package Version: 4.5.0.253 Consisting of: * Applications: 4.5.0.160 * Software Platform: 3.4.0.41 * File name: 8830AMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel253_PL3.4.0.41_A4.5.0.160_Tel us_Mobility.exe * File size: 82.57MB Now, I installed this, it works even better. BTW, I am using it purely for GSM (Vodafone). Important thing for any ROM upgradation: Delete "vendor.xml" file from the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader". Many of you have been facing of locking problem after rom upgradation is because of this. Hope it helps.
