Mep Code ( 0 Attempts Left) On Bb 8830

hi,

i have blackberry 8830 bought from TATA Indiacom, now i have switched on to Airtel and wanted to use my BIS on the same.

However suddenly my phone started acting funny and it just keep showing GSM whenever i try to use my airtel sim but does not allow me to use neither my data service on airtel nor calls while it shows "GSM".

I visited to techinical helpdesk and they showed me that in advanced option -> SIM -> when we type MEPD it shows some password attempts to unlock GSM slot completely to be network free, however in my devise its showing " ENTER NETWORK MEP CODE (0 LEFT)",

Can any one please help me to get this fixed so that i can use my BB 8830 on airtel.

I have seen experts helping everyone, please help me as well.

MEPD code is simply unlock code the unlock code shud be provided by your handset provider which in this case should be tata

so when u type MEPD its asking for unlock code

did u try using MFI tool on ur 8830 with bb os 4.2 ??

try it , it might work

Can you please advise me location to download and process to use MFI tool,

Also please advise if i need to downgrade my OS to 4.2?

learn to use google and do some reading , it will help u in long run

just google mfi tool and u will get all guides for it
