How To: Get SPC On LG G2 And Flash PRL (Without Rooting)

Recommended Posts

Posting method to get SPC, MSL and update prl on LG G2. Used it with Spring G2 and confirmed working.

Original method here and all credit goes to the owner but just thought I would share here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521276

1. Make sure USB debugging is enabled.
2.Run SPC Toolbox
3.Click Scan ports
4.Select correct port
5.Click 'Connect'
6.Select Method
7.Read SPC
8.Read Device

I was able to get my Sprint G2 programmed for Reliance using this method. This tool does not require any rooting :)

Easiest method to get SPC:

Dial ##443336772# and your SPC/MSL will be displayed on the screen!

Probably this will work for other LG phones also.

I think we can use LGFlashTool to write NV file in Download mode and it should work.

Is it possible to enable evdo by changing the data value to undetermined in hidden menu settings?

Code is 5689#*980#

NV flash for sticking EVDO settings is old school (no offence)

Just change it using code and peace life...

@Saurabh ... kindly add the code in this Thread

Also .. has someone faced issue with LG handsets ... when MDN is transferred to the LG handset the response of "ODR RSN" to 53737 says that the phone has not been OTAFED. Though Text / Call and 1x work even in this state but makes evdo activation pain in donkey.

This has happened with me on 3 LG handsets ... Any solution ?

Yes it is oldschool, unless you the know proper dialer code and unless the Provisioning file is there in the system. I have shuffled through alot of LG phones on which these codes doesnt work but writing the file does. Its just basically the same stuff, and you might want to cross check before buying LG phones that they are indeed working on EVDO. There are many phones now on which even if the EVDO settings gets sticked, EVDO will not work.

Check PM

If one PM's the solution to other member privately, what's the need for posting here saying PM'ed / Check PM!
Any solution should be posted here in the topic so other members can also benefit.
Unfortunately since some members have become handset sellers (& interested only in that activity), more such posts are noticed.
Sharing of knowledge has stopped.
PS: This is a general observation, not directed at anyone in particular. :)
