I think IDC has calculated "all those CHINESE PHONES" sold in India as G-Five... :Riendo:

It was not long ago that Nokia held over 70% of the Indian market. That market have now expanded but the share for Nokia has dropped by almost half. The share was not lost to Samsung but to 63 new entrants. They managed to capture 40% of the market, roughly equal to what Nokia lost.

If Nokia does not revamp its portfolio and change its obsolete OS, it is going to lose out further! :)

It is NOT just OS buddy... They (NOKIA) are doing blunder mistakes in almost all segments... No doubt, they have tooo many loyal customers, who look for nothing other than Nokia few years back (incl me)... But they failed to deliver the customers requirment for soooo long.. If they corrected their mistakes either it will be TOO LITTLE and/or TOO LATE

In lower end, they are NOT launching (still this day) DualSIM handsets... They have lost too many low-end customers here... After muchh mooore waiting they launched c1 --- which would be much better if they didn't launched... Then they are saying that C2 is coming, coming, coming.... But EVEN MNP HAS ARRIVED, C2 IS NOT AT ALL COMING... And for few (still a good number of) users me included, C2 after MNP is NOT AT ALL NEEDED...

In the MID-END they have bought Symbian... To be honest, Symbian is a good and powerful OS.. If they didn't bought Symbian, surely Samsung, SE would not have abandoned it.. They have done much damage to symbian than developing it, especially in TOUCH VERSION OF SERIES60.. oh... Thats another rant for another day.. Let me continue other points..

In high end, they lost the wow factor, like one exp on N95 times... All their latest flagships are UNDER-POWERED wrt hardware specs incl critical ones like RAM (Remember N97 problems)...

Their upcoming Enterprise flagship is E7...

1. It has great 4.3" AMOLED screen --- But has small resolution

2. As business device it has barcode and biz-card scanner??? No the 8MPx cam is NOT-AUTOFOCUS

3. BIG screen good for movie watching???? It has NO card slot and (1200mAh) small battery

4. KeyBoard is good --- NO seperate number keys as in EPIC or E90

5. Has USB-On-The-Go feature and Mini-HDMI port --- BUT DOESN'T COMES WITH CABLE FOR THAT

6. Phone is SLIM --- NOT AN EXCUSE FOR NON-USER_REMOVABLE-SMALL-BATTERY

Maemo was GOOD, but they disappointed buyers of N900 with cr@ppy res!stive screen.. As if it is NOT ebough, they have ditched Maemo and saying "WE ARE COMING WITH MEEGO"... Whether MEEGO is coming in right time???? A BIGGG NOOOO...

Atleast they should have used Android for stop-gap atleast.. Android single-handedly helped MANY SINKING SHIPS (like earlier SE, MOTO, etc) to reach the shore.. But NOKIA is ready to sink than going for Android....

And in CDMA arena, even many people are ready to give 7k for OLD and OUTDATED 6275... But I WILL NOT EVEN COMMENT ABOUT THEIR BIGGEST CDMA BLUNDERS HERE...

Nokia probably does not want to adopt Android for fear of loosing control of whole mobile echosystem. Somebody else dictating the software and Nokia being just a dumb hardware assembler. But then the recent rumours of Nokia coming out with Windows 7 phones does not make sense and also gives us hope to see Android on Nokia.

Build quality of Nokia handsets is great. They are like cockroaches and just don't die. If they do decide to come out with Android phones, it will be be beneficial to both Android and Nokia. It can take the Android to next level and can beat iOS for good. Hope better sense prevails on Nokia.

Lol...That's a good analogy....and perhaps explains why Nokia Users have been slow to adopt to new fragile Honey Bees..... :Riendo:
