Weirdest Mobile Phones Ever

Recommended Posts

Someone posted today that Samsung needs to have good design for their phones. Agreed. Applies to Many Other Brands Also...

Well, Collected Some of the Weirdest Mobile Designs...Get Inspired You Lazy Cellphone Designers of Reputed Brands....

Enjoy...Merry Christmas And Happy New Year...

The good thing about concept design is that you don't have to worry too much about how the actual thing is going to be made. Can the existing technology support your concept? Is the design feasible or practical enough, or is it just a "geek magnet" like some alien gizmo from Star Wars? These questions may not seem that important at concept stage. In some cases you don't even need to build a prototype! Just come up with a wild idea, dream BIG, dish out impressive 3D renders - and you're good to go.

Here's a look at some downright weird and whacky cell phone designs

1. The Natural Year Phone by Je-Hyun Kim

67i75ituyuhg.jpg

This was created in the name of recycling... after all, how durable do we want our devices to be when they become near-obsolete in five years? The phone is made of hay (or should we say of "weed"?) and completely disintegrates in two years' time - only the screen and soft keys remain behind, and even these may be subsequently recycled. However, we have doubts about its practicality. Just one of those "nice to see, good to hold... but no thanks!" pieces of technology

2. Window Phone by Seunghan Song

56uer6ufrthf.jpg

What features would you like on your phone today, mister? The weather? Done! The Brits may like this glass cell phone concept, as it will predictably predict even the most unpredictable English weather, if such a thing is at all possible.

3. Cell Phone Inspired By Chinese Scrolls, by Yun Liang

5iu56iut576iuty.jpg

A roll-out display and cute buttons placed on the scroll are definitely hot-looking... but imagine using this piece on an everyday basis. If you'd need to pull the display out in a jiffy, then the tactile bit for keypad will last as long as you treat the baton well. Key words… treat the baton well.

4. Easy Tiles Phone by Tzu-Fu Wang

56ueytrhyftgf.jpg

What would you do if you didn't have the iPhone or its cool apps and games to while away your time? Sorry, didn't meant to scare you… lemme rephrase, your iPhone is SAFE and SOUND, but give the Easy Tiles Phone a second's thought. Easily upgradable apps that slide in and around the phone, make this one of those DIY thangs that give you total control to upgrade the gizmo as you like. Let's also assume you have a postal address in Utopia and upgrades are dirt-cheap!

5. Radia - Circular Cell Phone by Michael Laut

657itufygf.jpg

Who says cell phone has to be rectangular? An oddball round shape can also be suitably scintillating. No kidding, but this one might be a feasible design for Paris Hilton, who loves to talk in circles... literally!

And we've barely even scratched the (non-scratch) surface! Here's still more…

Weirdest Shape For A Cell Phone:

Bracelet Phone by Tao Ma. Combine the two and you have... handcuffs!

Another strong contender for the strangest phone shape is this O2 "Molecular Phone" by Tjep Design:

Off topic.

Kamalbhai - read your linked post, you have mentioned Orange. I have used Orange, they have very good GSM network. I used to get unlimited UK landline calls, 100 messages, 300 any mobile network minutes, all for 15 pounds a month. And for 35 pounds you get more minutes, messages and unlimited internet. There is another provider called 3 owned by Hutchinson, and they used to give unlimited free Skype calls on their network. That is the level of affordability Indian service providers should target. There is huge potential and vast untapped market.

Some more additions :

traccia-1.jpg

The pen-like stalk sticking out of the right side with the silver ring has the controls for the device. You can hit the menu buttons and access options and what appear to be controls for music from there. The screen is curved and overall the thing looks really cool.

traccia-3.jpg

The most interesting thing about the concept is that it has some sort of optical sensor that is able to read what is written when it is used like a pen and turns the handwriting into texts or emails that can be sent with the phone. The big issue I see with the design is this thing looks like the most uncomfortable phone to carry that has ever graced a pocket.

aqua-phone-concept-design2.jpg

Bon Seop Ku has created “AQUA” for Samsung, and going by the concept, it has a transparent body, graphic user interface, and AMOLED display. The water-based touchscreen simply enhances the fluid experience and apparently, one can remove icons by simply rubbing them off the display by hands.

If you ever had the chance to hear someone talking about a shoe phone and you thought this is the most outrageous of them all then you should know that an Australian IT expert doesnt share your opinion. More than that, he spared no efforts in order to make it happen. This is the easiest way for those who tend to lose things to never lose their mobile phone again. Because when you have it attached to your shoe, it is quite difficult to get rid of it.

the-shoe-phone-a-crazy-invention-for-spying-activities-01.png

The creator is 32-year-old Paul Garner-Stephen, who came up with a suggestion for a local theatrical production of a TV parody named Get smart, where Maxwell Smart, an agent, used a shoe phone. Therefore, with the help of a shoemaker friend, he brought this device in the spotlight. The shoe phone has the mobile handset inside of one heel, while the Bluetooth headset is fitted in the other.

This is a crazy invention, and there is no doubt about it. Imagine that you are on the street and it is raining cats and dogs and you cant wait for the moment you get home. But you are streets away, and your phone starts ringing. You know it might be important, your boss who wants to inform you about a project you must finish by the end of the week. You want to answer, God knows you do, but come one! The cats and dogs are everywhere! You cant, you just cant take your shoe off and answer that inopportune boss of yours! Doesnt he know that you are not available to phone talks when you are on the street? Especially when it is raining like hell :rofl_200:
