They have launched new Samsung phones, here is the info...

Reliance Infocomm on Tuesday launched two colour camera phones from Samsung and GTRAN Wireless. Both models will be initially available in select cities.

The two phones – GTRAN GCP 4020 and Samsung SCH A603 – offer multimedia rich and data capable phones. Of these, GTRAN GCP 4020 is also the first mobile phone in India to work with RUIM card (equivalent to a SIM card in GSM phones) in India. This card stores all subscription related information, phone book and stores SMS.

It has an external attachable camera and is priced at Rs 14,001. The unit without the camera option is priced at Rs 12,001.

The 88-gram GCP 4020 has a photo album and can save up to 50 pictures including those downloaded via PC sync; a phone book that can store 300 entries with five numbers per entry plus company name, addresses, email id, etc per entry. Its PC synch can synchronise the phone book, scheduler, messages, ringtones, wallpapers and photo album with your PC.

The phone also has a high quality LCD display with 65k colours that offers life-like display clarity, and display up to nine lines of text, another four-line monochrome sub-LCD to view incoming calls without having to open the phone.

The Samsung SCH A603 is among the most expensive camera phones in the CDMA market. Priced very attractively at Rs 21,900, the 120 gram colour phone has a rotating lens and screen folder for convenient camera use.  With 260K TFT colour LCD and display of up to 10 lines of text, it offers an exciting display screen to the user. It also supports a Hindi user interface and text input.

It has a 300k pixel embedded camera with flash. Its camera has a digital 2X zoom and can be rotated 180 degrees.

The SCH-A603’s 40-poly melody chip produces an advancement in sound as it allows the user to create unique personal sounds. Other features include a phone book with photographic caller ID, voice dial, voice memo and answering machine and a planner loaded with a scheduler, to-do list, calculator, alarm and world clock and 46 (including 6 downloadable) polyphony ring tones and PC sync facility.

The GTRAN GCP 4020 is also the first mobile phone in India to work with RUIM card (Equivalent to a SIM card in GSM phones) in India. RUIM Card stores all subscription related information, phone book and stores SMS messages.
