In rare cases RE-OTAP does not work the hundredth time. Securing MIN is very important, not for being into Reliance network but for all CDMA networks worldwide. Subscribers should be able to change handsets by logging into their network account just like Sprint. Reliance MIN is accessible to a few people who fetch it by entering MDN in few minutes. MIN remains hardcoded on the discarded old RUIM and can be read by CDMA freeware tools so preserve the old RUIM and never surrender it.

also, RE-OTAF request cannot be completed, if the handset is like Moto Razr XT912 and there is no other option to RE-OTAF.

One can visit RW or RMS & ask the executive to place a RE-OTAF request on his MDN. Visiting is required, as the CCEs sitting in Callcentre's are not enough knowledgeable or they do not want to explore or they do not have access to such options..

CCEs wont even know what is OTAF,

best way it to SAVE you MIN ,

RE-OTAF is just an option which might save you.

Good to know that problem solved...

MIN never changes... it's the same as on ruim... if you have old ruim, simply put it to any handset, you'll see your MIN...

I did it hundreds of time... you can use handset simply after retain mdn process but *228 is needed to update the same in Carrier database that handset is activated...

I had faced a similar problem in past, where MIN was not NOTED DOWN, earlier. Had found by some other method mentioned here..

http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/35791-how-to-get-min-number-from-reliance/?p=289926

Maybe this can help for other cases..I must admit it was try & error attempt, which luckily succeeded.

lets see whether my problem could be solved, i was on GS3, but due to some reason it got damaged, now i transferred my num to Google Nexus S 4G, but there is some issue, could not understand...

after reading this i think my problem cd be solved!

Whenever i check my balance "It says I am not a authorised user"

and when i e-recharge message comes: "Your request for UNOTAF has been accepted, Post Activation you will be receiving a confirmatory sms shortly"

But i never received sms,

I am technically challenged with regard to handset programming.

Just thinking out aloud:

If I lose my MIN, I can just walk in to a webworld and report my handset as damaged. And get a new SIM by retain MDN process.

OTAF the new sim in another handset and then read the MIN.

Is it this simple? Or am I missing something?

Reporting your handset as damaged will be a an issue for you,

you can ask them to do re-otaf on same rsn

other work around is to put a handset exchange request and take the number on another handset or sim.

then again do same handset exchange and revert back to original handset, in this process you dont need to read MIN

or you can read min from your old sim card and put the sim in current phone, so no re-otaf or handset exchange request required
