"Service Area" Message

Recommended Posts

This probably happens on all the Reliance phones, I don't know since I'm a new RIM user. I have the Boss N380 and everytime i make or receive a call, I get a full screen message box saying "Service Area: Mumbai" which stays on for upto four seconds. While making a call, this is ignorable, but when I receive a call, I have to stare at the screen for four seconds before I get to figure out who is calling. This is extremely irritating and I can't seem to find any option that lets me disable this constant reminder of my service area.

Is there any way to disable it? If not a DIY, can it be done by flashing firmware? Would the service center be able to help me with it?

It should be 100% possible but might be secret...

Cauz I hv seen same Area Display in FWP (LG LSP 340E) in a Reliance Web World.

But As far I know Reliance FWP doesn't hv ne such option and never display Service Area. Thats why I always wonder how that FWP displayed it?

Once I got a chance to make a call to my home thru that Reliance Web World FWP and as soon as I made a call, it displayed the Service Area like Reliance mobiles. I was very surprised that how is it possible?

So there must be some tricks to enable/disable this option, but might be HIDDEN or UNKNOWN.

May be some day we find the way to enable/disable it...

Someone stated that u could connect the FWP to the Comp naa ... and read the filesystem using bitpim, try to upload a zip of the FS, maybe others could also try...
